Guzumped talk to me! There I was in the log cabin concluding a deal with Busty for Jimmy Lynch & Main Man Rogers to be his team managers, when this dude in his XR3i shows up, shouting “sold it geezer! 1.5% commission, it didn’t even go on right move, where do I put my board?” Slick back hair, suit from Next and shiny shoes from Barrats! I couldn’t compare with such suave! Before I know it Busty offers him the job there and then! Main Man Rogers is heartbroken had his resignation to Mase typed up too! I’ve assured Main Man Rogers and Jimmy Lynch I’m slipping Busty a few hundred quid to sponsor the Stars next year! On the proviso that T Tibbs Motors Europe Limited’s operations director Jimmy Lynch is named Team Manager and our head of customer relations Main Man Rogers will be his assistant. I’ll even throw in a lovely Renault Clio Convertible for Big Dale! You know it’s a deal you can’t refuse Busty!!!3 points

Let's hope we can discuss all things speedway without the petty bickering and name calling..... Probably a mistake coming back after so long away from the sport I think people would rather remember him as he was when he retired.2 points

Thanks to the guys at Mildenhall we at least have a preview for Saturday`s meeting. From Mildenhall Speedway - Fen Tigers head North in search of League points This Saturday evening, the Mildenhall Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, head to Berwick in search of important League points following Sunday’s close home defeat to Kent. For a second meeting running the Fen Tigers will be without No 1 Jason Edwards who is with Eastbourne on Championship duty and will also miss Captain Jordan Jenkins who after bravely riding over the weekend has suffered further issues with his wrist and has wisely decided to rest for 12 days and will look to return to the Fen Tigers colours on Sunday 1st August. Edwards absence will be covered by Armadale’s Danny Phillips whilst Jenkins will be covered by Rider Replacement. Team Manager Malcolm Vasey said – “Losing Jason for a second meeting is obviously disappointing, but with a heavily delayed start to the season due to covid, the best part of 20 rain offs already in the Championship, and a cut off date in that league of September 19th clubs are struggling to fulfil their fixtures and we are suffering for this just now. I know Jason is desperate to ride for us and no blame is attached to him, Jordan rode with the heart of a lion over the weekend showing immense courage, but has to be sensible as we would not want him out for a long period of time and we fully support his decision. Injuries are part and parcel of this wonderful sport and that’s now two riders we are missing from our starting seven. We still await concrete news from Arran Butcher but his injury is taking longer to heal than we hoped and it may be a while yet before he is in contention for a team spot. We know it will be no easy task at Berwick, but if we can make a faster start than we did on Sunday I feel confident we have a good chance of bringing some points back to West Row” The club are currently working with the Berwick management to find a suitable date for the rained off home NDL fixture and hope to be able to advise supporters in the next week of a new date. Teams – Berwick Bullets - 1 Kyle Bickley 8.57 (C), 2 Mason Watson 4.30, 3 Luke Crang 6.41, 4 Kieran Douglas 3.83, 5 Greg Blair 7.41, 6 Ryan MacDonald 3.00, 7 Ben Rathbone 3.83 Fen Tigers - 1.Danny Phillips 7.53, 2 R/R (Jordan Jenkins) 6.55, 3 Elliot Kelly 3.62, 4 Luke Ruddick 6.67, 5 Sam Bebee 4.25, 6 Sam Hagon 3.00, 7 Luke Muff 3.002 points

Wouldn't take any notice of the companies house declarations. I am sure that all clubs have a good accountant to present the figures that suit their circumstances. In a largely cash based system who really knows what comes in and what goes out ? Most clubs are run by volunteers with a few cash paid staff. As has been said earlier, if a promoter was actually paying out £100k from his own pocket to keep a speedway club afloat he wouldn't do it twice. They must be making a living out of being a speedway promoter. Not a fortune maybe , but they certainly are not shellling out £100k a year from thier own pockets to promote a speedway club. Individual meetings bit the dust years ago when the cheap skates decided on a 12 heat format. If someone put up a new bike as a prize (a la Internationale) and run a 20 heat format with some star riders taking part the crowds would come to watch.2 points

Gradings never work (as has been proven before) because of the value range of a grade. Teams will always go for the highest rider in a grade, as was seen before, and you could have a disparity between the top and bottom teams of around 4 - 5 points.2 points

Interesting to read the comments re the track. Attended as a neutral. Thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. I have definitely seen better racing at Peterborough but still thought it was very watchable. A number of the races without passing were still very close. In addition, for there to be no dust on such a hot day was something that the track staff should be proud of. A few digs at Buster Chapman on here but I have also been to Kings Lynn this season and the racing was excellent.2 points

That’s a pretty bizarre thing to say and makes zero sense in all honesty. The bloke’s last meeting for Ipswich was a flawless 15 point maximum where he looked head and shoulders above everyone else on the night. If Cook should give the top league up and “just concentrate on the CL”, then 90% of the others in the top flight should do also! Not your smartest contribution Steve.2 points

Les Collins, Michael Coles & Kenny McKinna all rode for Edinburgh in 1992. Their sons Aiden Collins, Adam McKinna and Connor Coles all rode for the monarchs at some time.2 points

