  1. Unfortunately we have some glory boys who started 'following' us when we were winning and now if we don't win every meeting are calling for riders heads. It's quite funny watching them as they fall apart (usually on Facebook) . I see them in the pits all over the riders (selfies, clothes etc). Then after a meeting spouting off like the team just slapped their mothers. Sure we can all have a dig at riders who are underperforming but we have little to no idea what happens in the pits and behind the scenes. You win or lose then u move on with life. Wee bit banter, wee bit back and forth then on to the next match. Sucess is very rarely lengthy and tends to come in go. At Edin we have been spoilt no doubt about it. Well now it's someone else's turn, tigers may not have the trophys but they got the stababilty, exciting rides and fans back into speedway. Still reckon we should empty Lawson tho and ref was bias

  2. Harris crashed at the same time and wrecked his bike. Not short of a few bob, and was useful to Poole, so got a collection. While Neilsen was a Poole rider, Probably lived hand to mouth in comparison, he was no use to Poole after his injury, so didn't get one. They are the facts as I see it.

  4. I'm sure Broc Nicol is not feeling quite so jovial as he's in a hospital bed with a broken collar bone, cuts and concussion due to that idiot.

  5. That's an interesting and valid point - It's a bizarre one in that Todd Kurtz had his best meeting of the season by a long distance on a track that was 'terrible' according to the Somerset team manager and promotor. It's a sad sign of the times when you only have to look at IDH's picture of the Oak Tree Arena last week to see it resembling the M5 by half way through the meeting to see who is dictating track prep there and calling the shots. No wonder he doesn't fancy it with some dirt down on the track. I said at the time and I stand by it, signing Schlein was a mistake and the most untypical Somerset signing you will ever see.

  6. Schlein is a reason people fans don’t attend anymore, paying good money to watch him not try a leg when it doesn’t suit, but getting plenty money to ride slick tracks which is all he can do.

  7. Shows how good Pirates rode tonight as we we never likely to compete very well in 13 and 15. But the job was done earlier and what a delightful victory. If we can choose in the playoffs we will definitely be back up to Manchester if Belle Vue are top 4. (Doubtful) Well done to the whole team. Our guests did OK but Covatti would have filled his boots tonight. Happy as Larry. Shut that door!

  8. Taking no risks lol, he nearly clipped his back wheel several times, he was giving it everything!

  9. No... now just go away you naughty naughty boy

  10. Not for the first time Rory Schlein throwing his rattle out of the pram, its quite embarrassing at times. We live in a reasonably free Country Rory you can always get another job.

  11. he broke his leg riding for us and we could not do a collection for him .as I said earlier I thought he was hard done by. imo

  13. Steady on, after all we are only six places off the bottom ...

  14. Oops. So Geoff are you now going to admit Pirates were by far the better team, or are you going to make excuses about guests?

  15. Can’t believe I’ve just seen Nicolai overtake someone.

  16. I was thinking this must be an imposter Klindt, but gate win, gate win, miss gate last! nah that's the real Klindt alright LOL

  17. When Ellis went to Birmingham he had a massive average now it is down to under 8pts. So possibly same would happen to Dan If he signed for a Championship club.

  18. Really is quite laughable some of these replies! I am a Kyle Bickley fan. In fact, I sponsor him. I know him and his family quite well. In my opinion, if scores any points at all, he should consider it a job well done. I actually wish for him to score loads of points and Poole to win. Perfect!

  19. Only if its within +/- 5% of the mean temperature average of the last seven days, and he is at home.. Or Something like that....

  20. So the message is to all track curators up and down the Championship is when Somerset turn up make sure there`s plenty dirt down. Doesn't seem they like very much.

  21. Except Roman Matousek's extraordinay ride with his front wheel over the inner kerb picking up tremendous grip...and Hans winning of course!

  22. Bigger worry is that he is the guy tasked by No Limits Programme to Coach on and off track - hardly the perfect role model - "whinging Aussie" (excuse the irony)

  23. There's only one word for you,but as it's a family forum i won't say it

  24. Bickley strengthens Belle Vue up no end. Knows the track inside out. Bellle Vue’s to lose now.

  25. I wouldn't worry too much about Ayres, he is bubbling full of confidence at the moment and that is when he rattles in loads of points so reckon he could be good for 6+ tonight.....as for the Tom Selleck moustache he gets less points for that

  26. Most decent riders use their 1st race to weight up track conditions. Then there’s Bates.

  27. I'm sure Gavin can dig up who scored what previously against who and all that cobblers

  28. It is. But there's a difference between it being nice to ride, with no nasty surprises, to having the right set up to go fast.

  29. All injured riders should get some form of collection regardless of the severity of the injury, whether it makes £100 or £1000, it's the humane thing to do.

  30. might be even better when the pirates go round after the meeting to take the applause of the crowd after our narrow win

  31. Rode in the GP Qualifier at Glasgow recently using Ludvig Lindgrens bikes and with George Stancl as mechanic. Did indeed look impressive for his age and stage as a first time visitor.

  32. He is 35 and his average has gone down but probably pull out all the stops tomorrow on his debut. I know Wells hasn't been great at the NSS but not sure Tero will be any better.

  33. Quickest he went all night was when he rode across the centre green when he retired in heat 10

  34. Never mind , all's well with the world tonight . That's Glasgow 4 Edinburgh 0 this season . Score would have been bigger today had the wind not blown the tapes onto Sarjeant's front wheel

  36. I can only add that the referee (Paul Carrrington) actually SPECIFIED that there would be no ‘calling it’ if either team thought they had an advantage and wanted do so ... it was set in stone at 10.15pm and nothing else...hence why it was announced. . and with the match drawn at the point of that decision it really could have gone either way. As for commitment to getting in as many heats as possible, anyone that was there will tell you it was fast and furious and the action all the more hectic coz everyone knew it was a race against time! i’d say fair play...?

  37. To be honest the fans just want to see that the management are seen to be doing something. Recently loads of teams in both leagues are shuffling their packs as riders aren't performing. All we get is the same old crap. "Who can we get". I rather have a youngster in who will improve.

  38. It's getting that right rider though. That rider has to be available and on the right average. Also the rider has to be sensible and not demand stupid money. This isn't Fantasy League speedway, where every rider is available and will sign, it is a lot more complicated than that.

  39. He is usually 0/4 at most tracks

  40. Firstly hope Hans is ok after a terrible crash. Secondly well done to Ipswich who were the better team throughout. Sadly our season is already over as there are not enough fixtures to realistically get the 8 points back lost at home. I will continue to support them at home but will not be taking in any away meetings this year.Tungate was excellent again tonight and Proctor fought hard and scored well. The rest of the team were below par. Ipswich , however have a strong all round team and have a great chance of winning the league this year.

  42. Well we were without Covatti and NBJ who would have seen off Berge, and Richie’s rides picked a meagre 4 points. He would have done that or probably more judging by your team tonight. Have to say I don’t see BV in the playoffs. Hope I am wrong.

  44. Great pass by Klindt! Gollob style pass!

  45. Not knocking him just think it is a bit early in his development to think he can beat the likes of Becker or Etheridge, might easily beat Lidsey or Berge!. Be interesting to see how he goes.

  47. Birmingham were never ever going to sign Ben Barker. He asked for a team spot but was turned down. Far to much off track baggage as far as the management were concerned !!! that deal was muted and rejected as soon as Ben was released by Redcar

  48. Theres promise there but where do those riders rank against there Polish, Aus, Dan etc counterparts.. have a feeling they will end up closer to the likes of Auty, Howarth and Worrall as average British league riders as opposed to Bartek, Smektala, Kubera etc
