  1. Now come on you lot, at least give them credit for originality

  2. I predict a call off on the basis of a horrendous forecast...... The weather may be fine but the forecast for the Lynn line up is horrendous

  4. Phil Morris should get down there and check the gate. If the gate is fine, it should be awarded 75-0 to Ipswich. It's the only way to stop this sort of thing, because it is a big part of what is killing the sport.

  8. Correct And the fact remains... That it is still Thirty Quid... For a couple to go its Sixty Quid.. For around just 35 mins of actual "entertainment" (which by subjective opinion can be very varied in quality)... In a cost of living crisis... That's what those who run, or who are involved in the sport, dont get, (many of whom will help out, and in exchange, get in for "free")... That really isnt value for money, when, as has already been said, half the nights "entertainment" could have zero interest for a fair proportion of your fanbase.. Thirty Pounds for the 15 heats you are interested in is the offer in the eyes of some, and whether the club wants you to see it as that or not is irrelevant, as VFM is in the eye of the purchaser not the seller.. And, not seen any line ups obviously, but if it follows the majority of meetings in the UK, those 15 heats you are interested in could have a "few" guests on show, (with more over the two meetings) to reduce the relevance of what is on offer even further, meaning you are stretching the loyalty of even your most die hard followers with such a price point.. I have shook my head many times when having discussions with Promoters, and their support crew, around why crowds are so low, as they really do not "get it"... They invariably "love the sport" and become emotionally attached to riders, wanting them to have the most opportunities to earn money for the risks they take, and the machinery investment, so cannot see why their tracks are not "packed out" every week with fans showing the same enthusiasm for the sport that those within the sport do.. Unfortunately that can also prevent them from seeing the "bigger picture" that not everyone in their fanbase feels the same and, given the lack of credibility in the operating model, and/or maybe a dodgy weather forecast, you can see why even your most loyal followers sometimes can "take it or leave it" on any given night.. Emotional blackmail of "use it or lose it" also doesnt wash, as it is not the customers who must blindly follow the business, it is the business who must provide what the punters want, (not what they "think" the punters want).. Hopefully those of us looking at Sixty Quid for a couple to attend for 35 mins of "entertainment", as being "a bit optimistic and out of touch", will be completely wrong, and the place is full to the rafters...

  9. If the stock car gate was broken why wasn’t that event abandoned? Unless it happened on the very last lap of the very last race or the whole story is a complete lie.

  10. If we accept the reason for postponing for a moment then surely the stock car meeting on Monday would have been abandoned after the gate was damaged beyond repair ?? And what part’s could you possibly be waiting for ? A bespoke made heavy duty metal gate with hinges please please don’t treat your customers as idiots.

  11. Obviously there are no engineering firms in kings lynn with the ability to straighten out/ replace some bent steelwork.what a crock of rubbish

  12. UNFORTUNATELY we have just been informed that due to significant damage to the stock car fence, which includes our pit gate, we will be unable to safely run the speedway event on Thursday evening. It was hoped replacement parts for the pit gate fence would be with us after several massive hits from Bank Holiday Monday’s stock car event. However, these parts will now not be with us until Friday morning.Norfolk Arena Limited are disappointed to have to postpone the meeting against Ipswich, but with rider and public safety always the most important thing, we have had no option but to inform the speedway promotion of the situation.A new date will be released as soon as possible.

  20. I think the biggest problem at Berwick at the moment isn't what they charge to get in, it's the track provides little or no entertainment. It really has been pretty awful stuff served up so far this year

  21. Very early stage of the season but rising star averages for 2023 (league matches) J.Jenkins 4.00 (5) D.Thompson 3.64 (3) D.Gilkes 3.60 (3) L.Flint 3.33 (3) J.Edwards 2.80 (3) J.Thompson 1.54 (4) J.Mulford 1.27 (6) Leicester can have no complaints about Dan imo

  23. I'm not suggesting he should be dropped. All I'm saying is that when a rider knows he's about to be dropped becomes very keen to beat their teammates. If he was dropped it's due to the points issue not performances and I'd imagine he'd walk right in to Birmingham's team anyway

  24. Well done Poole probably enough of a lead we lose by 18 but it doesn’t take a genius to work out where the match was put out of our reach and unfortunately whilst Poole have Newman at reserve and fair play to them for that the same will happen next week it was an improvement on last time but no stupid comments like some might make sometimes you have to say on the night we were beaten by the better team.

  25. And if it was broken on Monday three days to get someone to fix it and make safe surely wouldn’t be hard. klidnt is unavailable as is Pickering and they’ve cancelled the meeting to hope to have a better chance at a later date, pretty obvious, broken gate is a smokescreen

  26. Spot on... However, to deliver two full teams each meeting would mean a Speedway Season lasting about five years... (In fact, it could be one of their five year plans that always prove so successful)...

  28. And they've already penciled in Wolves v Sheffield on the 15th May to replace the Pairs with the KO Cup semi-final,before the side have even ridden the 2nd leg of the qtr-final against Belle Vue. So have the Aces been told don't bother trying to win it will mess up the fixture list.

  35. I know of 6 engineering firms in Lynn alone, and plenty of timber suppliers. Not sure what parts they are waiting 4 days for though

  37. It’s not to do with the pairs. But the pairs is now a one off at Leicester which is great news because the track is really good now so it should be some meeting
