For me get rid of riders who cannot commit full time to UK.Form 1 league with the riders left including NDL riders,start at the bottom and build speedway in GB up again.Basically do what happened in 1968 when the formed the 2nd Division,the entertainment will be just as good ,reduced admission on the basis that you are not giving silly money to riders that are mainly riding here for pocket money to supplement their foreign wages.All the fans that want too watch the Superstars can get cheap flight to Poland for the money they need to fork out nowadays to attend British Speedway( at least they will see a full match for their admission fee).The sport cannot survive the way it’s being run down just now.

That ladies and gents is how to race at the Colosseum! Fair play to Redcar who had their gating boots on last night and taught the patched up Gladiators a lesson on their own track. Unfortunately, things are unravelling a bit for Garry’s merry men which is a real shame given earlier in the season, I’m not sure too many people would’ve wanted us over two legs when we had six fit riders! Poole will be a tough ask. Lawson is dynamite around our track and the guest situation is going to be far from ideal looking at the current averages. Must say, last night due to working commitments, it was the first time I’d watched a meeting on BSN and I thoroughly enjoyed the coverage. It was also a very good meeting which I hope everyone enjoyed. Some very tough, hard racing at times and there was some great skill shown on the bikes. There was also some passing which is great to see. I get the sense the more people ride at Plymouth, the easier it becomes for them once they overcome the mental block of how small the place is. Best of luck to Redcar in the playoffs

After the dismal last match at Peterborough where we had to stand around for over an hour to watch tractors going round then crap racing to follow and then the shambles last night am I the only one who's lost the plot with British speedway...it's a joke. We have a ridiculous 6 team league thats seen the top 4 decided by July with essentially nothing to ride for until the play offs, I've seen teams tracking nearly full teams of guests, I've seen rules made up as they go along and then that ridiculous call made at the British Final...I could go on but the future is not looking good with Peterborough potentially dropping out next year and the same set of fools at the BSPA continuing to make a mockery of what has the potential to be a great sport (like in Poland)... Dont you think a huge shake up is required!?...I do because I am rapidly losing interest..it's not just a Peterborough thing either as I can't get excited for any of the TV matches anymore..they have nothing riding on them and it's just not interesting anymore. Oh and the guest situation needs looking at also with Pickering (as an example) pretty much riding for 2 teams now which is laughable and only in the UK do we have this stupid situation.

Well that was a great, if expected long night. Great crowd for Middlo who fully deserved a night to remember. Rickardson, Loram, Havelock, Doyle, Chris Holder were the world Champs at Wimborne Road. But Bomber Harris was the star of the show with an unbeaten 18 points. He showed last week in his last two rides what he can do when his bike is dialled in. Sublime stuff. Hope Hans Andersen recovers quickly from a very nasty tumble. South Today ran their sports section from the stadium it’s interviews with Middlo and Danny Ford. Big firework display to end the evening. Well done to every rider who gave their time.

Tom Brennan rides tonight in the British U21 final

This is the problem I have with their statement. It implies the track is somehow at fault. The tyres are the problem, it just so happens that Peterborough highlights the problem more than elsewhere. How long before they need 2 tyres at Scunny? They were using 2 last year.

Spot on... And remember, even in the "halcyon days" when the tracks were often rammed with spectators, most tracks only had two or three fully professional riders... And that was only in the top league... One or two "superstars" and another "potential superstar/wunderkind" was what only the very top clubs mainly had... The rest of the riders making up the teams had "day jobs" and were very pleased to earn quite a bit more than a weeks pay from that job in just one night riding Speedway... Ride 20 times a month and you could have half a years salary every 30 days or so.. Do that from March to October and then work through the winter, or go on tour to Austalia if you were a full time pro, and a very, very good living could be had... Now we have "professionals" barely out of school, who cannot even hold down a place in the Championship, needing paying to fund their dreams... What a ridiculous system to have designed...

Also a big nod towards Tom Brennan. Obviously a very promising, talented young rider. I heard him interviewed after gueating for Berwick last year. Came across as a very level headed young man. Thanked the club for the opportunity etc. To keep progressing as he has, after all the things he has been through over the past couple of years, speaks volumes for his character. Now to crash on Monday, be told by the doctors to rest for a couple of weeks, then come back two night later. Says all you need to know about the toughness of a speedway rider. A different breed.

As they just said on commentary, despite a few of the original line up withdrawing, we have still seen some good racing from the youngsters which shows that its not just on eor two decent riders coming through either. Kids well down the points table still going out and really giving it their best shot in each heat too - good attitude.

Now it's the weather's fault, never had any problems at the 4TT, which was in the middle of the day, just admit that the cheap tyres are rubbish, riders now have so much equipment forced on them, all of which is a very nice little earner for someone. As the old saying goes, buy cheap, buy twice, or in this case buy cheap, buy 14 times.

