I don't agree with the stick people might be giving Cami for yesterday. If I were to pick one thing, it would be waiting until heat 12 for the tactical substitute. I'd like to have seen it in heat 11 because waiting is a bit of a dangerous game and effectively says you're hoping you don't do well in the meantime (because then you wouldn't be able to use it!) I'd have put Bomber in heat 11. It worked out though, so it wasn't a bad move, but I do think it's an unnecessary risk. I also think Bomber is better for the team at 3 than 5. I think he works better with a more established partnership, which is possible at 3 but not at 5. I like giving him a solid pairing for three rides and I think it's worked out really well with Kevin. Kevin averaged 8 over his home meetings in July, whilst paired with Bomber who scored a paid max in all three matches. Of all the possible issues, that's not one of them. Leon is best rider by averages this season and so putting him at 5 shouldn't be a problem, and I don't think it has been. 35+1 from 15 rides at 5 suggests it's been of no hindrance (and before anyone points out his third places in heats 13/15, points are worth exactly the same, no matter which heat you score them in - there's nothing magical about those heats). The issue is the other four. 9+1 from 12 rides at #1 in July is a massive part of it. That's unfortunate. Sam and Freddy have had a couple of better meetings recently, but neither were great last night. We need to see more of their better sides. And Mario... š That signing just hasn't paid off. It was a very risky one. It looked like he was signed off the back of one good meeting and that wasn't a great idea. He was always billed to be something he's not. He's probably better than he has shown, but his home form particularly has been abysmal. Maybe he should have practiced more. -
Thatās simply because of the restrictive points limit due to the majority of clubs not being able to afford anything else. Remove these restrictions and thereās a couple of clubs that could probably afford to compete in the Ekstraliga. Maybe. All hypothetical as I canāt see that happening in a million years.

Premiership 2027 - Are You Interested??
Aries replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Theyād still have to do twice home and away IMO otherwise weād have even less meetings than we do now. We currently have 10 home league meetings, a league of 8 teams once home and away would give you just 7 home league meetings. What else would you fill the season with to have the āhome meetings at the minimum every other weekā that you mention? Eight team league, twice home and away giving you 14 home league fixtures plus the KOC fixtures would help plug some of the annoying gaps in fixtures that we currently have. KOC could continue the same format as this year. Two groups of four instead of three in a north/south split, giving a guaranteed three home cup fixtures in the group stage, group winners meet in final. 17 guaranteed home fixtures in total. Sounds much better to me. -

Redcar only have one home meeting left and are already behind us. Poole visit both Ashfield and Shielfield Park, so I don't see us at a disadvantage there. Berwick haven't eon away from home so far. The current top four are the only four who haven't lost an aggregate point. Doesn't guarantee anything, but it's hard to see who replaces any of the current top four. -
Our Premiership barely holds up against 2.Ekstraliga let alone the top league. Perhaps they could join the same league as Landshut and Daugavpils and it can almost become a sort of European league

If they could get the top league up to 8 teams and 20% better quality than we already have, every team having a proper number one, home meetings at a minimum every other week. Once home and away to minimise seeing same teams every other week and it would also help stem losses by having fewer but hopefully better quality meetings, Would need a tv deal and ideally a proper league sponsor to get another 4-6 real top line riders back over here and finding a way to help Sheffield survive. - Today

Lodz GP round 7 Saturday 1st August
Neila replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
May make it more interesting as riders could be chasing set ups for a few heats, as this is the 1st time a GP has been staged here -
After reading the article in the Star, it seems there is no intention to build a stadium. The plan is to demolish the existing stadium, build the houses but leave a levelled piece of land big enough for a limited capacity stadium and invite parties interested in operating a speedway facility to manage the operation. The successful applicant would then be a tenant but responsible for financing the building of a stadium that can operate within acceptable noise levels. It would take a brave person or consortium to take on that level of investment in a stand alone, limited capacity speedway facility. No doubt they would find a successful applicant in order to get the green light. Maybe even dump some prefabricated grandstand sections left over from the Abbey on the site before it all falls through due to financial difficulties and the applicant pulls out.

Result will depend on how many pilots riders are looking at their average for next season, looking at some of the scores from last night š like the rocket man

Harris is back to number 1 isnāt he from today, so will mean R/R, guest or replacement for Howarth coming in at number 3 or 5. Could do horses for courses with Flint and what they decide to go going forwards in those two positions as KJP still needs to support at number 4 in his races with still not much experience around all the UK tracks

Agree riding Harris at 3 seems a poor decision, especially at home. You have to negate the away Team Big Guns is possible.Harris didnāt have great start to the season to be fair though. He was maybe thinking Howarth and Flint would be Ok in Ht 13,but Howarth packing it in ,the Team should have changed around. IMO
