dan is making a name for himself in the sport don't use that as a negative and a reason to knock Workington comets have a go at the situation for genuine reasons by all means but don't turn success against the sport it is hard that we don't get meetings for weeks on end and then when we do we have riders in overseas meetings but be pleased we have a cumbrian prospect riding at the higher levels a good promotion could use that as publicity4 points

We can speculate every aspect of Glasgow's performances , but the truth is , we should be doing far better than 34 points away from the home . Before Redcar strengthened up , everyone was winning there , we scrambled a point . Our away performances in the Championshio Shield were acceptable , but in the league it's a different story . At home we look far from convincing too . The utter shambolic performance against Workington in the Shield followed by the unforgivable collapse against Edinburgh in the cup has left a lasting effect on attendances We have an underperforming top two who seemingly cant get their machinery to work properly , getting them to get through a meeting on competative engines seems to be a bridge too far . We have a fan masquerading as a team manager who has no tactical nous or the ability to lift the team when the going gets tough. We are constantly fed the party line , that team spirit is good and dont panic Mr Mannering , everything will be ok . Well the harsh reality is , we put together a strong looking side at the start of the season and so far it's blown qualification out of a Shield group it had complete control of . Blown a KO Cup tie it was running away with . And with the next home meeting against the all conquering Lakeside Hammers looming large , defeat in that will leave the play offs looking a very distant holy grail . But dont worry folks , everything will be fine .4 points

If he is it will be due to the fact he has broken an arm rather than because of some results based fickle knee jerk reaction others advocate......3 points

Not riding too well? Are you on about the same team who is undefeated at home and won their last away match at Kings Lynn?3 points

Are Poole fans really that fickle? One poor season and everyone stops going? Swindon didn’t win the league for 45 years but we’re still going. Stop sounding like a load of spoilt brats, and support your riders. Kurtz and Grajczonek will come good, even if you don’t win it this year.3 points

Yet more impressive scoring from Leon Flint, this time its 16pts in his sides 50-40 win at Belle Vue, I think I`m right in saying that in the next week or so Leon moves from reserve to be the No1 which is quite an achievement when you look at the riders in the Birmingham team who ride regularly in higher leagues.3 points

The Aces are massive underdogs in this one... If they can get anything out of it it will simply be down to the genius of Mark Lemon... Especially with the track being so incredibly consistently consistent... It's a real problem at the moment having both bends very similarly well prepared and the straights having no bumps.. The rivers Irwell and Mersey may also be at high tide around the time of the meeting but due to being so far away they will have absolutely no bearing on the track. This will obviously result in the home lads having almost no home advantage as they will be confused as to which one of the plethora of lines to take... Can only see one winner... (Sounds a bit like a Poole thread this)...2 points

It's a remarkable achievement that Dan seems able to ride well on tracks he hasn't seen before in countries he hasn't raced in before. Keep it up and the future really could be bright for GB.2 points

He was accused of having a dodgy silencer by fellow riders.Said it sounded strange in the pits when warming up Since then he had trouble. Not picked by Denmark for SWC etc.And as I mentioned it must have been more than just a personal clash with Stekkers as the situation remained pretty much the same when Secher had the job and now also with Hans2 points

Thats what happens in modern day speedway when you sign a precocious talent . At least you havent had the scenario when he's missing one of your matches because Belle Vue have an important meeting the following evening . Well not yet anyway2 points

Just thought I'd make a quick appearance back on here ha ha. I agree with you Dave the racing has been decent so far this season. I think the team is holding their own. Looking solid at home and been unlucky away from home on a few occasions. Remember we only won one away match last season which was at Peterborough largely thanks to reserve guest James Shanes. Just interested to know what the doubters thoughts are who predicted us to be wooden spoonists.Just thinking back to Arsonfire's comment at the start of the season that he would rather pay the petrol money and go to Redcar. Someone else also spouted up they would be happy to share the petrol with him. Can't remember who that was. Maybe they will be honest enough and remind me. A quick look at the league table shows the bears from Redcar struggling. Are you still a regular down there Arse and your mate? Boomerang as usual has been picking and choosing his meetings but still voicing his opinion over the pit fence. Hope this team which is full of triers can keep plugging away until the end of the season. Bye for now. Tin hat at the ready. Ha ha ha ha.2 points

