Can't believe disrespect to a guy whose been a top performer in this league for a long long time before he's even turned a wheel in anger. Have your opinions but reverting to name-calling I find totally pathetic9 points

And its nobody's business apart from Adams. Birmingham fans should be thankful they have had someone come in and keep them running let alone have the British Champion in the team. You have a new promotion putting money in, a new track, a new airfence, the British Champion and an exciting prospect to watch and some people are moaning about which race jacket riders wore for photos! Unbelievable.5 points

Just come back on here and was rolling with laughter. The term wasn’t meant to seriously offend. I used the term as someone with long hair who likes bikes and rock music. There were loads of greebo about in the past and I have never heard the term used for unkempt people. Now I remember why I don’t post on here regularly anymore. Say a word slightly unPC and it is sure to offend some fart.4 points

Weather looks set fair for the first match at the newly named Ecco Arena. Not sure what to expect in terms of result with a few new faces for both teams, just hoping for a good safe meeting and a decent crowd.3 points

Poole Speedway will be live streaming for 2022 as early as Friday 25th March when the club's Press and Practice Day will be broadcast.Confirming the initiative, Poole promoter Dan Ford said, "this will be the first time we will be in a position to bring the events of our Press and Practice Day into the homes of supporters and we are offering this particular event as a free of charge view. This will be a forerunner to a live streaming service which we will be operating during the forthcoming season, with our first meeting, the Bjarne Pedersen Final Lap on Wednesday (30th) followed by the Knockout Cup home tie on April 6th against Plymouth. We will be making further announcements throughout the season."SIGN UP livestream.poole-speedway.com3 points

I remember him calling the very likeable BBC sports presenter Clare Balding a 'fat lesbian' on here a few years ago. Disrespectful and offensive. That's his manner unfortunately. And the modern meaning of a 'greebo' is someone who is unkempt and dirty looking. Certainly something which Richard Lawson is not. greebo / (ˈɡriːbəʊ) / noun plural greeboes an unkempt or dirty-looking young man3 points

I find your references to Richard Lawson as ‘Greebo’ to be completely out dated and unnecessary. Please change the record now.3 points

Those of us of a certain age would not only agree with the term not being offensive, but would have been quite flattered by it. Its a generational term and one from a pre PC age when we tended to be more laid back and less offended by everything in general. A time that benefitted from no social media or mobile phones and if you had a phone that didn't have a party line you were considered quite posh lol. As for Lawson many of us had hairstyles like his back in the day and it was the norm Time to move on.2 points

Nobody is blaming the clubs decision to sign those riders but more the rule setters - who are the clubs after all!2 points

And I am pointing out that his results more recently than what you are. Add to the fact that he won the British title beating arguably the best rider in the Premier League on his own patch. The Adam Ellis that rode 2019 was a much improved rider in 2021. Lets face it who else of that quality could have Birmingham have signed.2 points

All a bit too rich for my blood I am sad to say, £17.99 a month is unfortunately not affordable or justifiable for me personally. I'm actually probably part of the target market, strangely despite my involvement on Updates, I haven't been to a live speedway meeting for around 3 years now because of my disabilities and affordability (costs a bomb to take a carer to push you around and I was too exhausted and in pain to enjoy it anyway). Obviously I am not 'lost' to the sport in terms of wider involvement, just in attendance. Hope it is a huge success though and it will be great for those unable to get to meetings either due to distance, home commitments or disabilities.1 point

Not smarting at all. He won the meeting fair and square, he deserved it, and congratulations to him.1 point

Hope it doesn't come to one of young guys losing team place as need to sign 2 5.5/6 point riders to be competitive. If that happens due to a bspl decision how can it possibly be in best interest of British speedway1 point

Hodder must have made huge strides since i last saw him if he warrants two mentions by you and to be far more impressive than one of Aussies highest regarded youngsters i look forward to big things this season.1 point

A week to go! A week too late looking at the forecast for next week. Typically, a lovely spring week this week is set to turn much colder again for the first meeting so don’t put the bobble hats away just yet!1 point

Track was smooth. Did not see Pearson put in many laps, little 15yr Freddie Hodder was far more impresive , but its early days yet.1 point

