Dropped in on my way back home from a week in Hayle. More incredible progress since last there, new Bar, new Small Stands. Massive Crowd compared to early last season when I last visited. Nothing wrong with Track, was windy so they had watered it, came ideal by heat 5 or so. Home riders attacked it, Slick Sam Masters did what he used to do at Monmore when it was wet, - went missing started moaning - rest of Oxford team followed him Some good racing later on, with Barker a proper 3rd heat leader at home and Joe T in there and Klima excellent last night, if they could find an adequate replacement for Tobias, they won't be far off the Play Offs. Someone mentioned Bowtell but I'd imagine they would want some one better Away where points will be key. Another amazing leap forward from the SW outpost. My next speedway sojourn will no doubt be to Northampton.

It really is time that Harkess realises that he should step aside for a younger more savvy individual (Scott Wilson perhaps?) to team manage home meetings. He has previous history of such blunders and last night's howler probably cost us a home win. He also rarely takes the opportunity when he wins the toss, to take the option of choosing gate positions in heat 15 against Glasgow, which is an advantage, he seems blissfully unaware of. Time to gracefully step out of the limelight Alex😐

Yeah,on my previous visits to e.w.r I've noticed the same.anyone think the ref was a little bizarre also last night, either not putting on the two minutes warning or putting it on when the riders had already taken to the track...seemed an age between a lot of the races.

It wasn't. Good track curators are rare these days but Plymouth is generally the worst prepared track with numerous avoidable postponements in the last few years. Hopefully you burnt some straw to sort the surface out tonight. -
