Well I asked Leigh Lanham a couple of weeks ago and he said no way! Very happy to stick to the chippy2 points

You have contradicted yourself. You assert the engines belonged to the BSPA and you assert that Godfrey gave them away. Godfrey is NOT the BSPA, so are you suggesting he appropriated BSPA assets to pass on to some mate in junior racing? (I don't think that was your intention, but it could be read that way)2 points

Lewis will be on good equipment this time, not like the Jawas that held him back last time2 points

There has been no Zoom Meeting nor AGM for the NDL. If there has been then Sings4speedway would be right in that IOW (and I assume Mildenhall/Plymouth too) have been excluded from any such Zoom Meeting or unofficial AGM/Pre AGM. And if there was a pre AGM without IOW knowing I would be particularly miffed as it was ME who got them introduced to the NDL midway through the season with a view to discuss what worked, what we need to improve and how to collectively move forward. As always keep well and safe in these tricky, troubling times.2 points

Speedway is not very complicated but still there are many varied ideas as to how it works to bring in a DLS type system would involve a lot of brain power. The British speedway nativity struggled to find 3 wise men this last Panto season2 points
-
Just imagine if those in charge brought in such a system... ? The mind boggles as to the amount of various rules, regulations, logistical data and permutations that they would come up with... And at the end of it all... Both teams would lose...2 points

Will the new rules and less overseas riders mean that some older riders may make some comebacks? We've already seen Lewis Bridger and Paul Hurry return to the sport, is there any other rumoured returns? Lewis Rose? Lewis Blackbird? What are all these lads up to these days. Would be interesting to see if more Brits come back out the cobwebs and surprise a few people.1 point

How would everyone feel about a Duckworth Lewis style formula to decide abandoned matches or even totally washed out fixtures. Not great for season ticket holders and lost earnings for riders but it would avoid matches being run on unfit tracks and end of season fixture congestion. Might be useful if league matches can't start in May as hoped. Roughly there'd be a mathematical formula to determine each riders match specific 'average'. The formula would take into account the riders average and recent form. Home for the home riders Away for the away riders. Could even include previous performance on the specific track. Importantly the formula and data would be visible so the match specific averages would be known pre match. Then the result of un-run heats would be determined based on riders match specific average. Worst idea ever?1 point

Rule 21/DLM/69 In the event of an abandonment the Management Committee will convene to allocate a maximum of 4 match points. Points will be allocated on the basis of a maximum of 2 points for the participants and a 2 point bonus for Scunthorpe. This Rule is unappealable1 point

So george isn't the only 1 who has tried to MANIPULATE You ! Wonder who else has which I find rather strange that somebody would even try or maybe another has just tried to stir the porridge bowl to cause an even BIGGER stir1 point

I don’t think ‘excited’ is the right word but I’m more intrigued about this signing than any other Lynn are likely to make as it could go one of two ways, the rest of the top six are riders who have been here and who we know all about.1 point

According to The BSPAs 2019 Final Green Sheet Averages Ryan Douglas is 8.31. Your list has him on 8.52.1 point

To be honest, I'm kind of resigned to the strength of the league this year after seeing so many riders opt out of their own accord. For example, I was concerned that Adam Ellis might not get a team, only to later discover he had opted out of the UK himself anyway. It now looks like the points limit wasn't as daft as I first thought, although I'm not sure about the number 7 rule - particularly as riders such as Anders Rowe already have a proper team slot anyway. I think that Covid and the Polish rules have effectively finished off top flight speedway in this country.1 point

I thought the number 7 had to be British so how can King's Lynn sign a native American1 point

What does it matter? They are all treated 2* riders from what you said - so they are basically 1* riders but treated like 2*.... clear as mud ey? I’ve said this before, the idea and theory behind this scheme is actually a good one. Like with most things done by the BSPL it seems like the execution is a bad and over complicated one to what should be a quite simple solution, effective and basic system.1 point

Its one thing the Polish speedway league allowing riders to ride in different leagues.... but a totally different matter to whether the Polish Government will allow it ( UK/ Danish/ Swedish governments too)1 point

Germany's top teenage speedway rider of 2021 is certainly the seventeen year old Norick Blödorn (MSC Brokstedt). By the way, Norick is the nephew of the former international speedway rider and world long-track champion Tommy Dunker. Here in Bavaria we also have a promising seventeen year old speedway rider in Erik Bachhuber (MSC Olching). Probably our hottest speedway prospect here in Bavaria since Martin Smolinski is a fourteen year old youngster by the name of Patrick Hyjek (born 28 May 2007). He has Polish-German parents (they originally come from Bydgoszcz), lives in Munich, and rides for the MSC Olching. Hyjek twice won the German 125cc speedway title in 2018 and 2019, was fourth in the FIM 125cc Gold Trophy. He switched to the 250cc class last year and was again nearly unbeatable, but due to the Corona virus there were no official championships held last year.1 point

There was only one speedway meeting in Ukraine last season, and it was an under 16 event. So difficult to comment much. Loktaev had a good season in Poland and GP challenge, Karpov rode in Poland, but is probably past his best. Levishin and Rozaliuk rode a handful of FIM under 21 events, but that's not much to go on1 point

Goret made good progress last season. I really rate Blodorn, while Ernst and Baumann also look to have promise. Hellstrom-Bangs is the standout Swede at the moment.1 point

As far as an app is concerned, the possibilities are endless. For example, how about each rider carries a helmet cam which fans can link to through the app, therefore experiencing the action first hand? Riders could also have a small digital display mounted on their handlebars on which supporters could send them messages during a race, such as "get your finger out", "how about team riding for a change", he's behind you", or "are you trying to artificially lower your average again so you can go back to Poole?!" Just a couple of ideas .1 point

In some cases probably both. This is not a criticism of the Promotion who do a fine job.It just fact that most modern day speedway youngsters don’t have the technical skills required to ride Armadale correctly.Even experienced riders have difficulty with modern day machinery.1 point

In fairness mate I'm protective over scunthorpe because I was born and bred there. It's the team I followed in the 70s and 80s and again since 2005. The club and its owner have been a major part in the development of my lad as a rider and for which we shall be eternally grateful. I make no secret of who I am and have said on many occasions that Luke Harrison the current 250cc champion is my son1 point

for the future of our sport we need more young people coming through the turnstiles, I'm all for 1 adult = 1 young person free, 2 adults 2 young persons free, etc etc, all other young persons pay £5 each, set the age as 15 and under and must have proof of age1 point

What accusation? I’m not suggesting he did anything illegal or immoral. They were his engines , he can do what he likes with them!0 points