Track looked very good , not over watered & no dust on a very sunny day. As for young James he looked very good off course the test comes when he is racing 3 other riders & if he can get out of the gate. I was quite impressed .1 point

Looking at the press day photos 6 of the 7 riders looked like they have been training hard over the winter and look like athletes which most riders are nowadays. there was one exception. Answers on a postcard1 point

I have to say that in all the years LR has been a team manager this is probably the best 1 to 7 he has ever assembled, It just needs Brum to have a reasonable season with regards being injury free and they should make the play offs, the comments about AE being a gater are probably correct but tell me how many top riders cant gate and when Adam does gate how many catch and pass him ?. Their is certainly improvement in this team points wise if they can add some consistency especially in the lower middle order.1 point

aren't ready for the Championship because the standard is too high for a 2nd tier competition - is the point. the fact that two have jacked it in also proves my point They would be ready for a lower standard Championship. You'd give a team spot to a 2.00 assessed rider if you thought they could average 3.00. You wouldn't if you think they'll average 1.00. The fact that they might only average 1.00 in the current Championship does not mean they are not capable riders it just means they're not up to the standard of the other riders in the league (most of whom are riding in two divisions so have much more income to invest in machinery) but could progress to a higher standard given opportunity. I don't think riding in the NDL offers these young riders the opportunity to progress as quickly as they would being in an environment with more experienced riders. It's how it's always worked organically in the past but in the past young kids mostly weren't thrown into a league made up of top division riders. There way a clear career path for all but the exceptional kids. 2nd division reserve, progress to heat leader if not No1 status in that division and then get an opportunity in the top division.1 point

Looking at Adam Ellis's record in heat `15 appearances for last season for Sheffield. Home 8 appearances 2 occasions winning the race 4 occasions finishing 2nd ( 3 were paid wins) 2 occasions finishing 4th Away 7 appearances 3 occasions winning races 2 occasions finishing 2nd 2 occasions finishing 4th Very nearly a 50% record for either win or paid win, I would say that was not too shabby.1 point

Just a reminder -- it's all starting this Friday night! At 7:30pm on Friday (25th) there's the official 2022 Launch Night for FTS Bandits, GHT Bullets and the Academy side -- in the Black & Gold. A donation will be appreciated on entry, all proceeds from the evening will go towards helping young Ryan Renton and his family source the best treatment possible in his fight against cancer. Your Berwick Speedway Promotion and all three teams will be in attendance and we will get to know a bit more about everyone’s ambitions for the upcoming -- and very exciting -- season ahead! Fans are encouraged to arrive early at the Black and Gold as we expect to reach venue capacity. The following evening will see our annual Press & Practice event for all of our teams. Once again everyone will be welcome to come along and stadium entry will be gained by donations helping towards Ryan Renton’s target. We’re getting just a bit excited now folks! #FTSBandits #PoweredBy #KeenwoodKarpets #GHTBullets #ForRyan #LetsDoThis1 point

Good start to the season with some good racing, heat 20 was exceptional, hats off to the 4 riders involved! Slightly disappointed Zagar didn't he was the best rider on the night, won the superb composed heat 20 despite being off gate 4 which had offered little in the previous few heats, just got into a battle with Woffinden that allowed MPT to catch and sneak past. MPT was always in the mix in all his heats so not a surprise. After a slow start Woffinden looked the quickest rider in his 3rd & 4th heats, then was no-where in his 5th off gate 4 - making Zagar's win in heat 20 all the more impressive. Fricke, Bewley, Lambert, Wright, Kurtz, Harris all rode reasonably well & had their moments. Iversen showed no signs of the catalogue of injuries of the past few years have affected him. Brennan was good value. Klindt was quick when he gated. Etheridge struggled in this company but played his part in the excellent heat 20 scrap. Ellis and to a lesser extent Musielak (first NSS visit?) were disappointing , they will need to ride better next week if the Aces have 7 riders! But nothing on Doyle, if he gated first he won, if he didn't he was plum last by a long way. Except for the SWC hosted at the NSS the first year it was open, that is by far the biggest crowd I have seen there, including playoffs, U21 SWC & SoN.1 point