That's a bit harsh, the medical cover at Birmingham was sorted months ago when the owners started paying for 2 ambulances to be present at each meeting.

The Regulations state clearly that if the British Final is abandoned and a restating is planned, then no result is declared. The BSPA had to nominate a Wild Card for the British GP. Their policy is to nominate the British Champion, who is Adam Ellis.

Promoters only paying riders for 10 races - spectators paying for 15 races. MUGGED off again.

If you reduce the size of the teams to fit the supposed number of riders, then you reduce opportunities which in turn means more potential riders simply won't bother with the sport. It simply becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and the rider pool will just continue to shrink. 6-rider teams are just about viable for a league match with 14-15 heats. 5-rider teams would require riders to not only have too many programmed rides, but too closely spaced together as well. Almost certain that some riders would also have to have two programmed rides on the trot, which does nothing for timekeeping. Teams have been 7 riders for much of the sport's history (although there have been 8 and 6-rider teams at times) because it's an optimal number for various reasons, including the possibility to run rider replacement.

Plymouth will be alright in the play offs, I am sure Kennet will be back.

Personally, I think it’s a win-win for both clubs that it’s Poole v Plymouth in the playoffs. Both legs are guaranteed big crowds. Easy marketing opportunity

The Poole v Plymouth fixture is now in the official BSPL Fixture list for Sept 7th.

And it is attitude like that why British speedway is in a mess 'I'm all right, so I don't care..'

What was ridiculous was why run it so close to Cardiff GP ? If it had been run early July and weather was bad plenty of time to restage it before Cardiff

Just because it's been 7 man teams for as long as I can remember doesn't mean it always has to be that way. You alter the model to suit the circumstances, if there aren't enough riders to run a credible league you go to 6 or even 5 man teams... it ain't rocket science

If the sport is going to survive in the country other than at a fully amateur level at a hand full of tracks then something dramatic has got to happen. The equipment has got to change the rule book& the regulations have got to be torn up & started again. The tracks have got to be improved to help produce better racing. Costs reduced for all those involved. In short a route & branch rebuild from the bottom up. There will be resistance & those who say that it can't be done, the short answer is that its vital that it is done. There are several tracks with question marks over them already. however the expensive venues to run like Belle Vue, Birmingham, Wolverhampton,Glasgow & Ipswich possibly King's Lynn could they really keep running speedway on an ad-hoc basis while charging minimum admission to watch amateur racing? It's time to smell the espresso regular coffee is no longer strong enough!

You could supply 100 tyres to each team at the beginning of the match, it wouldn't make any difference if the tyres aren't lasting a race... unless the sport introduces pit stops!

With how crap he's been all season, Plymouth will probably hope they have a meeting.

And a supplementary to the supplementary now that they've acknowledged the failing: all customers ripped off on Monday will get a 30% reduction on admission for any of Panthers remaining matches including the restaging.

I choose to forget about about all the politics, embrace it for what it is, support the team I love, watch the sport I love, and above all, think that this could be our year to win again. If not there’s always next year. I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be on a Monday night. Who knows, one day all the top riders may return, maybe or maybe not, but we could be watching the future world champion without even realising.

It is ran as a hobby by promoters... Who build ambigous rules as all can then benefit from them whenever they may need them.. The main purpose of UK Speedway is to provide riders with rides so they can justify their outlay on kit, and hopefully, earn enough to work six months of the year and not have to work the other six... The secondary purpose is to give promoters a sense of achievement when their teams win competitions of minimal kudos, recognition and financial value. With the lack of recognition all directly down to the ludicrous operating model that they personally design and follow.. However, it is still a very good night out on certain tracks, with the right personnel on view... Just enjoy the racing and dont take it seriously in any way shape or form from a "team sport" perspective..

The Matt and Helen Ford reveal was brilliant. Also some really positive comments from the likes of Doyle, Holder, Harris and Kurtz about the Poole track surface being the best and smoothest its ever been.

Well done to Leon Flint fully deserved winner. Despite what some say we've got some great kids coming through (even Drew Kemp!) I just hope our shambolic league structure doesn't throttle their progress!

Young lions speedway have just confirmed an update and Kyle Bickley is missing from the line-up. Jordan Jenkins and Tom Brennan are still included.

Garry May is at Poole every week. He knows the situation but has to save a bit of face.

I've heard that Kings Lynn is being looked at for hosting the restaging of the British Final. Anybody else heard the same or know why it would be moved from BV?

But he hasnt been protected in the top 5 and been there now for a couple of months.. Therefore, only fair he gets treated the same as anyone else... As long as the rules are clear, which incredibly for Speedway in the UK they appear to be, and all tracks get the same treatment, then that is what should count...
