I feel sorry for Adam and Tom. The two riders in the team who are not GP or even extraleague riders, on a track they’ve only ridden once, with different engines / mechanics… and taken out of what should be “easier” heats.

obviously I hope they score and score well but can’t help thinking they’re being set up to fail .

How are Brennan and Ellis being set up to fail?

There's one person (possibly 2) on here suggesting that Brennan/Ellis should be taken out of their easiest rides.   The rest of us seem to be arguing against this as it's a stupid idea.

Presumably, the GB managers are thinking in line with the majority of us.

Our two non-GP riders are the weaker on paper, and we need to help them and get the best from them.  The three GP riders should be believing they can beat anyone if we are going to win the final.

if you thought the vitriol on here was bad before now, just wait till afterwards.

How can you set up a speedway rider to fail. That’s a new one.

If the track is the same tonight Australia have a massive advantage, they seemed to struggle in the first match but rode much better in the race off albeit against lesser opposition. Poland should win but Australia second favourites in my opinion.

Were Australia good or were the rest poor.I suggest the latter.

If Australia were that good they wouldn't have been in the race-off.

I'm not having a pop at Adam and Tom, but just don't believe they're good enough at this level. I'm not saying they won't do their best and I'm not thinking any replacements will do any better. We have at this time 3 top riders and we need 5. Take heat 1  tonight, it's Adams best chance from Gate 1. There's a chance he could gate and go, stick to the white line and win. I don't think that'll happen, but I'd be disappointed if Dan didn't win if replacing him. Why throw away a gate 1 opportunity?

Would love to have egg on my face come tomorrow and be proved wrong.

Does anyone know what time it starts on Eurosport

Speedway star says 5-30pm and Eurosport itself says 6-45 pm (our time)

Well i think certain riders rode alot better in the race off, Fricke and Doyle were much better, it took them longer to get their set ups right it seemed. They are definitely better than Denmark and may just edge us for second spot

I just think it's hilarious reading some of this stuff, both on the BSF, and on Facebook. I reckon it's going to be really tight tonight.

Thing is, it seems that the majority of people are convinced that GB are destined to finish stone last. Why? We cruised through the semi-final. We are the only nation with three riders in the top 9 of the GP standings. Yet we are going to be outclassed?

Yes, we COULD finish last, but are we really that crappy?

I certainly don't think GB are going to come last.

I do think that the quality of riders and home advantage will be enough to see Poland win.   But I believe GB are second favourites and could win.

Australia could flop like the opening round or triumph like the race-off depending on how they go on the night.  Denmark I just don't see as winners.
