I'd disagree with that, it would make the product weaker but not necessarily worse.

Take a heat 4, Lawson & Ablitt vs Pickering & Hook, you'll likely get 2 riders miles behind the others.

I'm not suggesting a 38 point limit is the way to go, but if every team was the strength of Birmingham & Newcastle i.e Auty & Pearson vs Starke & Complin the racing should be closer!

The very strong rumour, especially on the back of potentially more Polish league riders becoming available  is that BSPL want to make the Prem stronger ie higher points limit and Championship weaker with a lower points limit. The exact points dependant on how many clubs are declared for each league and who buys the biscuits at the AGM?!

Well done to the Promotion. They could have easily walked away with their heads held high given the precarious nature that the sport is in and the ageing years of the main men, certainly aren’t in it for the money. They are an excellent Promotion with their love for the sport and the fans who rally round them year after year. All the best in 2023.

This not only good news for Edinburgh fans but grate news for speedway. It needs teams like the Monarchs to be part of the U.K. speedway scene.  Fingers crossed that the negotiations are concluded satisfactorily and that those who compete against you in 2023 appreciate the fact.

Whatever side you support it would have been a real shame for a proper club like the monarchs to bite the dust .

Pleased for the fans, takes away the uncertainty if running or not.

Also let’s the promotion plan team building early knowing next season is secured.

Will this news enable derby rivals Glasgow to confirm that they will remain in the Championship or is it still possible they could go to the Premiership ?

Don’t think Glasgow will go up.

Fantastic news. Hopefully with this agreed, they can work again on a proper home. Is there any remote chance of buying the current site? Plenty of space around the track to make it a bit wider and generally better for racing, if only the place was their’s.
