He told the club during the day he was retiring. Not going to exactly go out and put himself in risky places knowing he’s done after this or exactly put in full effort is he. Some riders wouldn’t of bothered Turning up and I respect him even more for actually doing so.4 points

When Doyle retires, he would make a wonderful track curator. Even while riding, he spends so much of his time closely inspecting the tracks...3 points

Didn’t think I would ever say this but….. I enjoying the racing tonight (and last night) at Marketa stadium. I would really like Vaculik to have the ultimate success. He can fly, no doubt about it but….he hesitates when wanting to have a go at passing where the most successful go for it if they think there is a fair chance of doing it. Dudek is another that also does the same.3 points

Some good speedway today, beaten by the better team who had 3 solid heat leaders. Mechanicals and falls cost the Comets valuable points. Harry continues to struggle with only 6 points from 15 rides to date a bit of a concern. Connor was good value today and rode a brilliant heat 15 before what looked like a mechanical cost him a much deserved win. Elliot was in the wars again and may also have suffered a mechanical for his second big of,f hope he isn't too bad. Great comeback for young Luke Harrison who also had a mechanical when in a scoring position. The skipper won't have been happy, he also had a mechanical in his his first ride when in a scoring position. More seating had been installed on the first bend since last week and it looked great so well done to all concerned. Unfortunate delay when someone took ill in the crowd with 2 races to go and once again on a breezy warm day it was hard work to keep the dust down. Missed Ranting Roy today, never thought I would say that. Well done to the Fen tigers.3 points

Hate to say, it, but I thought it was his fault; not first bend bunching...3 points

Would say he's about 85% at the moment no issues on the bike but feels it when the adrenaline stops. As a family we are happy with his recovery so far2 points

It is really good to see two young Brits up there near the top . I would never have imagined it ten years or so ago when it was just Tai W. Genuinely think Bewley, Lambert, Woffy and whoever else they pick have a good chance in the SWC. Who will be the 4th rider though? Is it back to 4 riders plus a reserve/u21?2 points

Where else would Tai be? He was in front on the inside, off the inside gate and there was no gap to go for.2 points

And vice versa. Ridiculous meeting the same club so many times in the first part of the season. At least the weather is set fair and no chance of a rainoff for either legs.2 points

Plymouth fans must be bored of seeing Poole are my thoughts.2 points

Did Leicester Lions not make a similar claim of some "massive news" that turned out to be the signing of Max Perry?2 points

That was not a bad meeting. With Marketa stadium reputation I was expecting a lot worse. Rew and Roe tailed off a bit at the end, shame really. How come round 1 of GP2 has taken over the thread for round 2 scheduled for two weeks time?2 points

I don't see why all this "Keyboard Warrior" s#!te has kicked off again. I've not seen one complaint about Brady & the signing of Laguta. If anything, most fans are unhappy with everything that's going on around him. Alex is the new guy & the club is suffering from the same mistakes for the last decade. That's clear evidence the issues are elsewhere. Fingers crossed for Alex but unless others move on he'll be fighting a losing battle at King's Lynn & end up tarred with the same brush. We once had a guy very similar to him, in that he'd travel to GP's, Ekstraliga, Elitserien meetings, chatting with rider's, marketing the club locally but eventually British Speedway knocked the stuffing out of him. He was the son of our (past) owner. Personally I'd forget about Poland, go looking at the youngsters from America, Germany, France, Argentina etc, these guys would be absolutely grateful for a chance & give you everything they have. Even 16-18yo Swedes & Danes are worth a shot over employing the same old same old year in, year out. Alex, pleeeeeeeeease do something different for 2024. Source new track material & find new rider's & do it your way. You're listening & learning from the wrong people who have already done a very poor job for over a decade at this club.2 points

Brady has spent money to try & improve Lynn, so I can't see how fans can knock him. It's the other riders that need a kick up the arse.2 points

Also meeting completed in 70 mins included grading breaks, which is excellent, well done to the scunny promotion.2 points

