The Leicester performance tonight doesn't make great reading Kemp 15/6 Masters 6/5 from a Poole point of view. Re: the absence of Lawson on Wednesday if you want somebody to blame why not the person/people who decided to cancel the Berwick KO heat cos it coincided with a football match (balancing the cost of running a poorly attended KO heat against potentially a well supported final) and of course the person/people who decided to swop the scheduled league heat with the KO heat. (That was the real clanger). These decisions directly resulted the Richard being contractualy obliged to ride for the Danish team on both occasions. Lawson is just trying to make riding speedway fit his life, he's done nothing wrong he's just doing what he has signed up to. The Fords on the other are making executive decisions that determine who actually rides for Poole on the night.

He also had a very serious injury when in the USA in the close season... Maybe the NSS being so wide and safe suits him more currently...?? He will certainly be someone to get next season on whatever his average ends up as.. -

Depending on what Poland decide... For the Championship, it could be next season... You would think the top tier are pushing for eight teams, to sell to TV, and also ensuring a fair shareout of any top talent that decide to ride over here to encourage two teams to move up.. With fixed race nights not being needed anymore to accommodate the DUers, meaning the likes of Poole and Glasgow for example, could keep their key race nights and move up... Maybe adhoc Friday or Saturdays as required for Glasgow depending on Polish commitments of any of the 14 riders?.. The Championship without the many HL's who ride in Poland could be a very different landscape... And, if the top tier get a TV deal, they can offer the current shared riders more of a guarantee... -
Was that 10 from 7 rides at reserve🙂

I find it so weird. He was as good as I have ever seen him ride @NSS when he guested for Kurtz then turned up for Witches. Losing his spot at Bydgoszcz has crippled his confidence. -
10 +2 for Northampton tonight good old batch proves the doubters wrong again 😄

When you watch Ben Cook in Poland last night you have to question his efforts tonight.Just topping up the pocket money.IMO

At at some point there must be a tipping point where we quite literally run out of participants or in this case riders. -

Just checking everything is ok with you as you mention me in every post it’s a bit of an obsession and I’m making sure the nurses have given you your medication I’m just glad we have speedway at Foxhall and no I’ve not attended much this season as the team lacks excitement … the track is worse than ever and the presentation is appalling …. Sadly I don’t actually miss it and I’m sure there are lots of supporters not just of Ipswich but many other clubs who are finding the season as a whole a bit boring … the Sheffield fans I spoke to said the same -

Bus 201 & 202 (I think) Still a reliable service after the meeting. [And free for us ancients] -
You would end up with the NDL racing you describe.. If (when), Poland bring in their "Poland plus one league" stipulation then many who double up now won't be able to, even if they choose the UK over Sweden and Denmark as their "other league".. I can see Poole going tier one on Wednesdays next season given the standard of teams the Championship may end up with without the HL's who double up and have Polish contracts..

Good scores for Batch and Drew tonight in the Premiership -
Anyway back to the meeting great nights for Danny King and Drew Kemp - in fact Kemp has I reckon won Leicester the cup with his 15 tonight. He was just very good out of the starts tonight and away - It was difficult to work lines to over take. That said there was some (good) overtaking in a few heats and some decent racing and it was a close meeting and the crowd was for me the best of the three meetings I have attended. Sorry that all seems a bit positive. Tom B will benefit form being away from No 1 from - was trying hard but its not working for him right now. Three of the Witches top riders all had one dud ride / fall each which cost them. Jason Edwards took two heats to work out the track - this needs to be from heat2! Not sure if KJP is fit? Dan Thompson seems to not be progressing - I have seen him twice at Foxhall only this season but it was his former home track land I expected more from him on this occasion. Being honest take away Kemps stunning 15 pts and the witches would have probably won this 49-41 or so.

I agree. . I remember some of the Aces teams post 1993 to 2000+... Six of us used to go, and we all ensured we got there as late as possible just in case any of us got given a team place!!! -

I agree. I bet a lot of Coventry, Cradley, Wolves, Peterborough, Swindon and Arena fans would like an 'average' season. This is not about us at Ipswich or any other team, it's about the sports survival now pure and simple. -

Nothing really to write home about tonight. Brennan still struggling, Lawson still not a team player and pushing Edwards into the fence and somehow we managed to draw it. Story of our season so far, nearly, but not quite. Belle Vue if we finish fourth will put us out in the play off semis. Well to be fair, any team right now puts us out of the play offs. Still… could be worse… we could be Lynn! -

And the reason why they didn't get Doyle as No1 was down to their previous owner selling up, and the time it took... Which also then impacted every other track as fixtures couldn't be published, and season tickets couldn't be sold... -

Not just Ipswich I would say, the sport is in a mess and the loss of any one team would have a serious effect on the others being able to run a proper model. Your promoter talks a lot of sense, but so did Stuart Douglas when he brought Arena Essex and none of the other promoters would listen to him either because he was new and they don't the idea of change, even when things are in the gutter. -

Everything about this year is dire. Don't need to go over any of it again but this winter is the be all and end all for Ipswich Speedway going forwards. Serve this up next season and it's going to be the beginning of the end to be truthfully blunt. -

With 25 points in two meetings at Foxhall this season, surely a place for Kemp next season should be a no brainier
