I have my ticket for Sunday and will be there . Its a joke I have to travel all over the country to see speedway when I'm not allowed into my local track5 points

TMW is right. You need to look at the full circumstances before judging the Isle of Wight promotion - I haven't seen anyone yet try to defend the decision making process that led both to the points limit and the Warriors withdrawal. Nor have I seen a Warriors fan who is anything but 100% behind the decision they have taken (and there are many others who agree). Truth is, the stupidity, incompetence and selfishness of certain members of the BSPL may have caused the loss of by far and away the most innovative and customer focussed promotion in Britain at a point when we need every track we can get. In any case, Isle of Wight can still have an excellent season without needing the attraction of a Championship match to ensure an adequate attendance - if the apparent (and illegal) threats of fines and bans being given to riders are dropped.5 points

Mr Rising will the Speedway Star be chasing up interviews with members of the BSPL commitee to find out the reasoning behind the sudden stop on riders racing on the IOW #IstandwiththeIOW4 points

Thank god that’s over. Be difficult to have another meeting as bad on tv for the rest of the season. Massive blue grooves on all bends.3 points

Unfortunately a lot of last nights rules were down to Newcastle City Council and ARC racing. Case of everyone jumping through hoops to please these. Agree not ideal but out of the promotions hands3 points

It’s not ‘Willy nilly’ though there is an agreed order of what takes priority across European speedway and cup matches fall below league matches on it. If this had been a league match Sam would have been there as he was at Redcar last Sunday despite his polish club having a match at the same time3 points

I wouldn't write Ipswich off here. Though the BV fans would want to see Crump, Cook is a better rider and strengthens them. Similarly Heeps is nothing special around the NSS, but Summers has had his moments and offers more potentially. Allen and the reserves taking RR will way outscore any odd point Stewart would have picked up. King and Allen both like the NSS, and Rowe and Kemp are very good around there and capable of big scores.3 points

I don’t get why masks should be worn outdoors. The advice is you can’t can’t catch it outdoors so seems a bit ridiculous.2 points

“Thanks for your enquiry. Currently we are awaiting a decision from the local council before we can advise if spectators are allowed into the Stadium for the meeting on Friday. As soon as the decision is made it will be posted on our website and through social media.” Doesn’t take much really and it’s better than ignoring genuine fan enquiries. (This is not a Glasgow club statement btw but they can cut and paste it if they like )2 points

I have to say I'm still struggling with the image of Josh Bates in his pants.2 points

to be fair, one of his riders just got hurt and they grab him for an interview before he's even spoken to the rider!2 points

Even if proctor gets sacked knowing the useless prats in charge they will still sign him next season saying he has unfinished business lol2 points

Well I checked the Eurosport schedule the last 2 days and this morning on the Eurosport website and it had Peterborough v Lynn on,and on the Sky schedule.2 points

I was upstairs in the restaurant area and I could see various people in high viz jackets constantly walking around. Whether or not they were advising people or checking up I don’t know. There were also council representatives in every area and indeed there were two sitting just along from us monitoring the situation upstairs. There were also constant announcements made via Barry Wallace. One final point you also have to take on board people’s acceptance or indeed reluctance of the rules and regulations. Like I said previously not ideal but considering everything I thought it went ok. Hopefully things will return to a more normal soon enough. Fingers crossed people still attend.2 points

And if the riders were NDL heat leaders then the Championship would be 'Donald Ducked' too... Which is strangely synergetic given the 'Mickey Mouse' aspect of how this sport can often be ran...2 points
-
Surely it should be cheaper to buy a ticket ahead? Your basically committing yourself to going which for a sport that can be easily affected by the weather and last minute line up changes is quite a big thing.2 points

