What a great advert for speedway that would be.... "meeting postponed because Poole want to host the second leg..." For Heavens sake.9 points

A neutral's perspective, watching on TV. There were still plenty of exciting races and good moves to make it enjoyable. Hagon and NKI didn't seem overly bothered by the conditions and watching Bewley, Kurtz, Lidsey and even Blodorn using track craft to position themselves in the right position on the track to pass riders made it an enjoyable watch still8 points

If it is wet, and they still run, the racing will be very processional... One line with loads of grip... Won't be great to watch... They would have to remove "lots" of material and there would still be a "berm" that will develop that the riders will use... PUK got his track record in similar conditions.. The final deserves a showpiece event not a gating competition....6 points

Think you have to credit Hagon there, rather than saying it was dreadful from Blodorn.5 points

If Oxford is off Wednesday the first leg will be Poole on Friday!5 points

Just watched it on YT... Some cracking racing... Bllodorn third to first... NKI's move on Becker.. Bewley and Kurtz going either side of riders for fun.. And Sam Hagon showing one or two of his more experienced team mates how to ride the NSS.. Not many tracks in perfect condition would bring up racing that good tonight...4 points

Indeed, every season people say the team that loses a final has "bottled it" is it not possible a team just lost because their opponents were better?4 points
-
Why would they not support their team? Given Leicester has rolled BV over twice at home this year why would anyone think it's a done deal? Those of us who no longer have a team would love to have one in a final, with a chance to win still.4 points

Wondering if everyone who complained that the meeting wasn't called off early, admit they were wrong & give the Belle Vue promotion / track staff credit?4 points

The Ferrari F1 ride is mental... I am going to ask if it accelarates from a standing start faster than a Speedway bike... And then let Kelvin know...4 points

What's the forecast like for Sheffield and Ipswich? If it is ok, maybe they could be picked to be the finalists instead? 😁4 points

There's no easy way agreed but year on year the play offs and finals are raced in conditions alien to the rest of the season . Speedway has prostituted itself to tv tbf and there are so many blank weeks in summer your first sentence doesn't hold much water3 points

A line to sum up British Speedway... And why it isn't taken seriously... That said... Get the red smoke flares out for Thursday... The Manc invasion is on.....3 points

I'm sure Poole are not going to force him to ride, if he feels fine and wants to, it's up to him3 points

I think all the teams in the league have been grateful for emil riding in the uk the last two years, put numbers on every gate! class act on and off the track3 points

Currently 26C and Sunny where I am... In Salou... (If it helps anyone)....😁😇3 points

There is some stupid talk on here. If Oxford is postponed Poole will be the first leg end of. I have this from the promoters mouth earlier today. And Poole are at home next Wednesday to Scunthorpe as already agreed and that will not change.3 points

And you've made your choice, but you don't get to choose the weather3 points

Belle Vue are favourites for sure but I'm such a proud lions supporter this season. In our history we are usually the whipping boys so this is just fun to be here. Don't expect flares and bend 2 army folks were just glad we're here lol3 points

Entitled is certainly a good word when it comes to Poole.3 points

What do you want to be said, they put 2 posts on social media today, a meeting preview and a race day update with times, so it’s on, if it wasn’t on they’d have announced it was off.3 points

I’m concerned that if TV company turn up then that’s it, the pressure will be to get it on. We know the track can take water but we had a hell of a lot and it will be sodden, in July for SoN a couple of hours sun would start to dry it out. that’s not going to happen now in cold overcast conditions.3 points

The Kings Lynn promotion would have called both meetings off by now - For commercial reasons. 😜3 points

Ben is keen to be back racing as soon as possible. He definitely doesn't think his season is over.3 points

Belle Vue wanted it more and were willing to put their necks on the line to win it. I feel the result would have been similar on a dry track too. Sam Hagon was excellent but a few of the other Leicester riders need to take a look at themselves in the mirror. Special praise has to go to the track staff for getting the meeting on at all and still producing some good racing despite the conditions.2 points

The weather dictates racing like tonight.. And from what I have read the Aces seemed to pass easily enough.. And, if you are a Leicester fan... You won't be used to close racing anyway... Gate. Go. Hit bend apex. Drift up bend. Lock up. Go down straight.. Rinse and Repeat...2 points
-
Because the track will be wet and we are awful in wet conditions. Most fans will be there but a few hundred won't bother watching there team come second. Leicester lot are a miserable bunch you should hear Leicester City fans...moan moan moan. I support West Ham so I'm an exception2 points
-
Riders and Spectators perspective.. He flew round it reading the updates.. A wet NSS delivers "different speedway" to normal racing there.. On TV it can look poor, when there, the speed the likes of Bewley and Kurtz manage to get, inches from the fence at full gas, 50 yards in front, is still pretty impressive..2 points

I think that’s just one too many heat advantages to concede for the Lions. Only two race winners all night and no heat advantages although they did tuck in well for a number of shared heats. Got to point the finger at Fricke.A GP rider on a track he should know well and turns in 3 points, absolutely p*ss poor. Dickson will be furious. Young Hagon has to be worth a mention. Rode his socks off and put in a massive contribution. Hats off the Aces big guns, they simply don’t know when they’re beaten and breeze past the opposition with ease at home.2 points

We can't tell you support Leicester can we🤔 That's why you aren't a team manager.2 points

Its a shame the weather has spoilt the racing really. Damage limitation now for the Lions. Just get that heat win2 points

Why is it that interviewers think it appropriate to think they can just breeze into the pits and expect everyone to drop everything to answer a few banal questions???2 points

A 'poor ' Belle Vue track is better than a good track virtually anywhere else. Given the rain that has fallen I think it is remarkably good2 points

no idea if you are serious or trying to stoke up discussion however id say that those who go to lynn regularly have the ambition of seeing riders turn up every week and the club not get dicked around by the likes of laguta, jakobsen, museilak and tarasenko. to be represented by riders who put lynn and the uk first lets not forget we won a lot of home meetings this year through 'strength in depth' ive seen a team suggested with bomber and jenkins at reserve and a solid top five who all ride lynn well and that is quite exciting, realistically a big name number one probably isnt happening and that might not be a bad thing up the stars2 points

Although Crawfords are on hand to come in as a guest biscuit if anything happens to Mcvities....2 points

Yes, I suppose it is! Maybe a few meetings can be preserved in the traditional version for analogue old farts2 points

And seemingly not 1 forum member noticed either. With all the guest guesswork on the Poole thread it’s amazing Drew slipped through everyone’s net2 points

Thanks for that, I dare say the first news we will hear from Belle Vue officially will be at 7.30pm tonight when everyone that is attending in person will be in the stadium and Eurosport kicks off.2 points

Interesting to listen to the BSN interview with Scott Nicholls after the Oxford vs Scunny match as to why he wasn't there at the CLRC. And despite being tee-ed up to say that he was carrying an injury niggle he instead opted to commendably tell the truth and cited "logistics" as the reason he wasn't there. This brings up a number of questions, assuming "logistics" means that he was in Vojens the previous evening, which he would have known about at the beginning of the season when the GP fixture list was released, then why leave it so late to pull out of the meeting? Scott Nicholls would have been one of the top name draws to the CLRC, a draw that was "confirmed" on the 8th of August! I suspect the whole truth behind these late withdrawals is not always as it seems.2 points
