Biggest mistake by the promoters overturning the 2 home 2 away LEAGUE meetings for 2023. They should have asked the fans what they think!4 points

Scorpions to have race suits for 2023... for your chance to own one, message Gail Godfrey3 points

Brilliant to see the Comets back (always one of my favourite places to visit) and plan is for a couple of trips up next season (my local RL club Siddal have away matches at Kells (Whitehaven) and Wath Brow Hornets (Cleator Moor) so with a bit of luck I'll be able to do both on the same day). Had a bit of a look at the track a few weeks ago and it looks first class.3 points

Kerr is still at Sheffield apparently. Sedgmen & Mountain out for Bellego & Gilkes are the only changes apparently.2 points

'Fraid not...... Rowe is 5.08, James W is 5.51 and JJ 4.72. Per the official BSPL list. You got a drawing board to go back to?2 points

Not their fans though unfortunately I actually have a soft spot for poole, the 3 times I've been the racing and atmosphere was brilliant and the town is nice too.2 points
-
Which makes it nothing more than a pre season challenge unfortunately. Rew, Dan T and Ablitt completing Poole then presumably.2 points

ITK's are saying Gilkes so I've just gone with the flow so to speak.2 points

Sad to see the demise of my favourite magazines. I have read all of them from back to front. I do get other periodicals that I read the parts that interest me. The thing about Backtrack and Classic Speedway was that I read every single word. I will miss them very much - but - I do have every single copy of both to look back on, and, that at least is a great compensation. Thanks to Tony, Susie et al for all their hard work, they can be very proud of how their Magazines have enterained us over the years. In a very real sense I can say - - -- 'THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES'.2 points

If Kerr can keep the form he showed after signing this year that septet will take some stopping.1 point

From what I understand he's staying 250 next year with the intention of transition as the year goes on . late birthdays always make it a difficult decision for parents as whether to move up and get an average or wait till the following year. If he commits to international 250cc as well could be September before he is available.1 point

Sometimes less is more, so around 14 meetings with a cup run and a possibility of play offs, may fit the bill especially in the financial climate as it is !!! A lot of people would love to go to speedway every week but IMO a meeting every 2 weeks could work, less meetings but maybe more people attending, then have some open meetings, with star names (if allowed to ride ) am sure a certain maryport resident would love to have a competitive blast around the Northside areana , and it's not THJ1 point

Disappointed to see quite a few comments along the lines of "if Ipswich have Hume at reserve alongside a RS, they'll get the wooden spoon" 1) surely with a bigger reduction 4.09 down to 3.07, Hume would be a good signing? 2) shame about the lack of "backing the Brits" 3) surely Hume / Brennan / Mountain moving up is what's best for British Speedway? Riders can't stay "rising stars" forever, so I'm hopeful all 3 will get team spots!1 point

The big difference with Matt's Poole team options is that they usually win trophies at whatever level they choose to run. References to hair dressing really sums up looking backwards rather than onwards and upwards.1 point
-
They did ask the fans what they thought of the points system of which over 70% decided to go back to 2 point wins, no away bonus points & aggregate point for the technical tracks to benefit from.1 point

I have,,, I'm not saying ipswich will finish last,,, but they won't be winning anything either,,,, although Doyle could win the pairs again1 point

Because being an asset means absolutely feck all nowadays. The rider goes where they want. Why the rider would want to leave you say? Now that doesn't take a Mensa candidate to work out1 point

I think alot might depend on the other clubs running 2 teams wanting it. Leicester and Belle Vue for example would also have 12 PL home meetings, plus 2/3 KO Cup potentially. That would leave them with a mighty 30+ Home meetings including the NL ones (2 x Home). Oxford, Berwick, Edinburgh, Plymouth would also have similar issues, as the creation of this new Group comp. + KO Cup includes extra meetings. So they could also be hitting 30+ Home meetings with NL x2 at Home. This would be without any double headers taking places of course, not too sure how common they are now? On the other hand for us, Kent and Mildenhall, the summer would be very light on meetings if there are only 7/8 Home league meetings. For the Comets, this might mean filing the season up with Challenge meetings or others. For the new venture to be very successful, I think we would need regular weekly meetings (to an extent). Going 5 or 6 weeks without a Home meeting for example, which i've seen at some clubs this year, wouldn't be great.1 point

Surely until everything is finalised nothing will be said? And I expect it all takes longer than people think.1 point

They couldn't fit all last seasons fixtures in, pointless trying to double it really1 point

Lawson will be riding for Leicester and they will also use R/R for Harris.......... who will be guesting for Poole.1 point

I've been told that at the AGM its been vetoed that rising star riders get a 25% deduction that was rumoured If they are kept within the club once not being eligible, as only really Belle Vue would benefit as Brennan is a class above, so the other clubs out-voted the Aces to stop them seeking an advantage so the Belle Vue side I have seen on here may need rethinking as Brennan should come in at 5.711 point

King's Lynn's loss Leicester's gain. An excellent side being built there.1 point

The trouble now is : Only 8 meaningful fixtures ! the scrapping of 2 home/away is going to have a significant impact on attendances, unless it's a KOC Final meeting. Only a handful of fans turn up for mickey mouse competitions!1 point

Sad news indeed. Dick was the sole survivor of the Bristol team that I saw at the first meeting I attended on August 19 1949 when he scored 6 points from 4 rides at reserve when Bristol rode against New Cross in front of a 22000 crowd at Knowle Stadium in the second leg of the National Trophy , I still have the programme. Dick was one of the finest riders ever to represent Bristol and was loyal right up to the closure in mid 1955. Only then did he move to another club Southampton. I imagine that during his spell at Bristol he would have drawn interest from the bigger clubs as he top-scored all over the country. He also scored 16 points for England in the Test Match at Harringay in 1952 in a very late call due to injuries.1 point

Track has consistently produced the best Speedway I have seen anywhere this year... and riders from better teams than Birmingham will be visiting, so it's not a problem1 point