I've got to be careful here as Garry is a good friend but he is such a good team manager. If you travel with him he will go through different scenarios that could crop up and is normally one step ahead of the opposing team manager.2 points

Because Ellis is crap & we can currently replace him someone up to 6.94. That window of opportunity closes soon though2 points

I don't agree that bad control is a bigger issue than track surfaces. Looking at the most recent meetings at all NL tracks on updates : Belle Vue 2 falls, no injuries, 15 heats. Birmingham 4 falls, no injuries, 15 heats. Buxton, 4 falls, no injuries, 15 heats. Coventry 3 falls, no injuries, 15 heats. Cradley no falls, no injuries, 15 heats. Eastbourne, 4 falls, no injuries, 15 heats. IOW, 3 falls, 1 injury, 15 heats. Mildenhall, 4 falls, no injuries, 15 heats. Plymouth, 8 falls, no injuries 15 heats. The one injury was Adam Roynon, - one of the best and most experienced riders - whose throttle stuck open. Plymouth's track surface was described as 'inconsistent'. And then we have Stoke. 13 falls, 3 injuries, 10 heats. Meeting abandoned due to the state of the track, following meeting cancelled a day before hand due to track issues. The above very much suggests to me that the issue here is not about poor throttle control at all, but a dangerous track surface in which all riders - and not just the young and inexperienced ones(I repeat, Ben Morley fell twice) - were unable to cope.2 points

The usual trotted out line that there are ‘plentiful riders from overseas’ who want a team spot here and there are plenty of riders in the NL who could make up team spots. firstly where are these plentiful riders then? Matt Ford has been turned down by many over the past 2 seasons and had to turn to journeymen to make do. Of those plentiful riders from overseas who apparently want to flock here quite a few of them are barely championship level. Most become and stay reserves for several seasons thus keeping the promising Brits out of a team place, but let’s skip over that for now. There aren’t plentiful overseas riders wanting to come over anymore, getting less as the seasons go on. The truth about the NL standard riders only a handful are really able to deal with a level above. If you watch NL racing (I do every week) you simply cannot say that just because a rider of NL has an average of 6 or over they can handle the next level. ill use 2 examples to demonstrate. Mitchell Davey has been a star at this level for a while now but always struggles at levels above. (I use his name with caution due to the serious injuries he received and as someone who was on the track and had to witness his struggle for life it is most definitely not meant in any way as a negative and I couldn’t be any more delighted to see he is now on the mend). Another is Kyle Hughes. A big name in the NL but has struggled at any other level. Then you have heat leaders like Jon Armstrong and Tony Atkin who are both riding for fun and in their late 40’s. So already this exhaustive list of 6 pointers is already growing thin. its fanciful at best to say there are enough riders of adequate quality to fill all team spots. And then when take out teams who have assets to call on to build a stronger team you are leaving some teams with having to pick up the dregs, great for the fans NOT! The facts you quote as I’ve demonstrated are clearly flawed.2 points

I am following both meetings on tonight at Lakeside & Workington & some has posted that the hope Bickley score his 1st point beating an opposing rider. He has scored a point but only after Proctor fell. Sorry!1 point

So if you want to water the product down further, you are going to be forcing riders out like Doyle, Iversen, Andersen, Bjerre, Kasprzak, Thorsell, Lambert etc... you have even less riders. You can't say you want to make it between Premiership and Championship standard and then quote how many riders are currently in the top division.1 point

Prior to the Peterborough meeting, Danny only had 4 x 3rd places in 24 races. Has he not got the confidence yet or the settings right. Surely someone should try his bikes to see if that is the problem.1 point

so why do the updaters and other posters mention bends 3 and 4 then ? and when is the back straight not the back straight , only when you are standing on the back straight and looking over to the home straight , that becomes the back straight ? ? ?1 point

Well done Swindon top of the league. One of the tightest for years, most teams can win it.1 point

