  1. "The best"? Workington were in the second division. Anyway, I can assure you that when Birmingham went into the NL in 2015, the racing was excellent, and served as a springboard to return to professional racing. Anyone who refuses to watch NL racing is merely cutting off their nose to spite their face.

  2. Nonsense. there has been times Woffindens bikes have looked twice as fast as anybody elses. IMO Madsen is an extremely well set up rider , extremely talented and the best in the world atm. he will be a world champion at least once. Bang average my arse

  3. It’s one thing having power in the bike but it’s got to be useable. The reason he gets his bikes out of corners fast is a skill of getting his wheels in line sooner rather then later. Ove Fundin was good at that. It’s documented he did not always have a fast bike, but he knew how to get the best out of the power he had - wheels in line ASAP is one track craft. Madsen is carrying some bad injuries. His back is not in good shape, delaying an op until he retires as it may make matters worse rather then better. So if he has a weaker meeting occasionally it is understandable. Riders are not machines, they are humans.

  4. Don't think he will be selected fro Poland. They have better under 21's and neither need nor want a Russian to ride in their SoN team. Russia could use him very well, of course. Not sure if he will be selected, but as long as he holds both nations' passports he would still be eligible to ride for Russia.

  5. OR the Championship could stop employing so many Div 1 riders and save some dosh while maintaining a v entertaining standard of racing

  6. The glaring issue there being guidelines are not complied with by many in the population.. You cant get people to stick to speed limits clearly sign posted so you've no chance to get them to follow 'self responsibility' guidelines.. "Not going to happen to me/I will be fine/These rules are for others, not me" is the mantra of many... And you also have to consider that many in the country are inherently thick so dont even understand what is going on around them.. Hence beaches are crammed full when the sun comes out, shops still have people entering without masks, and pubs are full of people sat next to each other when the "beer kicks in" and their worries and inhibitions are lost.. Whilst all this exists, the virus will always find a receptive host..

  7. There isn’t a shortage of riders. We try and run our leagues at a higher standard than the ability of the riders available. And then we allow them to race in both of our “professional” leagues anyway. Polish Speedway isn’t hurting British Speedway, British Speedway is hurting British Speedway.

  8. The looks of the 3rd/4th bend banks bothers me not. It’s a world class race track, that’s what matters. If the economic situation was different, if crowds of 5,000 was regular then I sure a stand could become a permanent feature. I think the UK speedway should be well pleased that with all that’s gone on in the last 12 years economically there has been one track opened up that gives world beating speedway racing. That’s a lot to celebrate.

  17. Some of the very best racing I have seen at the NSS has been delivered by the NL lads.. The days of 'wobblers' and 'all fall downers' are long gone... And a very reasonable admission price point too..

  18. I would turn up no probs as u say steve it depends how many others do but lets not put it down before it starts i wish the lad all the best will be one of the first in the queue on opening night .

  19. Surely NDL racing is better than NO racing? It may lead to the club moving up in the future, providing fans back it by turning up, of course?

  20. It’s not Madsen’s fault that he can set up his bike to work on parts of the track that the others can’t.How has he flattered to deceive over the last couple of seasons he was runner- up in the World Championship

  21. From a personal point of view, i am doing nothing different than i was at the height of the lockdown. I social distance, regularly wash my hands, wear a mask when required and avoid crowded places. It's not rocket science, is it?

  26. Despite the claim of BV to a world class venue - mainly true - the highly visible sight of cars parked around turns 3 and 4 does it give that 'track in a field' look which doesn't do much for the image and status of the place. If not terracing, it desperately needs something to block out those cars. Even advertising boardings would look better.

  36. All the more commendable and to think that Tom was only third choice after one of the selected riders turned down the opportunity to compete, who cited lack of racing in 2020. I would have thought any under 21 with aspirations would have jumped at the chance and gone out practicing in the UK as much as possible before the event. Looks like the future is looking bright for Tom.

  37. Madsen is the best rider in the world at the moment. Fast, skilful and determined. Favourite to be WC which he would have won before but for injury robbing him. Think you need to reassess your opinion. It is not correct.

  43. Slightly better meeting than the first but utterly predictable. A couple of decent races but Leszno far too strong and result never in doubt. Hopefully Sunday might provide us with something better than this.

  44. The way I look at this Rybnik side is they just chuck Lambert out 7 times a meeting in the hope to score more than 30 points most weeks.
    1 point
  45. If ROW Rybnik was a football team then the club would be fined every week for putting out an understrength side. Shocked how they're aloud to compete in the Ekstraliga with the squad they have.

  46. It may not completely stop the decline but if those in charge had the opportunity and the balls to hold their nerve, they would start addressing some issues including standardising the machines for league racing in this country. All rides have a choice as to where they ply their trade. In the U.K. we have nothing to gain by paying top dollar. A number of options are available to have standard bikes and if you get away from the expensive machinery you then are not held to ransom by riders over money. Riders to be classified according to their average and then impose a fixed fee per point and start with bonus paid for team riding a partner home. Review the average every two months. Until you get a grip with the variable costs of rider pay rates (fixed costs I would class as stadia, medical, insurance, track staff, referees etc all of which are probably standard and non-negotiable’ ) they are on a hiding to nothing. Control this cost and it might allow the promoter to fund the promotional side and perhaps offer incentives to the paying customer. The club owners may be to blame for many of the failings but the riders are a huge expense and this will remain out of control as long as the riders go for more and more expensive equipment. If you cannot get around a track on a standard machine and use your track craft and skills to win races rather then being a throttle merchant, then perhaps they should look for another job.

  49. Not sure how much time you think you have between a moment of losing control and the impact with something, it’s usually a split second and it’s not like you have a warning something is going to happen, you’re in full race mode and then bang, we see it tv in slow motion and think he should of done this or that but when you are the rider in real time you don’t get time to weigh up the options of what would be the best way to crash