Yes, we did. My wife was happy to do all the driving from and to York, so very much win win. :-) Lovely day to be crossing Stainmore and sliding beneath Blencathra. One of the clearest views of the Kirkcudbrightshire coast I've ever had from the Workington-Maryport area. Very impressed with the track and the facilities. The racing was more interesting - less processional - in the second half of the match. Workington seemed to have a month's worth of bad luck in one meeting but, as others have said, there's no substitute for three strong heat leaders (not to mention useful points from one of your reserves). Can't help feeling floodlights (on the cards, eventually?) and evening meetings would suit Workington better. While the days are long, would it be worth starting a bit later - maybe 4pm or 4.30pm? On a day like today, might give the track a better chance. During the pregnant pause between heats 13 and 14, I did a rough spectator head count. Came to about 800.1 point

Exactly. And he is STILL proving himself to be one of the very best riders in the world - despite what some may say...1 point

Certainly has adapted to Monmore much quicker than Leon Flint. But starting off at Plymouth and not Berwick has probably had a lot to do with it.1 point

More fool you for believing such an idiotic comment. Anyone who knows Kyle knows he would not do such a thing.1 point

Whenever you hear the riders interviewed though they all seem to love the track. Although Scott Nicholls said on a podcast I was listening to that some riders can be scared of it. One thing's for sure that even if the riders love it that doesn't always equal great speedway racing.1 point

Beat Newport back in 2006 75-15( maximum win) with the "Dream Team" so all 7 would have maximums. http://scunthorpe-speedway.com/?page_id=80 https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/1460/scunthorpe-newport-cl-3pm1 point

That is a real shame, and I would think he will return at some point. He looked so promising as a youngster, and that ability is still within him. He needs to get his head in the right (positive) place, and carry on practising wherever he can, and return to the sport next season, better for it. Only he can do that, nobody else. So good luck Kyle as you try to reinvent yourself. You've got talent, so please don't throw it away, and return in 2024 with a different mindset, you can do it.1 point

Yeah I’d agree not solely down to Drew however the team seem to be firing together now and are strong therefore should be near the sharp end1 point

KK can perform on any track on any day of the week, it's just whether he feels like it at the time. Have seen him several times as a number 1 run 2 lasts and then make everyone look like an amateur in the next 3 races. A very likeable chap but ultimately frustrating at times1 point

Any thing controversial you just use “ In the best interest of the Sport rule “ no arguments. It’s handy at times.1 point

I read this forum regularly and didn't see any criticism of Adams or CVS, not by the Wolves fans anyway. Was this criticism posted elsewhere ? I do admit I had my own personal doubts about our prowess in heat 15, but as shown against Ipswich we can hold our own. So very happy with that currently.1 point

Coventry speedway website.... Thursday June 01, 2023IT has now been confirmed that Brandon Estates have appealed to the Secretary of State against the unanimous refusal by Rugby Borough Council’s Planning Committee to grant planning permission. The refusal notice was dated November 16, 2022, and from that point the applicants had six months with which to lodge an appeal. The appeal was lodged on May 12, 2023.The appeal will be determined on the basis of a public inquiry, the date of which is to be confirmed. We have copies of the appeal documents and we can assure everyone that these will be scrutinised with exactly the same rigour as in all previous submissions made on behalf of Brandon Estates. We will point out to the Planning Inspectorate any errors or untruths which appear in these documents. We will also be applying for Rule 6 status with the Inspectorate which will enable us to formally participate in the appeal process. All correspondence received by Rugby Borough Council relating to this application has been forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate. If you sent an e-mail or letter to RBC (either supporting or opposing the application) you should have received an e-mail or letter explaining the process. This also gives you the opportunity to contact the Inspectorate at the contact details given in the letter, and either modify or withdraw your previous representation – or to make further comments. If you wish to re-affirm your opposition (or support) for the planning application, you are more than welcome to contact the Inspectorate.Should you make further comments, please note that these should be entirely regarding the Brandon Estates planning application, rather than our own application which is currently on hold whilst this process takes place. We can assure everyone that we will be working to ensure that the Inspectorate are provided with all the facts required such that the decision taken by the members of the Planning Committee at Rugby Borough Council, and supported by an overwhelming majority of the general public, is upheld on appeal.1 point

To be honest whilst the actions were despisably petty it has only had a positive effect on the Nora operations and gained a lot of support and interest from across the sport. Ultimately all publicity is good publicity and i hope it has not only strengthened the resolve of those involved but also tempted more to join the ranks.1 point

The newbies I’ve been bringing for a few months now have started asking questions. One 14 year old asked “why do some riders ride for us one week, then for the other team the other weeks?” It really does feel like one or two riders have done that at PB this season so far. I haven’t checked but a youngster has picked up on something .1 point
