No! No! No!... I have read it on here many times that they do it "for our entertainment"....5 points

A good match last, some great racing. Lions getting a point was the right result I think. Nick Morris is a true racer, as for his 'chat' with the ref, I see no problem with it, a stern word from the ref should have sufficed as a slap on the wrist. How many remember Geoff Pusey's visits to the refs box, climbing over the fence, stomping through the crowd, certainly got the crowd going. We need riders like Morris, racers who entertain. Both sides raced hard last night to make a great meeting.4 points

Morris added to the entertainment last night. He’s a real racer and can understand why he was upset at the Heat 11 decision. As long as he wasn’t abusive I have no issue with his actions, a pantomime villain always gives a bit of interest.4 points

Only takes a couple to struggle and you've no chance away from home . But to be honest , three away wins will get you in the play offs ( as long as you win your home matches )., so there will be easier tasks than Leicester3 points

Then each club should think about that before allowing such disparate level of capability to be in place in the same league.. And also consider if it is a good idea to allow clubs to choose when to use a guest and when not to... (All the clubs 'amazingly' seem to find a guest for home matches dont they?) More self inflicted nonsense that can only dissaude attendance rather than encourage it, and so easily fixed if as a collective they wanted to do so... As, lets be honest, it isnt like it isnt obvious that certain teams wont be crowd pullers away from home, and that home teams will then pay out loads of points money when these teams visit.. Because the same thing has happened for donkeys years... With these teams often highlighted pre season by fans with even just the slightest knowledge of the sport..3 points

Sure something like that could only happen to you Steve, 'only you'?3 points

You can probably give Etheridge a pass if he's not 100% fit but Bickley has made zero progress. It's sad as he was a brilliant youngster but it just doesn't seem to be working at senior level.3 points

Some tremendous racing tonight ,certainly no lack of effort from the Bandits riders,we were just outridden on the night, very entertaining meeting. Not one re-run or a faller in the 15 heats. The one thing that was proven though is the present Berwick reserves are not the strongest in the league.3 points

After 2 wins the Stars welcome those pesky Witches from Foxhole on Monday In last Thursdays great win over the Panthers everyone chipped in, and it was an enjoyable meeting. I'm hoping for another great one come Monday. Richard didn't look as fast as he has been i'm hoping for more than 14 points from Richard, TJ, and Lewi in this one. We should see 22+ from those 3 at home hopefully, this time around.. Ones to watch for me will be Erik, Doyle and Batch to a lesser extent. Those 3 could score 30+. I'm going for a 46-44 Stars win if the above three score well. Unless we get agent Erik Thoughts?2 points

Was a cracking meeting. Thought Glasgow could get a point but lions pulled away. Basso is some rider . Thought heat 14 was amazing . Joe n Dan out witted basso and he moaned but was just fair racing.2 points

Been some excellent meetings at Berwick this season and that topped the lot so far Little to think what was to come in opening two heats but it just took off So many plusses but Harris in Heat 13 was simply Bomber Special.mention for Nathan Stoneman who was for my money top Cheetah2 points

I presume that view doesnt have a fence blocking the finish line, like some fences do at tracks...? With sometimes the wheels not visible depending on how near they are to the fence as they cross the line, meaning the refs give their "best guess" result based on the riders crossing the line, not their bikes.. Sometimes being directly opposite the finish line with nothing blocking the view can be far more accurate..2 points

From a bandits point of view a great win. I expected it to be a lot closer but not to be. Some great performances from Jy Theo and of course the Bomber. Heat 13 was unreal from him. If anyone says theirs no passing at Berwick get a look at this meeting. Gonna take some beating at home this year. Got to mention Nathan stoneman who gave his all tonight.2 points

Only possible way the referee can justify that decision is to say the race was stopped due to an unsatisfactory start and not due to anything that happened on the third bend.2 points

It’s not strict rules though it’s more of a “ get out” clause.IMO.Discrection has to be used in this case.I fear for them.2 points

Problem is, like with any business, customer confidence and a good reputation needs to be built up over weeks, months, years, its lost and gone over night. Birmingham`s management need to work on the first bit to stop the second part happening.2 points

And they will enjoy the NORA British Ladies Championship being staged on the Isle of Wight this summer which is being masterminded by the long time supporter of women’s racing Alan Critcher.2 points

