When are you going to say something positive about your club? People are working hard and putting their own money in to keeping our club going and all you do is shoot em down with your constant negativity. I don't wish to offend you, but if you're going to keep slating the Brummies, its best not to say anything at all...its just damaging! Your definition of 'supporter' seems totally different to most others...... ?6 points

Really pleased Lawson quickly shut up the negative posts quite a few Poole fans had with him before the season started.5 points

There are riders that have never been that popular at Poole in the past. Rory Schlein and Richard Lawson were never popular due to old club rivalries, but don the skull and crossbones and ride for the team with 100% effort and we will support them. Schlein won over the fans, and Lawson will do the same if he continues as he has started.4 points

Get Mr Bald Bloke there and tell him it's beer, the track would be raceable in under an hour...3 points

This is one of the reasons i am peed of with the decision to postpone over 24hrs before the match was due to take place. The forecast wasn't too bad yesterday, but as we all know come the day the forecast can be totally different. As you have stated the forecast has changed to 80/90% chance of rain showers.Who knows, the forecast could quite easily have been the other way round this morning and say 10/20% chance of rain.I'm all for calling early, but the day before don't sit right with me,unless of course they had days of rain beforehand that is then understandable. Incidentally i am 9 miles away as the crow flies and we have had a few very light showers, and 1 heavy-ish one but it is bone dry here.So i think they have got very lucky with the call off at the moment. That is the nature of showers i suppose. For the first time since i have been driving(36 years)i may choose to miss the re-staging as i can't keep throwing money away like i do for my love of speedway.I have missed meeting's before but not through choice.I have even come straight from hospital on 2 occasions to watch the Stars.I certainly won't be doing that anymore.3 points

Was that because you have dislike for Lawson ,because given his track record in the Championship most people would welcome his signing.?3 points

Now 80% and 90% chance of rain in Lynn before 7pm.... its starting to look like they might have got this spot on.3 points

i was not to keen on lawson coming to poole before the season started .he has hit the ground running .i would think he will soon be wearing the no 1 race jacket3 points

Ah yes but the chance of a wet night tonight are the same as being dry, that's the point. And then there will be fixture backlog again when weather prob even worse!!3 points

Darken the mood ? There are so many positives at the moment ie track, new promotion, new era etc , the only dark mood was the sky last night.3 points

Darcy Ward was an exception, he was doing things that others could only dream about 16 years old, the injury that finished him robbed speedway of the greatest talent ever seen on a bike, I am pretty sure Ward would have had at least 4 world titles by now, trust me no one will ever compare to Darcy Ward, he was one special talent3 points

I'm in Sheffield. Been windy, some sun, but also some heavy showers. Track unlikely to be fit by 7.30.2 points

I'm in Halifax which is not that far from Sheffield and it's been sunshine and showers all morning long. However, when it rains it's absolutely pouring down!2 points

I see what your saying Sid. I went for the short answer in my earlier post. i'll try and explain. My disposable income looks likely to be less this year, as things are going up all over the place. Our heating oil has doubled since last year for example.. Now £1000 to fill it at the moment, also fuel etc.. With there being 3 more meetings this season at the AFA than last, making it 15, i have agreed to attend 10, if things stay as they are now. I'm hoping to squeeze another one in at then end of the season if we get a play off place. We shall see on that one. So with most meetings spread out , i'll probably miss one of the 2 within 4 days of each other now, as they are so close together, where as i would normally do Ippo and Boro, i may miss one of them now. if i was going to all the meetings, i would agree with your comment. But as things stand i can't.2 points

Good call in my view. Attedance would have poor. I had this one marked down to attend but I would not have put a wheel on the M11 with the forecast as it is.2 points
-
Again, don't disagree and I'm making the assumption that it's a financial thing. Maybe Poole aren't so worried about crowd levels being hot by forecasts because you are running at a cheaper level? Maybe you are less affected anyway as people travel less far? You are right, fixtures will end up being crammed in, it happens every year in both leagues.2 points

Time taken using thought process to decide to compose this drivel = 5 seconds, Actual time taken to work out the figures = 3 hours Time taken by me to read this tripe = approx 30 seconds of my life - wasted. Thanks for your effort. Up the Brummies!!2 points

I don't disagree at all, I'm just looking at it from their point of view. It's already cold, windy and a bit showery, some would have already decided to stay away. Grachan is right that they risk putting keen people off but I can also see why they've done it when they need healthy crowds to survive.2 points
-
Nah, Hans will be back, not to his best because those days are long gone, he has had many worse crashes than the one at Belle Vue but it takes time to get your confidence back and the older you are the more time it takes. Ulrich maybe might take a while too. You have to be patient, it's early in the season.2 points

