I think Nige and Kelvin do a really good job. They're enthusiastic and entertaining and if they were replaced by someone else you'd really then appreciate how good they actually are. Just my opinion.10 points

No surprise to see Rowe start well, I've said it before but it's impressive how every time he steps up a level he makes it look easy. Not by hitting big eye-catching scores every week but just quietly going about his business even when on paper you might say it's possibly too early for him. His NL average wasn't great when he signed for Somerset in the Championship but he did well enough to move up to number 2 within a few months. Pretty much everyone expected him to struggle there but a couple of meetings in he was beating Craig Cook in Heat 1 and finished that season with an excellent debut for GB in the test match against Denmark. Seemed to make a steady start to his Polish career last year too. For some reason he doesn't get talked about as often as others in his age group but maybe going under the radar slightly without the hype is a good thing.7 points

Watching Speedway without 'Hinge and Bracket' just wouldn't be the same... Great to have them and the Speedway back... Excellent meeting as a starter for Eurosport, let's hope Monmore Green can deliver a similar standard of racing next week... Very good overall presentation from Eurosport too, with quite a few various camera angles... Took a while to get the levels of commentary right given the noise of the bikes when passing the commentary position, (never thought I would think that with Nigel and Kelvin)!! Maybe get Abi and Scott off the centre green sat in front of some sponsors boards? Like they do in Poland.. Three hours of coverage for some company wanting it? The only sponsor boards were behind Steve Brandon who was on screen much less than Abi and Scott... Lots to be optimistic about regarding the Eurosport coverage of the sport I would say.. And with only six teams the NSS should be shown quite a few times which is never a bad thing to promote the sport..5 points

Watches one match and is now an expert on the Belle Vue track. It’s nothing like any other UK track , which, if you had bothered to watch any other matches from there, you would have known . But at least now you won’t bother watching any more matches so you won’t be giving us another deep insight into track layouts.4 points

Thank you for your kind words regarding Anders, I am so pleased to be helping him out with a couple of new engines this year. He and his dad Del are working tirelessly to move forward, I honestly believe he will be in the Ewinner league in Poland next year.4 points

I thought the coverage last night was great! The Pearson and Tatum combination works well for me, good banter and so what if there is the odd mistake! Scott Nicholls is so at ease and professional at his job, whilst Abi is no Natalie Quirk give her a bit of time to settle into the role. Good to see the housewives favourite David Rowe updating from Kings Lynn as well. Overall, a very encouraging start to Eurosport's coverage - I hope they got decent viewing figures.4 points

I don’t think it’s a speedway problem. I’m currently on holiday at a British leisure park (quite an upmarket one) They have gone above and beyond with all the guidelines and protocols but last night there were loads of people breaking the rules despite the staff politely asking them not to. Sadly 100%of those doing so we’re of pension age. I really feel for younger people who have been locked down to protect them and then have to watch the oldies flout the guidelines. Rant over4 points

I've always thought it was a broadside "with the side turned in a particular direction. "the yacht was drifting broadside to the wind" They also showed the score at one point as something like 62-32, this was about half way through the meeting directly after a heat, or were they giving heat times? I only noticed it once.3 points

Cricket has plenty of stats thrown at the viewer so maybe Speedway could do overall rider averages, home and away averages, their averages at individual tracks, % of race wins to races competed in etc etc. It could add another dimension to the viewer watching.. And provide discussion points in the breaks between races.. Poland now show how far and how fast the riders have rode and their reaction times... Anything that pricks interest has to be considered I would say..3 points

Where did you get all that?Guess you weren't there. Tickets weren't available at the gate afaik, there were signs saying so.Track and trace were on the QR code weren't they. Thought capacity at Lynn was over 8000,so well within the Government guidelines. Plenty of marshalls there telling people to pull their masks up and distance.Although some chose delaying tactics. It was hard to distance with some obviously not seeing people for 20 months. All in all on that one well done Lynn.Shame about the team performance.3 points

Very concerned about the alleged contravention covid 19 crowd limits at KingsLynn. Were tickets available for purchase at the gate? Were track and trace details taken? What is the crowd limit at Kings Lynn ? How is the attendance verified ? Sounds like a lack of marshalling to maintain social distancing. None of which encourages me to attend ANY speedway meeting just yet. ☹️3 points

Don’t like the ticketing method at all. Means I have little chance of attending, unless I buy 6 or 4 tickets. Doubt single or double tickets will go on sale meaning many fans could miss out.2 points

Hope I'm wrong but I doubt there will be wholesale dropping of "Covid Mitigation's in the stadium" as you put it any time soon; I think there will still be restrictions and protocols to be adhered to right up until Christmas and maybe even beyond that; such as masks and spacing etc hopefully all less intrusive than the current regulations... Your last line is spot on and I think as everyone is tired and fed up with the current situation; hopefully the streaming works for Glasgow and that all these "Stricter Measures" are temporary but I don't think we are out of the Covid woods by any stretch of the imagination yet... Also if Buffoon Boris lifts certain restrictions Nippy Sturgeon will probably not follow suit just to be awkward... Regards THJ2 points

Dismiss the Gladiators at your peril. The promoter Mark Phillips and his helpers have worked tirelessly to improve the track and grounds and have made a splendid job of it. There two fixtures in 2020 under Covid restrictions were faultless. Getting a late call up to the Championship hasn’t helped putting a team together but to tempt Crump and Pedersen is quite a coup - albeit probably costly. The rest may take time to settle but their reserves are good and the smallest track in the country can be a good leveller so an exciting meeting is in prospect which could go either way. It is now possible to park within the stadium confines for £2 or you can use the adjacent park and ride parking for free and enjoy ‘the walk down the country path’ to the track which is about 300 yards.2 points