I’d agree. Berwick were better than the score suggests. Craig didn’t gate well last night, but conditions were different to a week ago. Ulle still needs a few weeks to be 100% I think and he looked frustrated in a couple of heats last night. But he’ll get there, and he did get a paid max last week, put with 8 from 4 rides last night, so he’s not doing badly. You can just see there is a bit more to come . He pulled an important block on Chris Harris in heat 9 even though he finished last in the race. I think having Tom at 5 and Ulle at 3 is working nicely. Broc is a bit of a weak link at the moment but he got better as the meeting went on and was practicing afterwards, along with Ulle. Seemed to be getting a bit of help from Tom and Craig. Connor’s been phenomenal. 9+1 last week, 9+2 this week. Fabulous passing in heats 8 and 12. We knew he was better than his average but he’s killing it right now.2 points

It seemed like it had taken a week to get there what a trek, a great day though really friendly people. My last visit was in 1984 when the Diamonds had there year in the BL Eddie Ingels rode.I also went to Newcastle for a weekend what a time that was stayed in Whitley Bay brilliant remember the geordies taking the p… out of our accent.Calling us Southern softees and carrot crunchers , all in good jest though they were really friendly down to earth jovial people.2 points

TBH, I'd rather we did what we did, and use a rider from our own junior team. Only way riders will progress unless they are a super talent is to get track time against riders of a higher standard. Better to train our own riders than someone else's Maybe a lesson for the British Authorities as our leagues trained up plenty of Foreign talent instead of using British riders who ended up drifting away from the sport. Luckily there now seems to be a good crop of younger riders coming through who will kick on2 points

Reflecting on this now having absorbed all the tributes and comments, it's clear that speedway, in the modern age, has lost its greatest ever promoter. I can't recall such an outpouring of grief and admiration for someone involved in speedway who wasn't a rider. Nigel spent years promoting nothing but positivity in so many aspects of speedway that his contributions were quite extraordinary and surely without precedent. Crikey, he even ghost wrote Kelvin's recent book(s)! This really is a case of you don't know what you've got until its gone. A truly tragic loss.2 points

Welcome back haven't seen you post for a while, well the wait to Tapes up at seven seventeen was well worth it,even if it was freezing. One of the best matches I've seen for a while, some great races, with plenty Passing, Bandits very much up for it,as mentioned thought Nathan Stoneman rode very well.Going to be hard to beat at home, anyone know when the new averages are out and how it affects the team?1 point

Cycle speedway do it well... And they have to spin around and ref the whole race... Not seen one throw up yet...1 point

Yes - an opinion based on my own eyes (from a perfect position to see who crossed the line first). Saying it as I saw it, as I always do and try to be fair to both teams. Everyone around me actually laughed when the result was announced.1 point

What an excellent night's entertainment. Berwick riders never gave up and the Tigers didn't have any weak links. And as for young Connor Bailey simply brilliant.1 point

I said, previously, that Jake was missing a bit of grunt & speed from his bikes & Falcon said his season will start this weekend. Well, Rob said he had a new engine & the improvement was evident even protecting his partner Jordan when required. Strength in depth was a positive point even though the track must have been slightly different from last weeks second half of the meeting as we did not see the speed on the inside line from Lambert & Kinsley. Birmingham played their part with Shanes & Morris always on the heals of our riders. I expected more from Nielsen, though.1 point

Brum should advertise £75 for 15 races (pro rata the same), at the next meeting and then see how many turn up... That should tell them the impact a key fundamental decision they have to make would have...1 point

I seem to think through the mist of time, for all teams, that whatever night you ride on at home, it always seems easier to find a guest than when you are away... Unless of course you are in the running for the play offs or title...1 point

.....Agree 100% with your opening comment. Alternatively, however, and tongue-in-cheek here, maybe a team exploring all options and playing the long game until the League season starts - and then you for 'incompetent' you can read e.g. 'clever' or 'astute'.1 point

It seems not Ray - I have put it on gumtree also. It would suit other types of bike too. I would rather not take it to the tip. I may try Ebay... Steve1 point

We did that last year and hoped this year be different? But its still the same team and no number 1. Sometimes its nice to be frustrated at the team you support. Becoming the norm to see other teams celebrate with their fans here1 point

Yep pretty big tragedy at a coal mine this week quite a few speedway riders in past time from Rybnik team worked in that industry before speedway became professional sport and they still remember those times in the teams name Row in English means Rybnik Coal District1 point
