Sheffield have been saved by the weather there, had a feeling it could of been a big Panthers win4 points

Yes it's early days and nowt is won in April/May however this Birmingham team as it stands will not win anything, Yes they have a good No1 but his high average was built on being very very good around his former home Track at Leicester, take away that home track average and it is/was obvious to most people his average would drop, but that high average limits the remaining team building possibilities, that is the start of where the team building has imo gone wrong, yes it was also thought that this would be a strong team at home and that they could get the odd away point. I will say again, I have a lot of time for Laurence Rogers and he spends many hours doing good things within Speedway, but a good team manager he is NOT, whoever makes the decisions at Birmingham Speedway should be on the phone to Alun Rossiter and do whatever it takes to get him in as Team Manager at Birmingham, because take it from me Birmingham people will not spend their hard earned money on watching this team as it presently stands. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but something needs to be done otherwise I can see the West Midlands being without Speedway in the not to distant future.4 points

You imagine or yoy know? Is it official or not? I'd imagine that someone will land on the moon again but don't know that it will be May 1st or 4th....3 points

Greg Blair does come in for Stoneman who faces a few weeks out. Not so sure what all the fuss is about, its a comfortable home win.2 points

We'll wait to see. If it is the BBC forecast you are looking at I find their predictions increasingly inaccurate. The Met Office is a much better gauge, dry and sunny for Monday2 points

Very healthy crowd for the previous 2 meetings and plenty of OAPs amongst it so they were not put off by the new fangled internet and no cash.Sometimes I think people like to make out that the old are incapable of any new tech forgetting that most have been using it for years my opinion2 points

Riss hasn't got concussion. He has a low white blood cell count which they think has been caused by an infection.2 points

A good sized crowd can look small there as it has a high capacity and the back straight stand holds quite a few. Probably still around 2-2.5k there.2 points

I wish everyone involved all the luck in the world and a very big well done, and good luck to Workington in the coming season, whilst its obviously a work in progress "Rome was'nt built in a day" the main part is already done..2 points

Leicester running with their own contracted seven riders? A ridiculous situation... There should be rules about this... The crowds these days expect to see loads of lads from neither of the clubs appearing that night... Won't end well all this, you mark my words.2 points

Just seen this on the Workington thread in the National League section, and I thought it was worthy of a greater audience as not everyone looks in the National League section. This should be used as a blueprint for all future tracks in the UK.1 point

Is there nowhere in the vicinity of Bournemouth Airport which seems to be very underused and a lot of land surrounding it? Just thinking that 2 hours speedway a week for 20 odd weeks could hardly be stopped on noise grounds.1 point

A "draw" will be enough for Glasgow to win the group, so I think they're pretty safe!1 point

OK, so it's not a surcharge on Seniors... but you're "encouraged" to pre-book meaning that there may be a certain demographic that are less likely to do this. Strange one as usually it's the other way around and you get surcharged for booking online. No doubt this has been done to death elsewhere on the forum1 point

Sounds harsh I know but the Brummies are actually stronger with guests for James Wright. Who is available when changes can be made? Surely they won't continue like this?1 point

I’d be more shocked if she actually got a decision correct. By far the worst ref1 point

I don't recall ever seeing a dust bowl at Foxhall. A sunny/clear afternoon contributes to a lack of grip, so the track will become slicker. Difficult balancing act, both on track prep/maintenance and the expectation of a potentially even larger attendance tempted by the sunshine.1 point

it is EUROSPORT so we will probably miss the first round of four heats and be live for the first track preparation break1 point

I think its important to recognise that the application is for a change to the Premises Licence ie. when and for how long they can serve alcohol. It is NOT an application to change the terms of the lease to run the stadium. The lease still requires a minimum of 2 Sports and/or Leisure Activities. Any talk of 'decamping to IOW or Eastbourne or wherever' is pure conjecture - or at worst simple $#!t stirring..1 point

I hate to say it, but I have to agree with you. I personally know - and have known - many, many indivduals who have suffered major strokes and other life-changing events. I will admit that quite a few of them are a "little different" to what they were pre-stroke, but not one of them has turned into such a totally bitter and unpleasant individual.1 point

I don’t think for one minute that anyone would suggest PC illness had no effect on his wellbeing BUT I can not and will not accept that should excuse his disgraceful behaviour at the book signing and his disrespectful treatment of Mr Casey who actually bought his book only to have defaced with an insulting message. PC issue was with BV not with Mr Casey!1 point

Personally, I wouldn't give PC any money after his shocking behaviour. The apology made it worse in my opinion, as it's clearly only an attempt to protect book sales.1 point

I think the moral of the story is "If you don't want the public to think of you as a dick who would viciously scrawl an obnoxious message on a book that a dying man had paid £20 for, then don't be a dick viciously scrawling an obnoxious message on a book that a dying man paid £20 for".1 point
