Jamie Swales was announced as new co-promoter. Certainly no stranger at Redcar, and currently oversees the Northern Junior League. A good appointment I think - and certainly good news for the Cubs I would imagine.6 points

Can we please have a reality check here. Do you think fans of Hackney, Cradley, Coventry, Reading, Workington etc etc would say "If you don't provide covered seating I am not going" I think they might say its a shame they haven't build facilities like Belle Vue but I HAVE MY TEAM BACK AND IM MIGHTY LUCKY. Please we are at a delicate stage and Im sure messages such as on here are read by interested parties, but if you feel so strongly about certain issues Im sure the landlord/Promotor will be very happy for you to put your hand in your own pocket and pay for them yourselves if you wont or cant, then please support those who are.5 points

I agree, and here's an example. Charles Wright: 2007: Workington (3.57) 2008: Workington (4.00) 2009: Workington (4.75) 2010: Redcar (4.64) 2011: Workington/Leicester (3.75) 2012: Edinburgh/Glasgow (4.05) ……... ……... 2019 Tops Peterboroughs averages in the Premier League Tops Redcars averages in the Championship. I think this was true of the old NL in the 70's you would get a few old time greats drop down at the end of their career's and do a season or two ,I remember watching Ken McKinlay helping riders in between races with setup in his Scunthorpe days ,got 9 paid 11 on the night aswell .2 points

Can only be a good thing for the sport., Maybe it can be a catalyst for it similar to the way 'marquee' signings helped the (then) struggling MLS in North America..? Top level competitors coming towards the end of their careers, but with still enough talent to compete, and a name and reputation that resonates outside the sport's own followers.. On the rare occasions I attend GB League Speedway I go to watch 'the speedway' with no regards as to who wins so the odd 'legend or two' on view will definitely stir my interest.. Hopefully do the same for a few more 'lapsed fans' around the country too..2 points

Fair play to them for making the track alterations hopefully this can be the catalyst for much improved racing and entertainment. I hope they are rewarded.1 point

He has been number three in the world and I don’t see him doing that again so yes I’d say his best days are behind him, his previously high British League standards dropped for Lynn in 2018 and Ipswich last year and he isn’t getting any younger. I expect him to do a good job for P’boro but it’s unlikely he’ll be the rider he was for Lynn 2012-16.1 point

PUK is still a GP rider so are his best days really behind him? How many GP riders are in the Premiership this season?1 point

Time will tell. I think Cook did enough last year to deserve another season and Puk’s best days are behind him so maybe Lynn they have made the right choice, maybe not. I expect averages and league positions at the end of the campaign will tell us all.1 point

So we’ll need a new man in charge and inevitably new ideas! If he can cope with the workload I think there’s only one man for the job. That is Barry Bishop! If that’s a conflict of interest then I think there’s another obvious appointment, if he has enough time on his hands: Connor Dugard!1 point

Several of the tracks I have been to have limited undercover seating so I take my own lightweight fold up seat and, if it looks like raining, some waterproofs. Simples!1 point

Since BMR made the track changes at Rye there is a lot more dirt down to work with, certainly more than I remember at Arena. I have practiced there in the afternoon and seen a really good track prepared for the evening that has produced good racing. They have to keep putting water down during practice to avoid dust for the neighbours anyway which must help a lot.1 point

I think the Panthers will do well whoever their number 7 is, as long as they use up the points. If Bomber, Hans and Scotty don't put a 2.5 points on their ave between them, i'd be shocked. Mostly Bomber and Hans. MPT looked fast at the back end of the season, I can see him holding his own. I think NKI will average 8. He will average over 7.5 away, and I can see him average at least 9 at home. Looking pretty good for the Panther imho.1 point

Surely he'd have been offered a place when the higher averaged BWD was in the team? Doesn't make sense to offer him a team place after the lower averaged Nicholls?1 point

Leigh would be a chip off the old block, a ‘rock’ performer who could ‘skate’ around the opposition and his line up in the ‘roe’ would add ‘sole’ to the team plus he could ‘crab’ the opportunity to ‘tuna’ in to the new ‘line’ up and would no doubt ‘net’ a whole load points on his way to being a ‘dab’ hand at landing a good haul of points. He would have a ‘whale’ of time but could end up ‘shelling’ out so many ‘pilchards’ and possibly could end up as a damp squid. ‘Fingers’ in so many pies and not too many ‘ wrasses’ to rely on an wining catch.1 point

Get the feeling he may change a couple to make us competitive if there is no obvious heat leader available.1 point

The fact that Jason Crump is riding premier league Speedway 2020 for Ipswich is due to a unique combination of circumstances! To compare this with any other situation is not a true comparison. Jason's tallent/record puts him in speedways all time top ten. Rejoyce all U.K. speedway fans Jason & Niki will be putting "bums on seats".1 point

They follow utterly and remorselessly the Chairman Mao style of management. Do as you are told.1 point

He averaged over 6 in Somerset's last PL season and again for Peterborough last year until his injury so he's clearly capable of more in the CL. I don't see much difference between him and Jake Allen tbh, last season together at Somerset in 2018 BWD averaged slightly higher, last season Allen similarly slightly higher.1 point

Fair play, many would dream of making such a video with their loved one. Great memories for them to look back on. I hardly think they were expecting 'critical acclaim'. In a world full of doom and gloom and negativity, nice to see something positive.1 point

I'm very sceptical that this proposed new Premiership Development League will even happen, and if it starts I doubt it will see the season out. People underestimate the amount of work voluteers running MDSL teams put in. (e.g. Carmarthen at Stoke the last few years). Organising to get 4 riders around the country, for no money, for every fixture takes considerable dedication, and I can't imagine Premiership promoters being willing to put in that level of work to make it happen. Will Ipswich be able to find 4 young kids to travel up to Belle Vue, for no money, on a Monday night? Will Sheffield be able to find 4 young kids to travel down to Swindon, for no money, on a Thursday night? The Premiership promoters will feel they have enough to worry about with the Belle Vue v Ipswich, and Swindon v Sheffield PL matches, without having to worry about finding riders for a 2nd half junior league. The second half leagues we've had with the MDL and MDSL over the past 10 years or so have produced numerous young British riders. We need these competitions if we are to develop young British talent, but I fear the BSPA "Bull in a China Shop" approach for 2020 is a huge mistake. Their killing of the MDSL will deprive kids of track time. Of course if the new league does succeed, then young British kids attached to the PL teams will have got good track time from 12 matches (6 home, 6 away). But will that happen??? Check back in October.1 point

The sheer hypocrisy of certain sections of the media regarding her passing is stunning, the same organisations and individuals that where having a go at her are now spouting sympathy about her death1 point

Not sure how true this is !!!. I'm hearing there's a new ruling in 2020. Each team is required to have 1 grandparent in their squad. Good luck for the coming season Nicki & Jason0 points

Probably going to be way, way, way off with my predictions as I am not the most familiar with this league. So I am using averages as a massive guide. 1. Scunthorpe 2. Birmingham 3. Leicester 4. Glasgow 5. Edinburgh 6. Eastbourne 7. Poole 8. Redcar 9. Kent 10. Berwick 11. Somerset 12. Newcastle0 points
