VFM could be better now.Klindt the gater can now be replaced with Crump,King,Heeps and Allen. You would get more VFM watching Allen in one race than you would watching Klindt in 4.Can't comment on Stewart as i have never seen him race. That is cynical Bagpuss, they normally announce these things on the parade4 points
-
Well that’s decided it for me, R/R a guest and a showery forecast means the chances of getting VFM for my twenty quid are a lot smaller. Cynical me also wonders why this was announced the day after tickets went on sale......4 points

Whilst ‘ established ‘ riders of Garcia’s standard may be harder to replace I still think R/R should not even be allowed in the NDL especially considering the outcry regarding riders being put out of teams due to the new lower points limit.3 points

Think you're mistaking cocky for quietly confident in our fantastic team of predominantly young British talent that we've been building since 2015 with more to come. Oh sorry that did sound rather cocky!3 points

From what I have heard their is some slack being given this year as travelling in and out of the country will undoubtedly cause problems for most teams at some points. I just hope that this slack is applied fairly to everyone and no one is allowed to take advantage.3 points

Dan Bewley & Brady Kurtz were able to travel from Poland for a practise so should be no problem with meetings.3 points

I’m hearing that the Cubs are to run with R/R for Halder for 28 days, ( I’ve been told this by a rider who has NDL experience from 2019 and is still looking for a place ) then so much for helping the youth as there’s still lads available that ( like my contact ) would jump at a place to show their ability. Poor decision by the club and governing body.2 points

TDTESS is also one of my favourite films. About ten years ago I contacted Billy Gray through his website and was very pleased to engage in communication with him for a short time. I remember asking him why he don't follow his fellow his compatriots over to the UK in the late seventies - I can't clearly remember his answer however. Seems amazing that someone appearing in a seminal science fiction film should go on to become a speedway rider! Bruce Penhall in reverse. Klaatu barada nikto2 points

Quite a few bad injuries to riders in Denmark last night , best wishes and a speedy recovery to all the riders involved2 points

Always impressed with the pre-season special. On the flip side, got withdrawals because there are no nostalgia articles.2 points

Lee Kilby does a fantastic job at Swindon, will do the same at Eastbourne. Good Luck for 2021 Eagles.2 points

Potentially anyone riding Poland on a Sunday and/or Denmark on a Wednesday - flights being the expected nightmare!!2 points

Amongst all the not unexpected (unfortunately) BS (when will the sport learn!) let's at least say welcome back Jake. I for one am glad he is in the team despite the circumstances2 points
-
Klindt out and replaced by Jake Allen permanently but Allen not available for this fixture. Jordan Stewart also missing. So it’s R/R for Klindt, and a guest yet to be named for Stewart. Great start!2 points

I wouldn't complain about any team winning the league, if it was full of young British talent !2 points

Or Julia Bradbury was good. Though must be a worry she would be late arriving as she seems to walk everywhere these days2 points

There are medical reasons for needing to eat on a regular basis. 'fat barr-stirred' syndrome is rife in this country2 points

Anyone but Eastbourne to be champions would please me. They are so "cocky" about their fantastic team of young British riders, most of whom seem to feature every week in Speedway Star .2 points

Just ordered tickets, I'll probably regret battling the chuffing M6 on a Bank Holiday Monday but the lure of my first live sport in over a year was too much! Couldn't wait for the Brummies opening fixture 10 days later. So it will no doubt rain, after all it's Manchester and a Bank Holiday Monday. Just looked at the septets, god good the Panthers average age must be nearly as old as I am. Let's hope Bewley has no issues getting back from Wroclaw's visit to FZG the day before. Any other riders due to ride in Poland the day before?1 point

You should make yourself known to Rob, he often makes a complementary comment about you.1 point

Nothing changes it seems in British Speedway.......... same old same old ......... the only thing that changes is the cost of admission and programme. Remarkable that the "premiership" still lumbers on with the appallingly low standard of racers now being paraded ....... guess it just allows the promoters to charge higher admission fees compared to the championship. No idea why it now costs more to stage 15 heats in the premiership than the championship ........1 point

I could be very wrong but, if he hasn't rode an official match for the club, you can't use r/r. Please correct me if I am wrong.1 point

Commitment is everything to us fans. And these two making a show for P&P shows they will put everything on the line for us. This is great to see. Great to see. Gonna be a good season for us. And don't they bloody look good. Cant wait for Monday1 point

And people pay 20 quid for this. There was Hawkeye targeting taking all the points. Shame he didn’t devote more attention to putting 7 riders out.1 point

Oh didn't realise that,ok i will swap Allen for Heeps and say you would get more VFM watching Heeps in 1 race than you would Klindt in 4 If i thought properly about it Ipswich wouldn't be allowed to get away with Allen replacing Klindt and also using R/R for him would they1 point

Correct,,, then no one can say this team had this and another team had something different1 point

Excellent and I am sure the club shop on a Saturday night will prove popular with a new range of merchandise, but just think how much more business the club could have done from the one day opening last December to now, especially with just a couple of weeks to the start of the season.1 point

Sky started off with 3 hours initially didn't they but went to two as they struggled to fill the time, and the fans moaned it took too long to complete the meetings when they were at the track.. Maybe if Eurosport have screens at the tracks, so those there can watch the interviews and analysis between races it would help...? I remember the 3 hour Sky matches and they did drag, so much so I eventually didn't bother attending them.. And lots of empty spaces doesn't look good when trying to sell the sport... It does look like there has been some thought and planning gone into their production so let's hope it proves a catalyst for better times for the sport..1 point

More a case of thanking Covid because make no mistake this would have happened but for the lack of a season's racing. Management were entrenched and blinkered so fortunately they got breathing space and someone more empathetic came on board. Irrespective though, the right decision was made so credit where it's due as you say. Hopefully your wife will have enough good days to allow you both to attend.1 point

I watch most of it on FFWD the next day, the beauty of Speedway is you're most unlikely to hear the result before you watch it especially Polish Speedway lol. It's not been VFM so far this season with around 50% of the matches so far being postponed and others being shown on FreeSports. I can't see myself returning next year, as long as life returns to something like normality, but in the mean time I'm happy to pay a tenner a month for some Speedway1 point

Thank You for clearing that up Mrs Widman, So do you think that his mind may be changed about 2021 if it was at his local club ? ( Maybe he could do a double signing and ride for the Cubs and supply the burgers & sausages that currently taste like cardboard)1 point