A tight, grippy track was never going to suit Crump tonight so soon after big injuries, so unfortunately we didn’t see the best of him this evening. Cook can clearly cut it at Prem level, as he has shown repeatedly this season, so we will have to differ on that one, old mate!2 points

Indeed, if folk cant front up after a defeat they don't deserve to post stuff like that.2 points

It’s more the frustration that you have two experienced riders that you know have the pedigree but for whatever reason it is just not happening for them. The promotion will see this also and do what is best for the team , wether they persevere with them remains to be seen.1 point

BIRMINGHAM are thrilled to confirm pay om the gate admission will return for Wednesday's cup tie with Redcar at Perry Barr (7.30).Approval has been given for supporters to arrive and pay cash or card which means it is not necessary from now on to buy in advance. It's the news the club have been waiting for with many of the older fans unable to attend previously due to no internet access.Club co-owner Peter Mason said: "This news has come a massive boost to us and we now need to see the supporters turning out in force."The weather forecast remains solid and we are in for a great night of racing on Wednesday."It will also be good to see some younger fans now the school holidays are here and I hope families come along for a great night out."1 point

Hasn’t done anything in the top flight before. To replace Batchelor?? Most bizarre move if that was to happen and would guarantee bottom spot.1 point

Speedway promoters are a slippery lot and many of Speedway's problems could be aligned with their attitude to riders, supporters and the sport in general.1 point

BL65 you have excelled yourself!!! thanx for all the work you have put in. Not surprised that Long Eaton would have climbed up the table-as you say they had won some away fixtures but were sadly decimated by injuries. Sad to see Newport drop from 6th to 13th-should have kept my big trap shut!!. Seriously thank you for all the effort this must have taken-it is always a pleasure to read your posts- if I ever get back to the UK will buy you and compost a beer(Plus for you Norbold an orange juice-since you have foresworn the evil grape). Cheers to all..1 point

belle vue put out post saying he was ill this morning but then changed it to having hurt his ankle at his last meeting in the afternoon because if it was a non speedway related injury he would have to sit out for 7 days lol Joe lawlor back unless he falls and hurts his wrist or eats a dodgy burger lol lol1 point

As a neutral, I quite enjoyed that. Dad's Army were beaten by the much younger and better team on the night. That's all..1 point

Crap race track tonight..no outside line...suits B.Vue who have their gating gloves on tonight.... actually I'd go as far as to say a p** poor performance from our lads..beaten at the gate in nearly every race... hopefully this will give them a kick up the arse for the rest of the season.1 point

These are only the figures they accounted for, if the world goes cashless then Speedway will be over If these were true losses they wouldn't do it Most probably saying they got 300 in the gate when it's more like 900, speedway is small enough to get away with being investigated1 point

Leicester were excellent value yesterday and Dan Thompson at reserve was the difference. Also must applaud the team riding of Dan Thompson by Scott Nicholls in heat 11 . shepherded him for all 4 laps. Many riders would of disappeared into the distance which may of allowed Lewi Kerr to get past but Nicholls was sublime in riding the inside line. Nigel Pearson would of approved hopefully re-run or British Speedway put this up on social media because it was excellent. AS for the track preperation that has been an artform for years at Arlington , I don't see it changing any.1 point

Let’s hope Brady doesn’t accept the infamous Calculator Mainman Rogers had in his brief spell at the Club. Then again being an Estate Agent he might know how to use it correctly.1 point

To partially quote an earlier poster, with my comment in italic. "you have to hand it to the Eagles management for their track preparation" Good to be vindicated for something I knew always happened at Arlo ........ prepping the track riding lines to suit the home team happens everywhere, but doctoring the start grids is a step too far in unsportsmanlike behaviour. The "seagulls" took a pasting in part 2 as well I see in the training meeting.1 point

Just wish that they all knew that Marcelina is Marcelina and not the 3+ different versions given over the weekend since she married a few weeks ago she must have the longest surname in Speedway Rutkowska- Konikiewicz. edit she does seem to call herself Marcela on instagram !1 point

I believe Rob Lyon was a car salesman when he was appointed team manger, I don’t think he’s done too bad a job. i understand Brady has been a fan for 25 years, given that fans on here think they know better than many team managers, I suggest he has the perfect qualifications1 point

Too expensive, too boring, too many costly foreign riders, too many anoraks and too many midweek meetings. Couldn't agree more. Greedy riders and promoters expecting a couple to split with £45+ on windswept Monday night.....get real.1 point

hawks1975, I could not agree more. I thought that the match against Redcar was a terrific entertainment and at one point I thought that the Kings just might get a result. While that turned out to be too optimistic, there were still a lot of plusses. Old Bob at Herne Bay should actually stop criticising from afar and failing to support his local team. Take the trouble to get out of your armchair, turn off the telly and enjoy what Hawks, myself and hundreds of others are enjoying at Central Park.1 point

For me Bruce Penhall. Speedway was a big loser when he retired. We could do with a few more like him these days.1 point
