Just saw Greg Blair’s post on social media about tonight. Didn’t realise his family had ties to running the Bandits. He mentioned his great grandparents got the Bandits up and running 60 years ago. Brilliant. Actually wish I’d made plans to go tonight. Love Shielfield Park. The speed down that back straight, the banking on the third and fourth bends, the 9/10 chips from the snack bar, etc. Between the entertainment of Poole v Redcar and the fantastic racing on show last night with Glasgow v Scunthorpe, let’s hope the great week of Championship level speedway continues tonight.

I want Zmarzlik to win to cement him as the greatest of all time and also at this time it’s clear that ashtek engines are superior to Kowalski tuned engines especially in straight line speed so for Zmarzlik to beat the 2 ashtek tuned riders is also another win, I’d rather lambert win than Kurtz otherwise but whoever wins all 3 will be deserved winners and it’s going to be a tense brilliant final round and I’m so happy to be here to witness it

Knowing Poole’s track record (pardon the pun), I wouldn’t be surprised if you signed Hagon and he miraculously ended 2027 with league winners medal. Didn’t that happen with Starke last season? Looked like he was doing cycle speedway for us in 2024, then goes on to win a league title with Poole in 2025. Fraser Bowes must be in the minority of failed Pirates.

Last night emphasised the need for big changes next season. A really poor contribution from Flint when we needed him most, but I think he’ll be back alongside Hodder. Don’t rate KJP, or any rider who simply follows the leader (or whoever is ahead of him) when he doesn’t gate. He reminds me of Jason Edwards; you can tell after one lap, he’s never passing whoever is in front of him. Factor in the outlay for bringing him and Hausl over (visa or work permit, transport, accommodation, allowances, etc.) and it’s been nowhere near worth it. If we never see Hagon and Hausl in a Tigers colours again, it’ll be too soon. Not sure about Harris, but I get the feeling his time at Ashfield is up. One too many really poor performances this season IMO. I love him, but I still can’t believe his and Flint’s performances in the first leg. That killed us.

Gutted, but what a great night of speedway racing. Massive congratulations to Scunthorpe. Written off by many - myself included - before a wheel had been turned, yet they find themselves the play-off final. An incredible achievement and an outstanding performance across the two legs. Well done David How and co. 51-39 flattered us. They downed tools after progress was secured in heat 12. Bitterly disappointing from our perspective. Flint conceding a 5-1 in heat 1 set the tone. Heats 6, 7 and 8 were disasters. First, Harris losing to Palm Toft in heat 7, then the disaster of heat 8 before KJP’s shambolic contribution to heat 9. Hodder far exceeded his expected contribution, but if we’re bluntly honest, nobody else stood up to be counted when we needed them most. Heats 13, 14 and 15 - when the tie had been decided - were exhibition races for the Scorpions.

I just can’t see past Zmarzlik. When the pressure is on and it comes to the crunch, he nearly always delivers. Looking forward to it.

just wondering if machine examiners still exist within the sport?...the sport has always had tales surrounding it regarding cheating going on, one rumour doing the rounds is frozen methanol being used.

World of Sport finishing was the catalyst... The domestic offering has always been a "bit Mickey Mouse" but lived off the "proper stuff" that you watched on a Saturday afternoon, be it individual championships that meant something, with good prize money, or England winning World Titles .. When domestic UK Speedway had to stand alone without that TV coverage to engage people to attend, it was simply found wanting, and unable to evolve... The TV package was very much highlights driven, therefore the sport looked like it was that way all the time. Eg. Watching PC win three races of his five from the back gave the sport huge interest at the turnstiles when these riders visited... Instead of evolving, the same old, same old has been trotted out year after year, to ever dwindling numbers who, after voicing their frustration for a fair old time, eventually gave up complaining and voted with their feet... UK Speedway is the "Woolworths" of sport in the UK, ie stuck in a one dimensional time warp and unable to change given the skill set of those who lead it... You could walk into a Woolworths in the early 2000's and it looked pretty much the same as it did when you walked in to one as a kid in the 70's.. UK Speedway has a similar vibe...

Well done to Scunny they held their nerve and they all had a part to play when it mattered when the going got tough. some Tigers are too inconsistent on their home track IMO.

Luck/manipulation average wise the point I'm making is out of all the available riders in the UK top league only one is on a par with Jack and that's max if he wasn't riding here this year they would be looking at one of the hot/cold brigade like Klindt or Lidsey which would make the final a shoe in for Belle Vue, now they have the one genuine world class option available they might be able to make a fight of it.

Congrats to the Scorpions on getting to the final & it’s great to see a different team in the final. Good for the hardcore who attend every week & hopefully it’s promoted well & puts a few more on the gate in the final.

Nearly right Mike what worked for 10 of those fifty years but hasn't worked for the last forty decline started when Penhall quit and Lee blew himself up.

I think one of the problems is a lot of the current promoters are semi wealthy business people who are fans their focus is mostly on their main business with speedway as somewhere to write off part of the profits from the main business against speedway losses. They generally view the process of just opening up on racenight and assume the die hards will come and are happy with the status quo of borrowing riders as and when needed up until the point where the losses start to get to big to covered by the profitable business. I seem to remember a promoter in the past possible the I.T fella who ran Oxford saying " I lose stacks of cash in speedway thankfully I can make money in my main business quicker than i can lose it in speedway" Louis and the Fords main focus was/is speedway as an income which is possibly why both clubs are semi-successful granted also both clubs have generally been well supported down the years also.

Only affects riders racing in the top two Polish divisions with quite a few riding in tier three and not subject to the embargo. Without checking I think only D Thompson, Rowe and McDiarmid are likely to miss out on doubling up next year

To be fair in the John Berry days Ipswich had some awesome sides.

Lets hope he gets support from the other promoters otherwise you can see him losing faith and exiting left in a couple of years as other people who have tried to push the sport forward in the past have done.

Very enjoyable and encouraging interview. It’s funny for whatever reason there’s a few posters on here that consistently snipe and hate on Coleman but for me a huge proportion of what he’s saying is what so many have been calling on here for years. Now we actually have someone coming into the sport at international and club level calling for change and trying the lead the sport to increased participation on and off the track for a prosperous future and people are being negative about him 🤷‍♂️ Its refreshing to have someone with some influence saying “it’s no good just talking about these things, we actually have to get on with making changes for the betterment of everyone” From an Ipswich perspective it’s great to hear this winter he plans on altering the shape, drainage and material at Foxhall with a view to improving the racing!

Don't forget Woryna, I wouldn't like to be in any race with him. Freddie was as bad a few years ago but calmed down a bit now, just a bit. Woryna was in the race, and the mix, when Holder got his bad arm injury. Doyle was the 3rd rider in the mix. Would love to see a video of that lap again just to see how Holder got on such a mess.
