Don’t ask! But I’ll be at Ashfield tomorrow.4 points

As a support we will always be indebted to yourself and those who managed to keep us afloat those years, without which be no club let alone a successful one. So as a Glasgow/ Poole fan... Who do you want to win3 points
-
Their is a better way, just exclude any rider who moves prior to the start when the green light is on, no replacement. This would eradicate all the nonsense at the tapes in a few meetings. Very few riders get excluded for a second offence in a meeting having been officially warned once, so they clearly know they get no leeway for trying to cheat.3 points

It is getting tiresome and I.m a Workington fan (was we are no more).3 points

This is now broken record syndrome. It’s like that movie edge off tomorrow eat sleep repeat continually going on about a now sadly defunct club that won something 3 years ago is now very boring and yesterday’s news.3 points

Grobauer's travel costs wouldnt add up to much, he was hardly ever there.....2 points

Though when Zach not riding he spanners for Ben and vice versa, so am sure he'll be doing the long drive anyway!2 points

Bournemouth Echo confirming Jack Thomas at Glasgow and , as expected, Zach Cook at Poole.2 points

Just to clarify. The planning condition requiring the track to be removed and the land to be restored to its original condition, if the speedway ceased, was relative only to the time that we only had temporary planning approval (IE the first 4 years). Once a full planning consent was approved, this condition no longer applied.2 points

Who has youth on his side and therefore a more promising future. Of course you can live for today, but what about tomorrow.2 points

Thanks , all booked , see you all on Friday.2 points

We could sign Heeps and only use him at Armadale for no other reason than a blobby meltdown.2 points

Glasgow have been fined in the past for missing meetings. I think it was five or six grand in around 2013. I’m not aware of Poole being fined but that’s because I’m not aware of them being unable to fulfil all their fixtures. It’s nothing to do with bias, everything to do with breaking the rules.2 points

How's that chip on your shoulder? Stick some vinegar on it might make it less bitter2 points
-
Got to remember bspa will be watching if the fixtures are not completed they will issue a fine of £3000 well they did in 2018 but as it's Poole and Glasgow they probably won't get fined !!2 points
-
I think all you cause there is a bidding war for the riders towards upper end of said average limits. Do nothing to reduce costs IMO2 points
-
Only 42 points per meeting. Averages based on 4 rides per rider per meeting. For heat 15 a riders average is usually divided by 5 (5 races instead of 4). Scoring 8 points from 4 races is the same average as scoring 10 points from 5 races.2 points

Going back to the NDL and its rider developmentsuccess or failure - for me there needs to be a clear distinction of what success means. For example, there are riders who will always make it regardless (Gilks, Brennan, Edwards, Bewley, Lambert, Pallin), those that enter the NL on 3.00 and leave on 9 plus.. they would have made it regardless of the league structures or if there was only second halves after main meetings and amateur meetings available to them. For me success or failure of the NDL is whether those riders who perhaps have to work a bit harder (I dont know a different phrase for this and I am not suggesting that those who will make it regardless have not or do not work extremely hard for their success and indeed I am sure it always contributes to it), for example here Danny Ayres, Ben Morley, Alfie Bowtell, where participating in the National league really made a huge difference to them and was probably the only way the made it to higher leagues. Can we say in 2021 any middle order riders at the start of the league are now able to make the step up? This is where the NDL should really come in to its own for rider development in my view, for riders like Spooner, Verge, Coles to really give them the step up they need to Championship but also a "challenging" cushion in the NDL for confidence and experience. And the only other option is to have a properly MDL/NJL formated and enforced second teams to run, without fail, after every league meeting by every UK club.2 points

How about this? Keep the same options, but let the opposing team manager make the decision.1 point

I watched his crash on tv and commented about the angle of his leg as he landed. Nice lad with obvious potential once he gets his knee fixed. The plan is a mixture of rest and physio - good luck lad. I just hope he is not doing more damage continuing to ride1 point

Ndl should have guys like Lawson. Years gone by had guys like Tony Atkin, jon Armstrong, Wayne carter. Good yardstick if nothing else1 point

