Pretty sure they would have been consulted, with an original fixture list given to clubs for them to look at and agree/disagree with.  They would have had to agree to it before it became official.

Well done Scunny... great all round effort got us over the line. Special mention to Ashton Boughen, great guest performance.

Don’t be fooled by the final score line (two late Bears 5-1’s made it look closer), this was a comfortable win for the Scorpions. A much better team performance than when they won by 6 points a few weeks ago. 

Very solid performance from the main body of the team and a superb showing from their guest, Boughen at reserve. Seems to have been struggling so far but he was brilliant tonight. So much speed for a 16 year old and he was a joy to watch. Definitely a star in the making.

Bears benefited from a fantastic performance from Riss and the usual good show from Wright but the rest of the main body of the team scored 11 from 12 rides, which isn’t good enough to win at home. If Riss had been at 1 and out first race and Bailey not fallen off when 3rd on Heat 9 then Bears might have got something out of the meeting, but the better team won.

Not entirely sure what to make of that really. 

Fair play to Scunny, solid throughout. Allen and Howarth had much better meetings and Boughen was excellent at reserve. 

Riss was a class above and never really looked like being beat - I'd be trying everything I could to get him back but I appreciate it's not that simple. Wright was good and thought Edwards did well but rest inconsistent. It is a young side though and that will happen. 

Still not sure what I think about the track this year - Scunny certainly seemed to have no problem overtaking but we seemed to struggle, even Charles when he was behind.

First time I've been to Redcar this season. What has happened? No atmosphere and riders not doing celebration laps after most races. Riss was superb and back to his best. Wright did his job and Trigger was in the mix. The rest might as well have stayed at home. Massive difference the track from last season as well with the new track man. Little grip around the outside taking away Wrights signature move on turn 2. Won't be rushing back.

Personally wouldn’t blame the track tonight for the defeat, thought it rode ok. Certainly Boughen, who has barely ridden here, had no trouble blasting around the outside. More to do with the make up of the home team imo.

As for not doing celebration laps, Bears riders didn’t win enough races to celebrate really. Think the atmosphere was flat as Bears never really looked like fighting back and we have lost 3 out of 4 home meetings so far.

As those have already said above it was really nice to see Erik back to his best tonight. Thankfully he kept the score respectable early doors before Wright came to the party later on.

Sad no MPT in Heat 15 but the visitors had done the job by then.

Bears look to me to be in trouble. Danny King would have probably netted 9-10 tops. Tougher teams to come starting with Berwick next week.

Enjoyable night though!

Not massively surprised, as I just don't think Redcar look that good. Don't think they are awful either, but look one of the weaker teams in the league to me.

Great result for Scunny, as I don't see them dropping any points at home, so a great start to their top 4 ambitions.

Just back from this meeting, Scunthorpe got the upper hand in Ht1 and never looked back or in trouble after that.  For Redcar Wright did what was expected, Riss untouched all night, Edwards battled for every point, Knudsen didn’t threaten at all, Bailey so inconsistent you’d think ones be looking over then shoulder at the axe if carry’s on that form, both Mulford and Trigger only picked up a couple of points between them which isn’t what you expect at home.  

For Scunthorpe the Howarth and Mountain pairing were excelllent, Palm-Toft loooed fast all night, Allen backed io his other heat leaders, Boughen really exciting liked the high wide line all the way around the track (even if he went backwards a few times with the lack of dirt), Lambert his by bike gremlins it seemed and Harrison you can say just getting the experience needed.  

The big disappointment was the track, dirt line disappeared after 5/6 races, track man kept grading so close to the fence but failed to make tye high line a fast racing one.  Stood on entry to bend 3 and was sections of the track crumbling, from outside looking in the track man needs some help from the likes of Steve Lawson, Chris Meredith etc. before it gets any worse and ruins the good reputation the track has built up over the years

They were possibly trying to rush the meeting through a bit as a) rain was forecast at about 9pm and b) it was bloomin' cold!

Trigger like the majority of reserves in the league this season haven’t beat a 1-5  rider yet. All his pts have come from beating fellow reserves. Maybe the way the teams are constructed under the new pts limit this season, thats all what is expected of them. Hopefully by the end of the year they will start being a bit more competitive against the main 1-5 riders,