At Berwick x1, at Leicester x4, at Newcastle x 8 (although 4 was same person). A rider making his Debut at Newcastle scored 5+3 just by staying aboard and picking up scraps. Im not saying there isn't racing and passes taking place because that isn't true but in the majority its because the lesser riders hop out of the start and then get passed by the better quality riders. Looking at next season these lesser quality riders will still be signed as 2nd strings and even 3rd heat leaders with new rookies coming in. Wind forward a year or two and the likes of Watson or Rothery could have averages that force them to be number 1's but will they have improved enough to be of similar standard to what Flint or Bickley are now? If yes then the system works but if the more likely no then there is an even poorer product attempting to be sold to the public.2 points

I've just looked on the Kings Lynn web site where you would think all the latest news about tonights match and Lewis's injury would be, and what do I get....nothing! There is news from Lewis on his Twitter feed, but come on Lynn what's the point of a web site that's not up to date on race day? I learn more from this Forum to be honest.2 points

Bates "should" be destroying the averages but has been very poor thus far and being shown up by riders really grabbing the chance. Brennan has been unlucky not have more points and been very competitive and Rowe showing his class by opting out of the scheme and doing his own thing....certainly did Rob Lambert no harm2 points

Look at it from the promotors view - they will say they keeping entry prices as low as possible, then up pops COVID. They introduce on line booking because inevitably payment as you turn up most people will want to pay cash, but with COVID that dirty money. Taking a booking on line costs admin time, admin has to be paid for hence 50p. Let’s say wage of admin is £8 per hour, that means sixteen 50p’s per hour which equates to 3min 45secs per telephone booking. I think that seems about fair, it’s not the promotors fault, and it’s not the fans fault COVID precautions are in place, but still has to be paid for.2 points

You tend to need read the whole story to understand where the IOW are coming from. The 35 point limit is just one factor and it’s well documented it’s about BSPL dictatorship and dictating to them how their business will run with absolutely no engagement apart from ‘Yo knew this was coming’ probably some of the most chilling words I’ve ever heard !!2 points

It's a shame there aren't any plug sockets in the main grandstand. I could have brought my laptop and finished my work off.2 points

A very big well done to Adam roynon on top scoring for the diamonds especially after all the injuries and problems he,s had, still can be a class act in my opinion, well done Adam.2 points

People who take the knee aren't booed because they receive racial abuse but because they do so in support of a decidedly dubious movement, many of whose members are as racist as anybody they protest against not forgetting the whole take a knee nonsense was inspired by the death of a career criminal. I have no issues with anybody wanting equality, everybody deserves it and it should be offered unconditionally by all. However I have always had doubts that the way to gain equality for anybody is for a relatively small minority of a minority to behave outrageously. I would go out of my way to back any individuals right to be treated in the same way as others but that includes the need to avoid the positive discrimination demanded by the more extreme minority groups. Equality will only come from the majority mixing with minorities on equal terms, we have come a very long way in the past few decades because of that but all BLM and the more outrageous Gay pride events do is create further division. Equality comes from people not caring about the race, religion or sexuality of others. Standing up and screaming 'look at me I'm not the same as you' achieves nothing good.2 points

Monmore can produce some great racing, but it needs to be prepared right & have riders that are not intimidated by it. There is sadly a lack of such riders in the UK league.1 point

13 from 5 rides today for Eastbourne from Tom Brennan. Don't forget he missed most of 2019 with a bad leg break and of course most of 2020 due to covid. This lad looks a top prospect1 point

Yes you're absolutely correct in my opinion, it would be "what about me?" When I was at school 40 odd years ago I remember the girls protesting that the uniform code was sexist as they couldn't wear trousers and it was changed. So then all the boys turned up the next day wearing skirts. Did they really want to wear skirts? No. Did they do it because they were sexist and hate women? No. It was as you say, "what about me?" If it's been accepted that it's sexist for girls to have to wear skirts then it's sexist for boys to have to wear trousers, that was the point. This is the same mentality where people are saying, we've indulged you in celebrating your sexuality, what about me? Sad maybe? But not right wing, homophobic etc.1 point