Great to hear that Stefan Neilsen will be at the stadium on Wednesday. He will be presented with the money from the recent collection PLUS a further donation from the Poole R.E.F. (Riders Equipment Fund!). With his average (4.79 minus British %) he's gotta be in line for a 2022 team place. ps. Zaine will be ok - he'll have the full Aussie contingent in the pits advising/assisting!1 point

The trouble is today was meant to be quite good in the afternoon BUT it poured down causing horrendous driving conditions. Don't know what impact it has had on the track but up until then I was optimistic, assuming the favourable forecasts were accurate. Just going to have to wait and see.1 point

Given it was a "5 year plan" what are the chances the "rising star" rule will be dropped after ONE season?1 point

I did say “around”! 2014, the year of the Burger King Not one of our better years but, thanks to the board members and the deep pockets of our sponsors (after mine were emptied) we survived1 point

We have Basso no worries, the cup is ours. Zaine Kennedy is not that good at his own track let alone at Poole! He may have got 5 and 4 points but he had 6/7 rides!1 point
-
Thanks Brian, never knew that, I did know it was in place at one time1 point

Cook got 5 from 7 rides, Thomas got 9 from 5 last appearances. Jack being a former tiger as well far better choice of guest IMO, and that's as tigers fan!!! Utter rubbish from Steve again given neilsen always been poor at ashfield and managed a solitary point failing to beat an opponent on his last visit!!1 point

Shame he didn't have it when guesting for us, I like Jack he is a fast starter, was gutted that he did so well for Birmingham1 point

Just to correct you there, I dont suggest that every team should have second teams. But it's an option that could be further evaluated.. My personal thoughts is that I know that it wouldn't work partly due to rider numbers but also, like always (and 2nd halve were supposed to happen this year too) second team racing isnt valued by many promoters sadly leaving those who can see its potential out on a limb with next to no support. I think @arnieg said earlier that every british rider in the top two leagues, except Scott Nicholls had gone through the third tier of the sport. I guess if what you say is correct that only 10% of NDL riders make a carrer out of the sport then our higher leagues need to consider the options that are opened for UK rider, vice international riders for our UK based teams.1 point

It appears Jack Thomas is in for Tuesday at Glasgow so could be him?1 point

Why would anyone team sign Hellström Bangs? He had a moment or two at the SoN. Berge had more moments, would start on a lower average & has visited the other tracks before!1 point

There is interest and talks are continuing . Until everything is in place and everything agreed there will then be full details released . Talks have been made with the landlords and the BSPL know the current position whilst the interested parties have to conclude arrangements over assets and equipment with the current owners. All this takes time .1 point

In 2018 both teams attempted to ride but ice came up through the track, referee called match off on safety grounds, but bspa still fined the club, nothing like kicking you when you are down, but it was only the last league match, that we had already got the cup for, plus 2 other trophies H18TORY1 point
-
‘Done fairly with no hidden agendas ‘…..that’s the BSPL buggered then. Only an independent body with no ties to any club can give speedway any credibility back as regards a rule book.1 point

T20 is great for the kids, it's exciting and quite cheap for a good entertainment package, I can't see how speedway can compete when other sports offer far more for the kids, I don't know what could be done to attract a younger generation, ask any kid a famous footballer he will reel off 20-30 names, ask him to name a famous speedway rider I bet 99% would not be able to name one.1 point

And a next level that doesn't have the majority of riders that ride as heat leaders in the top tier... The level currently from step three to step two is too big, as basically in reality it's not far off going from step three to step one in one move... Having one or two experienced old heads from the tier above in most teams brought the riders on and gave them an idea of what the next level looked like... Now you can go from learning your craft, gradually improve and move up, and be facing riders who just represented Team Great Britain in a test match v Poland...1 point

What's the difference ray c ? Same riders in both league's apart from a few . And it costs a lot more to ride in the so called premiership, so I understand Poole staying where they are, more teams in the championship.1 point