Schroeck used to come out with the same nonsense when he was TM at Rye House. Awful TM who is afraid to take reserves out of rides and completely miss T/S opportunities.2 points

Yeah! A Norfolk Rocker and we saw off those namby pamby mods at Yarmouth, that's for sure! I remember the enormous great cheer as a scooter was thrown into the sea, best place for it - some say.2 points

One thing I would like to see, is they get some younger people to sit together,,, and show them when showing the crowd,,, instead of always a load of oldies with blankets and ovaltine2 points

Where is he getting slagged off.All i did was answer all his concerns as i see it last night. You get more problems going into a supermarket or petrol station with people not wearing masks or social distancing than you did last night, and most of the stadium is in the open air where it's meant to be better according to the Government.2 points

KL Management did their best as far as I could tell to comply with rules imposed by local council. Regrettably in the grandstand where it was quite clear the first row was not in use, a few decided to ignore this and remove the ropes and barriers. Despite what individual views on social distancing may be, I do not thing that sort of behaviour is acceptable.2 points

An excellent standard of coverage from Eurosport I thought. One positive thing which struck me and which I hope carries on, was the welcome absence of the pointless interviews with the riders during the course of the meeting - "Yeah, I'm taking each race as it comes and we'll see how it goes", type of thing which I always find quite irksome.2 points

As far as I am aware stadiums can hold 50% of capacity. I was there and if that is the case no problems with braking covid rules as although a good crowd it definitely was not more than half full. some just want to slag off promoters2 points

I've just got back from lynn and what an excellent performance that was. Yes we were a bit leggy towards the end but the hard work was done in the first 10 heats. Since 2019 we seemed to have got that hunger and desire back to want to win again. And lets be honest most of us probably predicted a defeat with a weakened team. For me this bodes well for another good season and hopefully back to full strength on Thursday. Let's keep the faith and well done to Richie and Chris.2 points

Not a bad meeting in the end, some good racing and bend 4 seemed to have some super grip if you hit it right that would propel you forward an extra 20 yards. Anders Rowe, brilliant. What can you say he won Ipswich the match.Roll on the SON in a couple of years. Kinsley will struggle like most of us thought, whilst there were better riders to choose. But he is one of Allitts boys Proctor was very poor.Ok he needs more than one match, but he has to be more professional and turn up before 19:30.That was disgraceful and should be fined for that.If the match had started on time he wouldn't have And with a bit of luck we could have won with Kerr's e/f being critical. Let's not forget our poor management too,do they really know our riders.Heat 7 6pts down tac sub time,of course not.Jorgensen flying at the time, loves a wet track stick him in,no we don't want to do that.Ipswich used their noddle,i even called itDanny King ht1 R/R again loves wet track get out there get 3pts.Well done Hawkins. So a culmination of a few things and we could get better, but i do feel these will be the bottom 2 in the league.I hope they would be the top 2 and get in the final, that would be something else. Was the crowd really restricted to 1000.That's the biggest crowd of seen in a while 2,000-2,500 maybe, what do others think?2 points

I thought the coverage by Eurosport was as good as any I have seen, if every meeting is covered like this it will only be good for speedway. That Belle Vue stadium and track is superb. I do not know if it was my imagination but there appeared to be far less gardening and general messing about at the tapes and the meeting was more fluent than many I have seen.2 points

........... and for those wanting to see team kevlars this season although not on Eurosport but probably YouTube at some point in the next few days, you will see Kings Lynn v Ipswich resplendent in matching kevlars with Ipswich using r/r & a guest wearing Peterborough kevlars.2 points

Don't be mean, Rob surely knew he was on dodgy ground when he googled broadslide and all it came up with was the option to automatically change it to broadside, or that magazine link. It was broadside when I was a kid and it's never changed.1 point

Chuffed to bits Doris i have always rated Anders and a guy who has been on the gate at Swindon Ray longterm has always supported him rated him.Exciting times Anders will have a good career at speedway what level we will see can't wait to find out.1 point

I too noticed the age group of most of the fans in the main stand, nothing against them as I am an oldie too. What an opportunity considering the amount of Funeral Planning advertising there is these days, to get some sponsorship for speedway, a ready and nearly there audience.1 point

I can assure you Edinburgh will be streaming every meeting this season. Once full crowds are back there will be a geographical restriction. I’m amazed there seem to be so few others doing it.1 point

The excitement had been quashed by having no fans in the stadium for an undetermined time. There is no substitute for visiting the track, and whilst streaming is appreciated as it gets us going again, its a distant second choice.1 point

Lot's to be encouraged about there for King's Lynn. If they can get Bridger & Proctor going they may not be as dead as some think, at least at home.1 point

Cut Pearson and Taum some slack. They haven't been commentating in Poland. Must be nervous. You know you can't just pick up a mic and speak sense at your first meeting after a long lay off. You need time to get your cliches up to the tapes. Anyway, it was a good match and I've heard a lot worse. Glad to see the reserves s and Rising stars competitive.1 point

Tim Stone (Newport) did a 'Leicester and Belle Vue', sadly died and the replacement promoters balls'd it up! It is not only the deep pockets that count , but the adeptness of the promoter! Of course, Cradley stadium was owned by the Pughs and I seem to recall a son was racing at the time, when they sold the stadium to Barratt's. Coventry was shafted by the owner. Being an owner of a speedway stadium guarantees nothing, when big money is on the table. I seem to recall John Davis didn't do Weymouth any favours!1 point
