  1. Past hour
  2. We needn’t worry, Chris Louis said in a press release “ I vowed to leave the club in safe hands and that is why it has taken me this long to announce that a sale has been agreed.” I, as always believe everything that man says.

  4. Bit more meat on the bones here: https://www.lynnnews.co.uk/sport/linnets-in-sprinkler-storm-9454621/ Didn't John Perrin do something similar at Kirky Lane once?
  5. Today
  6. personally I don’t have a problem with it, we have a rider shortage crisis right across the board and the more riders that want to ride the better, the litmus test for me is if the people who pay to watch it want it then it’s ok
  7. Not easy to answer is it deano , as many will say there's lots of uk riders wanting a team place , on the other hand the pole will most probably have an ancestor that qualifies him to be included. Thats the way speedway is run here. Equal opportunities etc.
  8. Tigers On Tour group are not too bad either.
  9. It's not his team to announce though is it! If you were negotiating a sale worth tens of thousands of pounds to you would you be disclosing the planned new owners team against their wishes? That doesn't seem the best way to conduct the process to me....
  10. Speedway racing must innovate to stay relevant in a rapidly changing sports landscape. Traditional tracks and formats are exciting, but can they compete with mainstream motorsports' digital presence? Could embracing virtual reality and eSports be the key to attracting a new generation of fans and ensuring the sport's survival?
  11. Broken leg then, gutted to hear that. He is fearless that man, hoping he recovers in time for Heerenveen
  12. Thanks for the update …….theres still 3 weeks until the season kicks off so plenty of time .. let’s hope the team know when to turn up and who will pay their wages
  13. Yesterday
  14. Not just the Speedway team with dodgy call-offs! https://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/606041/exclusive-water-farce-linnets-face-flood-probe/?fbclid=IwdGRjcAQITc5jbGNrBAhNm2V4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHs-mJsHEvrB_Yuty6-eOfzV-9KmENqxQ4d_9xeNdrCIWFsClo0-EzACPOkGd_aem_7t9BG9n_6bJrXp9vcHXqvQ
  15. HBO max does not officially launch until end of march for some reason. Presume apps will be available after then
  16. Yes but to get to a fixture list various dates are avoided due to fixture clashes or unavailability of riders/stadiums, then if a rain off occurs it's got to be squeezed in usually just before a cut off date
  17. Comets fans make plenty of noise no matter how many travel to away meetings, 😜 UTC 🔵⚪🏁😀
  18. A member of Mayfield sports events LTD were present alongside Chris Louis at the recent staff signing on session. A lot of capital has already been committed via the club purchase, lease of the stadium, and rider signing on fees. This has resulted in them loaning a new air fence for the coming season, with a purchase option at a later date. If the new owners announced are not Mayfield Sports, then something has gone awry at the 11th hour and Louis has gone to plan B.
  19. Think they have to be signed to either a Premiership or a championship club to guest.
  20. He said the new owners are nearing completion of the team, it didn’t sound like he had anything to do with it so it’s probably not his place to be naming them. Whether he’s technically still owner or not, he’s talking like the new owners are already in place and they’re doing all the work to get the club ready to race in “early April”. We have no idea how these people like to work. They’re clearly not going to be making any announcement on either the club, or rider signings, until the paperwork is officially completed. Which of course is their prerogative.
  21. Until the new owners of the club are revealed, Chris Louis owns Ipswich Speedway. He said a while ago that 5 riders were signed, so why can’t these be announced? These signings surely have the new owners blessing? He says he fully understands the frustration of supporters so why can’t at least some of the riders be revealed? He’d have been better off saying nothing. He’s shot himself in the foot in my opinion.
  22. Don’t think so, Nicholls guested a lot for the witches in 2024 while Doyle was out long term and only signed to a championship club
  23. Technically we don’t even know the new owners of Ipswich Witches identity as yet, might not even be mayfield 😉
  24. Perhaps they are using Chatgpt or whatever the AI generator for nonsense is.
