  1. Solid fences and sandbags should have no place in speedway in 2022...

  2. Lowering the points limit has never worked before don’t understand why they persist with this nonsense. All it means is mediocrity is being rewarded. And to compound matters they increase admission for a weaker product.

  3. Ignore him he's the resident forum clown, everyone else thinks it's a decent deal and the best thing to happen to live speedway for many a yr

  4. If you look at inflation £20 in 2022 is about the same as £10 was in 2000. I always like to pay as little as possible for anything that I can, but realistically it's still a £10 sport from 20 years ago, but inflation has meant it's now £20. I'm not defending promotions and money is tight but unless all speedway becomes NL level or lower it can't go below £20 really.

  6. Unfortunately this news is correct but fortunately he has full feelings in his arms and legs

  7. He should end up with some home track advantage because he will have unrestricted access to Northside for as much practice as he wants which should sort the F situation out and with a mechanic like Steve Lawson supporting the home riders hopefully he can jump on those EF gremlins in the pits and that will be another problem put to bed... 8. Great! Nothing massively exciting about the Poole team in 2023. Will do fine but nothing that makes you think wow! I will never forget 2017 when Kyle decided to ride against us for Swindon in PO semi final. Glasgow are the stand our team, a very exciting team for the fans to watch on the terraces. They will be seeing a lot of over taking and riders on the boards, great entertainment for the supporters.

  9. Ryan Douglas and Zaine Kennedy first and second respectively in today's North Brisbane Solo Masters Final promoted by Darcy Ward Promotions. Nick Morris had a 15 point max in the heats but finished 4th in the final behind Jacob Hook in 3rd.

  10. 20 quid will have the "£10 Sport" crowd up in arms.

  11. Well they would do lol. Lawson is more than a gating tart, that some seem to think.

  12. Only Morris can answer that one.

  13. Paint it how you like but the fact is hitting an air fence offers way more protection than a wooden fence, if you don’t think so then physics isn’t your strong point.

  14. Looks like all behind the rebirth of the comets mean business 1st what looks to be a great track now looking like a great team to go with it UTC

  15. That's correct. If my memory serves me right he rode the next day as a guest and i think he top scored. Rule No.1. Don't try and pull the wool over Busters eyes.

  16. If Newman is at reserve he will do very well against many of the other reserves so far signed. The chances are he would move up and swap with Jack Thomas who could be one of our second strings. He won’t swap with Zach Cook who has shown his ability and is likely to improve considerably further in 2023.

  17. Sickens me that waste of space right turner is gp director. One of the filthiest moves I've ever witnessed. Was a miracle he got out the stadium that day

  18. I am pretty sure his gating improved towards the end of the season as he had Tony Starke helping him in the pits with his clutch and bike set up with lee coming back after having time out and with extra weight he was carrying he had to change the type of clutch plates and tyre pressures he used ,he has also lost a great deal of weight and hopes to lose more over the winter and think people will see a slimmer Lee Complin come the start of the season think the racing at glasgow will be pretty exciting with the team or racers Glasgow will have

  19. Brilliant, thanks for that and all the best next year. Just to get a reply from speedway people shows the difference with BSN. Thoroughly enjoyed last season and will be signing up to both the championship and premiership

  22. £60-£80 on Beer! I suppose it's the best way to watch Speedway at Lynn

  23. I'm sure we could afford one,,, but just won't get one,, it's just not worth the outlay

  24. Lawson has been a fantastic rider in the championship for many years now. Don't get all this talk about number ones, an out and out number one is a rider who leads from the front and wins the big heats and Lawson is one of those.

  25. I was surprised that no one had posted the signing on the forum. Only reason I found out was someone claimed Edinburgh holding NDL to ransom , so I looked on Monarchs website to see if they had issued a statement about participation in the NDL. From the alleged team which is 0.45 under the points limit you could have easily upgraded either Paco or Lasse. Connor Bailey or Kyle Newman instead of Lasse . Or Kemp, A.Morris, Rowe or Thomas instead of Paco. Obviously dependent on who makes the Poole lineup. Don't understand the logic of signing non-elite riders based outside the UK with the additional costs when you could employ British riders.

  26. Serious question, have you ever personally asked David McAllan if he thought Morris intentionally fenced him?

  27. How anyone can defend someone who ended a career and is using a bag to this day is not worth debating with.

  30. Some teams were complete but had riders let them down late on. Redcar have already confirmed that as has the rider involved who went elsewhere. It's quite likely that Poole have gazumped a couple if they go Plan A to Z especially if British. BTW I was the first to suggest Jack Thomas to Poole and believe that is Nailed on and has been for weeks

  31. I don't believe that, I suspect all teams are complete just not announced yet.

  32. I have no idea how the Dream Team idea would work, we only have 12.97 for 3 riders, Zach, Rew ans Zische doesn't fit, surely to get Zach at reserve would need a rider on a 3 point average or less so that would probably mean a place for Ablitt.

  33. And showing he knows no more than anybody else in the forum

  34. A few have reservations, but he would be a good signing in my opinion.

  35. Yes, hurry up Plymouth. Name your team! So if we had Drew prob have Nathan at 7 to fit.

  36. Safety standards in Aussie are crazy low, air fence been mandatory over here for how many years now? 15 or more at least hopefully it’s not as serious as first feared and he’s swiftly on the mend

  37. Does it really? If you want to go you WILL go, whether it's £18 or £20. Looking at the 2007 season, there was an average attendance of 2,500 - 3,000, paying £14.00 admission (full fare). There were 30 fixtures that season, so the seasons spend could have been up to £420 in admission alone. The 2023 season promises 11 fixtures for certain, at £20 per meeting = £220 for the years activities. Possibly a bit more IF the Brummies make it into the play-off's, semi-finals of the KOC etc. (No guarantees of that judging by the team managers trophy cabinet) So a seasons worth of speedway now promises to be £200 more affordable than it was 15 years ago. And predicted attendances are anyone's guess, but hopefully higher than the 400 - 450 average last year. So, the bigger question is...who wants to go any more, at any price?

  38. If Ben carries on were he left off last season, he could be the 3rd heat leader, and Batchelor a 2nd string

  42. Thanks Steve much appreciated

  43. Thanks. TBH i hadn't worked it out. But at £79. If i stayed at home for the 2 Lynn home league meetings it would save me £44 entry, £20 lift, £60 -£80 beer. So at least £124, minus £20 for beer at home.. So £104 just for those 2 meetings. And would be happy to miss more home meetings for that kind of saving to watch others live. Would be a great Xmas present in these hard times.

  45. Again what you want? Party hat and a balloon? Blue Peter badge? You won't be alone on this forum. Difference is rest don't act like you and I have bit of respect for. You're ego is so big you just have to be the person in the know or you'll have to cry yourself to sleep. Pretty sad existence in my book

  50. Done my bit, though we didn't get off to a good start! The presenter of the programme, Steve Scruton, rang me on Wednesday to ask me if I could take part in the programme. He said the only track he knew about was Rayleigh and asked me if I ever went there. I told him that I only went there once or twice. So, he started off the interview with me this morning by saying he understood I was a regular at Rayleigh and must have lots of memories of the place that I could talk about. Doh!!!
