When they showed the league table they had a column for draws !!!! luckily with this wonderful superheat that ain’t possible anymore.5 points

God they are wetting themselves over this superheat.Imo it doesn't do anything more for the sport at all.5 points

Why is it taking so long to sort out the Barker situation. Not as clear cut as seems. They are denying him the chance to make some money and help out Plymouth injury situation.5 points
-
Everything else is blamed on Poole. Barkers self inflicted ban has to be Poole’s fault as well. Goes without saying.4 points

How about a grading system. get the refs thinking a bit and cause some controversy at the same time. Do we need to automatically exclude a rider? In a 50/50 accident have all 4 back. If a rider is deemed the cause of the stoppage then re-run but with a handicap (or a "Yellowcard"). If the rider is seen as dirty rider then exclude them from the race (Red card). Imagine the boos from the crowd when that happened. Top entertainment. Oh, we can't have that can we. And put the ref's phone back by the start line. Nice for a bit of old-skool aggro.4 points

was in Slangerup last weekend and their track was far far worse with torrential rain still coming down .. they got the meeting on same afternoon3 points

Can’t speak for all of them but some are even before tonight, I did 5 rides with an anlas at 7psi on the Isle of Wight Thursday night with no issues and it was very slick but was doing around 3000 revs less as I was on an upright GM, I’m sure there is a lesson in there somewhere3 points

Don't think that matters believe he's also failed the B test. The hearing is just to decide on the punishment3 points

... pairs of underpants in case they suffer any more spectacular bursts like Basso's last week.3 points

Being perfectly honest after 20 years I am thinking of giving it a miss next year, this years GP was utter crap racing wise, and ticket and hotel prices are just ridiculous.3 points

You said the same thing about a 1000 times . there are loads of points why they have them . Do you think its would be more appealing if a team went miles clear and the season was over by June ,,, would be no point in people going .. Plays offs have nothing to do with why Uk speedway is rubbish as nearly every sport used them including Speedway in Poland and Sweden , Sadly is just said by old people stuck in a time warp3 points

Bit of a joke, top heavy teams benefit massively from this. It should be the number 1 and 1 reserve. That would be a fairer super heat.2 points

And that's why I have never liked Batch,,,, can get beaten by anyone,, and had no fight to mix it,,, so shut off2 points

Steve cmon Plymouth can’t do anything about the weather it’s been awful down here give us a break and just calm down a bit please would you rather your fans got here because you think they should have waited until tomorrow money is tight for a lot of people and I’m sure a lot of pirate fans are happy it’s off so they don’t have a wasted journey wasting money on fuel etc to get here and it’s off I think a lot of your posts are very sensible but please show a bit of common sense on this one thank you.2 points
-
I no there’s banter between both sets of fans but honestly the weather here has been awful the last 48 hours and the track is under water maybe if it was dry all day tomorrow you could get a meeting on but it’s forecast to have a bomblast of rain between 1 and 4 so it would be bikes going round but not racing and surely the travelling pirates fans would not want to see that.2 points

I fully expect the Poole leg to be postponed as well.2 points

Even after all these years the Shovlar wind-ups about how strong the opposition are never fail In who's world is Sedgmen and Starke for MPT and Andersen good - nevermind a strong line-up?2 points

We have a ridiculous 6 team league thats seen the top 4 decided by July with essentially nothing to ride for until the play offs.2 points

If that is the lineup, it’s a strong one.2 points

You would think that with the Fire brigade turning up when the hay was burning they could turn up again and pump the excess water off?1 point

Today the weather is very wet in Devon I can't see Tuesday being any different. I expect an early call off with plenty of photographic back-up.1 point

Indeed, The issue is more the lack of teams as the play off teams are known miles in advance, and the lack of any relegation threat.. Poland runs play offs with 6 out of 8 teams qualifying, however with relegation as part of their model it does mean each meeting still plays a part in the overall package on offer.. Even if it is obvious who may go down like this year.. There is no doubt that the play offs get good crowds because there is "something riding on them", the challenge therefore is to get all the other meetings that lead up to them have that stand point too..1 point

It is... But, hard to quantify how much of a bonus, as very often some teams will clearly be through to the play offs months in advance, which then can reduce attendance numbers in the run up to them, as fans decide to give "dead rubbers" a miss.. 3 or 4 matches like that with a couple of hundred off the gate each time, and the extra come play off time only balances the books with a little left over...1 point

It’s fair to say the timing of the Middlo love fest didn’t help much either.1 point

That’s all it is though. Don’t think any Champions or other teams in the play-offs in recent years can say their attendances increased as a result - each following year they start from scratch …1 point

The Brummies could sign the top 3 in the world but it's not going to make any difference to the average Joe in the street. There needs to be a monstrous change in how speedway is put out into the public eye to make it sustainable otherwise deep pockets and passion just aren't going to be enough. And this goes to every club, not just Birmingham.1 point

Clubs wanting to delay the inevitable is definitely to be frowned upon, BUT Play-Offs take precedence.!!1 point

It's only logical really if as people have suggested Glasgow move up (their set up deserves highest level but they'd lose local derbies and I'm not sure the highest level is as interesting or competitive as CL) and if Edinburgh either can't get new Stadium sorted in time or more likely can't use Armadale for at least part of the season until it is ready. Then presumably Brennan as an asset would ride for Glasgow in top league and Pickering would need a Club in the CL too. Both then would have most weekends free for Poland or European International opportunities. I have to say whilst applauding everything Nigel and his new team have done that the losses he has admitted too very openly are just not sustainable in any sensible assessment. Ball park 150-200 k for 2021 has been quoted. Its possible costs may be cut more but I doubt either Brennan or Pickering would take a pay cut to ride for Brummies and may cost more than we have. I just can't see crowds rising substantially so the only option, which Nigel has mentioned would be to either bring in new Directors (he said two) or new Sponsorship (presumably by a new Promoter or Specialist - possibly Lee Kilby/ who is very popular at PB) Theres a lot of if's and but's there, IF Glasgow go up, if Edinburgh don't run and equally IF Brummies do run. I will enjoy some good riders on Wednesday and baiting the old enemy from dingle land and fingers crossed we will have Speedway at PB in 2023. Whatever happens Mr Tolley a massive THANK YOU, I suspect you've lost a small fortune and far more than envisaged and no one would blame you if you pulled stumps but as always no one sees the lots of things Owners and Promoters do right and just moan about dust and bumps and the occasional glitch. THANKS to ALL connected with Brummies in 2022. I haven't been to as many matches as i'd like, initially some by choice and latterly due to some unexpected family issues but its that time of year when you realise best to support while its there so I look forwards to purchasing a 2023 season ticket for the first time in many years and thank you for your efforts.1 point

Not really comparable, Poland have proper teams their fans can identify with... we don't know who's going to turn up from one week to the next!1 point
