Sheffield have been saved by the weather there, had a feeling it could of been a big Panthers win4 points

Yes it's early days and nowt is won in April/May however this Birmingham team as it stands will not win anything, Yes they have a good No1 but his high average was built on being very very good around his former home Track at Leicester, take away that home track average and it is/was obvious to most people his average would drop, but that high average limits the remaining team building possibilities, that is the start of where the team building has imo gone wrong, yes it was also thought that this would be a strong team at home and that they could get the odd away point. I will say again, I have a lot of time for Laurence Rogers and he spends many hours doing good things within Speedway, but a good team manager he is NOT, whoever makes the decisions at Birmingham Speedway should be on the phone to Alun Rossiter and do whatever it takes to get him in as Team Manager at Birmingham, because take it from me Birmingham people will not spend their hard earned money on watching this team as it presently stands. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but something needs to be done otherwise I can see the West Midlands being without Speedway in the not to distant future.4 points

Greg Blair does come in for Stoneman who faces a few weeks out. Not so sure what all the fuss is about, its a comfortable home win.2 points

We'll wait to see. If it is the BBC forecast you are looking at I find their predictions increasingly inaccurate. The Met Office is a much better gauge, dry and sunny for Monday2 points

Very healthy crowd for the previous 2 meetings and plenty of OAPs amongst it so they were not put off by the new fangled internet and no cash.Sometimes I think people like to make out that the old are incapable of any new tech forgetting that most have been using it for years my opinion2 points

Riss hasn't got concussion. He has a low white blood cell count which they think has been caused by an infection.2 points

A good sized crowd can look small there as it has a high capacity and the back straight stand holds quite a few. Probably still around 2-2.5k there.2 points

I wish everyone involved all the luck in the world and a very big well done, and good luck to Workington in the coming season, whilst its obviously a work in progress "Rome was'nt built in a day" the main part is already done..2 points

Leicester running with their own contracted seven riders? A ridiculous situation... There should be rules about this... The crowds these days expect to see loads of lads from neither of the clubs appearing that night... Won't end well all this, you mark my words.2 points

Dan still loses too many points in Poland by getting passed up the inside... Pawlicki showed how to control hitting the bend at pace and keeping close to the white line.. Dan drifts to mid track too often. Wroclaw's No7 owes his team one..1 point

Do us a favour... lol This is the worse bham team that I can remember and ive been going for 52 years!1 point

I swear I heard L Rogers say Birmingham will be a suprise package this year. I remember listening think ' il have what he's having'. Got to feel to the fans the team is poor. Too reliant on Morris and sedgmen..1 point

There are no reductions for OAPs they pay the adult price, accompanied U16s are free entry, on the day ticket price is higher, surprisingly you will find at many events that on the day prices are higher than the advance ticket price. It's been done to death on here and social media since march last year when ticketing arrangements were announced that you cannot pay cash on the gate. If i'm honest i think there should be a reduction for OAPs, but it's not my business. Also surely if an OAP has no internet etc and cannot buy online, they could ask a family member or friend to buy them one and give them the cash, i did it lots of times last season for people i know in that predicament.1 point

Possibly... but I'm sure Oxford will have pulled in some cash in from people (like myself) who would have never attended this match.1 point

Looks like IOW. Government has offered a big ex Prison Ferry to run from Portland to IOW every Wednesday. They'll give migrants a night out if they buddy up with a Poole fan.1 point

Brady Kurtz rides tomorrow in Poland and not at Leicester for Belle Vue.. The UK give up Thursday as a protected race night.... The UK is already very much a 2nd rate nation when it comes to Speedway when up against Poland.. Poland even dictates when FIM meetings takes place such is their power... And, to be fair, with the money they pay out, they should dictate what happens and when, as without that money the riders wouldn't have the same income levels...1 point

Long been speedway's problem: clubs at the mercy of ruthless landlords. That said, Buxton (AFAIK) owned their stadium (rudimentary though it was) - yet packed up.1 point

It would be interesting and maybe conclusive if the PC list/letters could be published or posted on hear which would see who’s telling the truth or not once and for all.1 point

Just to correct the last paragraph - I was in the Peter Craven Suite last night for the amazing celebration of Steve Casey’s life so checked. At the top of the stairs, outside the suite, in gold letters, it says “Peter Craven Suite”. Below that, there is a photograph of the “Wizard of balance” himself. So yes there is a mention and yes there is a photo1 point

The best book I’ve read is, ‘Alan Carter: Light in the Darkness: The Truth About Mal, Kenny and Me’. One of those books you just can’t put down. Opens your eyes as to why Kenny had Alan had their demons.1 point

being a Wimbledon supporter PC was neither here nor there with me except in World Finals, but i was put off him after his treatment of Kenny Carter wanting a British Final to be on (84?). some can be great riders but not great people, and sometimes you have to differentiate between the two. i take people by how they treat me personally, others tell me to avoid so and so, or so and so is horrible, but i'll take everyone as i find them. saying that, it was quite a low move by PC with his message in Steve Casey's book1 point

Heartfelt apology or cynical PR damage limitation exercise? mmm Of course there will be opinions as to both. I know what mine is. It resembles the statements you see when MPs or other such celebrities get their fingers caught in the till or other such indiscretions where they are bang to rights. Here's where I have a problem with it : 1. Why did it take from the 2nd November until now to get the apology? 2. Would the apology have been forthcoming if the incident had not been published on social media? 3. If the apology was based on the fact that he didn't know of Steve's illness - is he saying he would be justified if Steve had had a clean bill of health? 4. He didn't know Steve was ill. Very, very difficult to believe. Steve was in communication with his wife (again to try and resolve the 'issues') and she was well aware. Plus I know many of his inner circle who also knew. And apparently Peter didn't? 5. A 35 year long feud that exploded on that particular night? really? 6. A 35 year long feud that spanned 4 different promotions? That takes you back to the time when he was part of one such promotion! The situation commenced in 2016 at the start of the NSS opening. That I do know. Interestingly, some 20+ ex-riders have been in touch to commiserate and ask about arrangements, I asked them the same question. - ''Did you get a free pass when PC was Promoter?'' the answer was unanimous and I will let you guess the answer. It may surprise you. The good news is that I am reliably informed that book sales have not been affected. At least that is one consolation to this whole affair The truth sets you free1 point

Perfect. Free speech - lets shut it down immediately. I see nothing but facts here personally - and if you don't like what is being said then you should jog on. It would be a pretty pointless forum if every thread was shut down on the basis of somebody not liking what they read. As a close personal friend of Steve's over many years - I am happy that a certain ex-rider is being exposed. And I know Steve's family feel the same way. There is way more to come out about this but might have to be on alternatives platforms if people like you insist on shutting down the truth.1 point

The book signing was public, for marketing- there is no obligation for this to remain private, especially as the buyer paid £20 for the privilege of getting a signature on the night. Outright vulgar behaviour to accept the cash then ruin the book, should have offered a refund and politely declined to sign.1 point
