Fair enough but I'm just trying to think outside the box. Boy, does Speedway need it. My suggestion is not perfect by any means but I'm sure there's ways they could work around it. All I'm saying is that the sport needs a new direction, a new impetus and more variety. At the  moment it's same old same old and needs something different to get new fans in.  Even bringing back the Gold Helmet would be a good start. A decent sponsor, some decent publicity and put it out there that there's bad blood between the two contestants (akin to boxing etc). Remember the Golden Helmet match races between Carter and Penhall, now that really did catch the public's imagination!   

Imagine if they tried that last year! Imagine if Poole agreed to be the 8th team to race in the KOC and they got drawn against Sheffield, then imagine the mighty Poole getting cold feet and pulling out so Sheffield got a buy into the next round, just imagine if that happened…

Why does Robert lambert’s name pop up on this forum so often when he was interviewed saying he wouldn’t come back to British soil anytime soon. He even said he would never manage the British speedway team when his riding is done as he would be the owner and would make massive changes unlike people in charge now. He is a massive tool.
