Someone make sure Phil Morris doesn’t interfere with track preparation for this weekend!11 points

Nobody's bottling anything, we're witnessing a thrilling speedway meeting, no quarter asked, none given. Just enjoy it instead of gobbing off.9 points

After ready pages and pages of vitriol the only thing I’ll say is that Adam presented his racing schedule (as all riders do) before he signed. Before he turned a wheel for Scunthorpe it was always known he had a meeting yesterday. Ok boys and girls you can get back to your bïtching now, but maybe try to think a little before you all slag off on a rider8 points

Why does Kingofthetrack and Keirstarmerfan have two accounts when they are clearly the same person?6 points

Why haven’t Leicester chosen to ride on Friday evening? No clash and keeps all fans happy. They ludicrous choice of riding against the SON is stupid.5 points
-
Wouldn't worry about it those complaining are those who want to stick the knife into speedway and it's organisers .5 points

Yup. You haven’t read what’s happening. And seeing the above post you really are as thick as shît Riding at a pre arranged meeting before he’d even signed a contract means it does take priority. If you’re not clever enough to understand the situation then no amount of explaining will get through your thick skull i’m glad the season is nearly over as I won’t have to interact with twunts like you . And people wonder why British speedway is laughed about when people like you are a prime example of « fans » Yes I’ve met loads of brilliant people following speedway unfortunately I’ve also met people like you. to the fans who’ve apologized after thé true facts were known, Thanks. To you pinny, I hope you seek the professional help you need. It must be hard being that thick. I’m out of here folks, it’s great to interact from time to time with real fans but people like Pinny are the reason that most riders avoid this place like the plague.4 points

Well done all... A truly great nights racing... Topped off by amazing team riding... Even if Thursday is half as good it will be a cracker...4 points

Choosing 2 riders who haven't ridden the track for 3 years instead of one who is racing it most weeks including twice in last 7 days and is track record holder.4 points

No Conspiracy theory, the facts are the Rob Godfrey allegedly said Adam Ellis was ill, when in fact according to the riders dad he knew all along that Adam Ellis was unavailable for this meeting due to other commitments, that in itself is bad enough but to have have come from the BSPL Chairman makes it even worse. Now the Teams for tomorrow ?.4 points

Thought the SON was a two day event, both Saturday and Sunday.4 points

That was one of the all-time great speedway meetings at the NSS tonight. Fantastic stuff...3 points

This is dangerous thinking. I'm assuming you've forgotten about David Nix, a young rider many years ago was suffering from concussion and was riding at conference league level for king's Lynn, he blacked out on track and died as a result. Riders should 100% not be allowed to ride with an existing concussion. It's just not worth the risk.3 points

What a fantastic meeting! Wembley 81 was a stunning atmosphere, with massive stakes and two fantastic races. A truly memorable occasion. Tonight had many more great races, on a hugely better race track. Thank you to both teams for a brilliant evening of entertainment. THIS is why we love speedway.3 points

That bloke is an incredible Speedway team manager. There is nobody like him, seems to lift teams & rider's above their level.3 points
-
He was right though. Take those two races Penhall won on the line out, and there was very little else in the way of racing3 points
-
He did what he wanted to do by ‘79 There were only a handful of top races at Wembley that night but that’s all people remember3 points

Might be a good time to clarify the format and some of the rules. Day 1 21 heats scoring 4, 3, 2, 0 under U 21 rider must ride in 1 heat Day 2 1st day scores are added to day 2 another 21 heats and the U 21 rider must take 1 ride. At the end of the 42nd heat the leading team go to the final(race 44). next best 2 teams go in race 43 to decide who gets to the final. The team who win the final win the title.(2nd and 3rd beat 1 and 4) Any starting offence warnings are not carried over from day 1 to day 2. U 21 riders are not allowed to replace riders excluded for a starting offence.3 points

For me this should be a resignation offence for Godfrey, he has clearly lied to his clubs loyal supporters there's no way this man should be in charge of British Speedway. I will not be attending Scunthorpe Speedway again while this man is in charge of the sport. He's mugged off his own clubs supporters, he's mugged off Leicester fans and he's put the British Champion in an untenable position.3 points

It’s unfortunate. That’s as much sympathy as you’re going to get.2 points

Some promoters and fans (including members of this forum) complained that no facility (which meant an NL rider effectively with a 3 pt average) unfairly penalised their teams so the 'non-guest guest' rule was slipped into the rulebook a couple of years ago (with I think little fanfare) On the matter of Adam Ellis' "illness" I think that unless someone can demonstrate with a degree of certainty that Rob Godfrey claimed he was ill then I think it is time to move on.2 points

Would have thought it was a no brainier selecting Dan.2 points

Not the case I was there when the CofC told the Ref about the change in rider line up. The change was made by the Scunny TM not the ref.2 points

Bit of a slap in face for fans of both Teams.Still that’s some Speedway Promoters for you.2 points

So Adam's father has confirmed he wasn't ill so I take back what I said about him, Godfrey has been outed as a liar I wonder what the truth is regarding aarnio, needs to be an enquiry and Godfrey should be fined and removed from the mc imo.2 points

If the track is slick. Aces win If it's like last week. Then panthers have a chance2 points

To be fair JTS I dont think there is too much 'anger' on here towards either Adam or the UK Promoters.. It's more resigned Mickey taking due to the fact that such things happen so regularly.. Riders clearly can't be in two places at once so the authorities should just explain why one is missing... And if any riders feels he has got misrepresented by that explanation then he should speak up with the real reason... That "let's make something up" culture has existed for far too long across the whole operating model, and unfortunately in todays 24/7 social media world, any clear evidence which clearly contradicts what is said is quickly put out to the world for all to see.. As you yourself have said several times.. The UK promoters cant even get a sponsor for their leagues after so many years of TV coverage.. No real surprise why that situation exists is there?2 points
-
Nothing baffling about it really, It's simple, it's because they called off meetings too early in the summer, wouldn't ride because something else was on the telly and couldn't find a club to ride because the opposition's captain was on the telly. Still, you'll get people telling you they did exactly the right thing! I'll be at BV watching some world class Speedway... all for £23 a pop2 points
-
Perhaps Adam should come out and say that somebody is telling lies about him being ill... otherwise he's just complicit in the deceit.2 points
-
So why tell lies to the very people who pays his wages that he was ill??2 points