What is going on with these cancellations? Surely people are going to lose interest if meetings are "rained-off" like this. It seems a bit foolish to me.2 points
-
I've no doubt if the weather was lovely like a couple of weeks ago and there was plenty of fuel for everyone then there would be a very healthy crowd tonight, but people don't want to stand in cold, damp conditions and riders not fancying it on a wet night and watching Buster spend hours relaying the track for no reason. We've all been there before.2 points

When "promotions" start to postpone meetings on the "potential of rain" then fans will not travel to meetings when there is rain "in the air", just in case its postponed or only get 10 heats in for a result. In Ipswich Thursday night was speedway night, now its more of a case of "oh the weather looks iffy" i'll do something else as it will probably be off anyways......2 points

Okay, so take Poole example then. 80% chance of rain throughout the day. The rain being showers possible heavy. But only a few showers in the morning and one at 6.30pm and still raced with no problems. But according to someone else KL have 50% chance of rain and it's off! Just as much chance it will be dry. Start calling meetings off in England for 50% chance of rain, then no one would ever ride!2 points

Birmingham only just managed 10 heats. It was heavy rain during Heat 10 too. Phil Griffin praised the 2022 track surface, saying that last year, in similar conditions, they would not have got ten heats. Track looked (and rode) very smooth.2 points

Considering the rain, the rebuilt track held up very well tonight.2 points

Think everyone knows by now that the sunshines out of everyones ass in Poole , hence theres not alot of rain that falls in Dorset ,2 points

They are obviously petrified of dodgy weather putting people off resulting in a small crowd and consequently losing money, that's all it can be as it's only showers forecast. I won't go nowadays if there is rain about so I can kind of understand but more than 24 hours beforehand seems extremely cautious to me, especially in the school holidays.2 points

Hope it's on, fairplay to you for risking that big a journey early in the season If its on just hope nobody has their gating gloves on as it's a cracking racetrack1 point

BV probably slightly up on the Sheff match than last season and double last year's PC Memorial.1 point

Congratulations to the track staff that laid the new surface pre-season.... not many tracks would have made it to Heat 10 last night.... Bodes well for the new season!1 point

Birmingham to win easily, Poole fans to be nowhere near Perry Barr but comment on social media like they were sitting in the pits.1 point

Sorry but that does sound a bit lame to me. I'd be saying the same thing if my club did it. They do realise England is generally cold and wet in March, April, Oct. So really season May- Sept? But that never happens cos of fixture back log. So why didn't Poole rain off yesterday with 80% chance of heavy showers. Not light but heavy and they didn't even materialise!! It was really windy last night too but crowd wasn't too bad I thought. If you use that comparison it does look a bit ridiculous.1 point
-
So let's hope for a dry summer otherwise you will have a backlog of meetings to run at the end of the season which won't be called off early.1 point

Another reason maybe is diesel is a bit hard to come by around Lynn, so if that's the case around other parts of Norfolk as it is in Cambridgeshire that could deter a few. I was considering whether to go Speedway or saving the fuel for work if it's still scarce.1 point

Absolute piss take imo.Yes there are meant to be some showers about tomorrow, but there was meant to be plenty of rain here today in Wisbech and all we had was a couple of showers. As i work Thursday evenings i gave my shift away to another colleague. So i have now chucked £90 away because it may rain tomorrow.I could understand if the forecast was atrocious but it isn't according to the Met office and accu weather. The Bbc has more showers but they are often wrong. It's got me thinking going forward,do i ask people to cover my shifts on Thursdays or not now.I mean they have called this one off with over 24hrs to go because we may get some rain.Let's be honest we live in the UK,there's a bloody chance every day of some rain. Are they trying to piss fans off and drive them away from the sport.I love going to Lynn to watch my speedway, the team has been in my blood since the 70's.I would always try to get someone to cover my shift but i can't keep knocking back a wage just in case of a suspect cloud could be heading our way.Well i will be there on the 25th,but on the 21st who knows. It wouldn't have bothered me about 2 meetings in 4 days,in fact i would have been over the moon. Now though i have a decision to make, the long range forecast has to be pretty much wall to wall sunshine for me to risk asking someone to do my shift and losing £90.1 point

Getting silly now when meetings are called of because it MIGHT rain!!!1 point

Whilst this is what the majority of us purists want, the reverse is that the Glasgow promotion have significantly increased its attendance (certainly pre-pandemic) by having entertainment during the interval mostly aimed at kids. Having this means kids bug their parents to go and there are far more youngsters at ashfield regularly than I've seen at any other track. And while I have my issues with it and can extend the meeting beyond 2 hours often, the long term goal is to get kids interested and more people through the gates so you stomach it.1 point