A damning half term report card though this could have been written a month ago. The Lakeside meeting at home is crucial and I'm not confident. Richard Lawson will be back to prove a point and Nick Morris will love the widened track, so that's our top two negated on current form. Keep going the way we are and our season will be over at the end of August. By a cruel twist of fate our last league meetings are back to back against the 0131, and how they would love to be the ones to finish off our playoff chances, if we haven't done that ourselves by then.1 point

i agree with most of that , prob ,all of it . at the start of the season you had assembled what look like a really strong team . Glasgow signed riders who rode last seasons track really well (starke) golden promises by a certain reserve saying he will double his average ! Glasgow prob shot themselves in the foot by altering their home track and taking away any home advantage . harris looks like he has one eye on retiring and the rest are just going through the motions . except viss and kerr . fans can and do make good team managers , look @ jacko @ Workilngton . he has the respect of all the riders and gees them up when needed . maybe cami is too nice a guy to start throwing his weight around . then again Stewie D is an impossible act to follow . but as you say , the promoters cant keep feeding fans spiel and hope they take it in like a sponge . the stadium and its surroundings are second to non in the championship and you deserve more from your guys . maybe it will come on Saturday @ wucky , who knows . although we have Dan missing, he at the moment is still finding his way around d.p. ( only four home meets this year so far . best o luck for the remains of the short season. fixtures are a farce and looking @ the competition from the east coast , they have had meetings most weeks . wonder why that is . so best o luck for the remaining fixtures as and when they come . leakside look to be the top team at the moment followed by the borrowers (p/borough ) .1 point

Both Flint and Kemp are still 15 and not old enough to ride in the Championship Thats aside from the fact they may already be destined elsewhere when they are.......1 point

Scorpions gifted that one away... fair play to Lakeside, took advantage of our misfortune and costly mistakes. Disappointing home loss again, we need our injured back asap before its too late. After a few dodgy opening heats the racing improved and turned into a quite entertaining meeting, some great racing, just a shame from a Scunny point of view that we lost.... only got ourselves to blame though! Well done Lakeside.1 point

think you are missing the point here, he didn't "get rid" of CH, he just didn't sign him for a year, think Capone is talking about sacking during the season....I may be wrong though.1 point

Robin Brundle is just a puppet at Kings Lynn. Did anyone really think Buster would change his dictatorship ways ? Even his own flesh n blood couldn’t turn him around so what chance has an outsider like Brundle ? Its either Busters way or the Highway, as he knows best. You only have to look at the p155 poor job he has made of the Chairmanship of the BSPA to see what he can offer to Kings Lynn Speedway these days.1 point

My own thoughts are that some have downed tools or at best just doing enough so as it appears they haven't downed tools , Stewart leaving is probably the biggest factor towards this. Richie especially who had a very close relationship with Stewart is a pale shadow to the Richie of last year, others apart from Vissing and Kerr have been poor mix all this together and you have a toxic brand. But they will soon be on to tell us all that team spirit is great and they will soon all click and everything will be ok once this team get going, do us a favour and don't bother this time we are all fed up hearing it.1 point

Surely now the time has come for the SCB to take action over the ongoing safety problems at Stoke. In the last 3 meetings, 3 riders have ended up in hospital. Last week James Chattin ended up in critical care with broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a damaged spleen (Thankfully now on the way to recovery). Tonight heat 1 took 4 attempts to run, and ended with just 1 finisher and one faller pushing over the line for 2nd place. The match was abandoned when 3 riders all fell on the second bend of heat 11. In between there were 13 fallers in 10 heats, and 3 riders withdrawn from the meeting with various injuries. Spectators were again covered in ridiculous clouds of dust from the first bend. It was also the fourth meeting of the season to have a second half MDL meeting planned....and the MDL riders are yet to race a meeting. Every single one postponed/abandoned by some sort of Stoke induced calamity. All this on a dry, fine night. Things have now gone beyond a joke. Riders and fans have long been inconvenienced by the dust, poor track, generator failures, air-fence deflations, electric failures, etc etc... but when rider safety is being so badly compromised with riders ending up in hospital on a regular basis, and multiple riders withdrawing injured every meeting, surely it's time for action.1 point
