Our 2nd night tonight in Poznan. Tomorrow we're on the train to Torun and spend 2 nights in Torun for the GP. Home Sunday. All travel and accommodation for less than 2 nights in a Cardiff hotel for our own GP. Something wrong there.4 points

Touché. I think both call offs were right but your hypocrisy in not calling out Poole the way you did Oxford is now visible for everyone to see.4 points

The bikes are less forgiving these days and you have such a small optimal useable range that outside that range the bike is uncompetitive and it’s reading things like that you think well why don’t we make the engines like we had before where it was competitive without a limited range, well the answer is because the sport is run by the riders for the riders via the tuners and it’s quite the little cartel they have going and turkeys don’t vote for Xmas4 points

Fricke never seems the man for big meetings. He isn’t a number one I’d want leading my team personally. just not in the same league as the likes of Emil/Doyle etc. No doubt he will prove me wrong next Monday but I doubt it. He was abysmal on Monday .3 points

Can't be easy to arrange a date that 'works' for everyone....it's more important that Alan's memory is being honoured! Well done to B'ham for putting this meeting on in the first place!3 points

I think it's unlikely he rides again this season imo, the fact he's booked an assessment tells you it wasn't a mild concussion, I'm sure he's desperate to get back but just don't think it's worth the risk.2 points

Didn't you cancel a meeting because of a leaky pipe? Leicester never done that 😂😂😂2 points

Any truth in the rumour that both Poole and Oxford have called in track expert Starman to offer his priceless pearls of wisdom for both October 5 and October 9.2 points

I thought they also said or a structured second half with races and not riders just doing laps would suffice2 points

What a shambles calling off with a perfect forecast and hoping that October will be better.2 points

A Leicester fan I spoke with on Monday said it's been drastically improved since then, you're so living in the past down there on the south coast.2 points

They’re not building teams as in getting signatures on paper bar the odd one or two riders that won’t affect team building regardless of points limit. There are frequent meetings leading up to the annual AGM where everything is discussed and things are loosely agreed prior to the AGM itself. But there are promoters that know (and there’s a few that lurk here I promise you), that nothing is set in stone until the conference. There can be a points limit agreed by the majority, only for a few to change their mind at the AGM and swing it the other way scuppering plans that certain promotions had in place. There isn’t a single promotion that can make concrete plans until the conference has been completed.2 points

Flint will surely be at Birmingham. They have the right to retain him and I’m not sure why they wouldn’t.2 points

Quite. Yes, I served my apprenticeship at the factory at the bottom of Sterte Avenue. Our carpark was at the waters edge back then, with the slipway outside the gate by the sea cadets.2 points

And most are there because it’s their team not because it’s speedway, it’s tribalism and it’s the very foundation of any team sport but the concept is lost on British speedway2 points

There isn’t really a thing called “the set up” they are all within a tweet or two from being somewhere near, it’s just a trendy thing to say these days, different riders have different set ups, bikes that ride well one day more often than not won’t work the next day on the same track with the same bike set up, when you hear a professional say they don’t have the right set up after their second ride it means they were crap but are too vain to say it, it’s bs like saying p1 or p2 when first or second, it’s just modern speak2 points

It's only because we had a months worth of rain in 24 hours... there's never been a match cancelled at Leicester because of rubble poking through the track2 points

Poole, Leicester (who didn't need to stage a round but did) and Berwick have all staged meetings. By my reckoning, the other two clubs who have to stage a round are Ipswich and King's Lynn - I assume Plymouth don't, because of the British Under-21 semi-final. Any idea when the dates will be?1 point

I don't think it's daft at all, allows riders to race on 500cc machines at a competitive level at 15, without the pressures of the higher leagues. Don't forget he'll still be at School too.1 point

Whilst I agree I suppose, I won't be signing as I couldn't really care less who is in the GP's, more interested in who will be riding and committed in the UK.1 point

Think Gorzow can lay the blame firmly at Wozniak.’s door, for a GP rider his form over the 2 legs has been abysmal1 point

Oh I agree if it came down to it I would probably prefer Ellis to King as a second string as he is likely to improve …. What I’m sick of is the constant King bashing he is at a certain level and as I said I did better than Ellis from a harder riding position which people seem to forget1 point

My guess is (sorry to repeat previous) that the drainage itself isn't as much the problem. it's more about being able to empty the sub-track tanks if the vehicles required to be filled with and take away water, and those required to do track maintenance, would need to be driven onto and along a track which is still very soft from the huge amount of recent rain. We wouldn't want a speedway match to be run, with riders having to go either side of a marooned lorry partway along the back straight. The way the money was raised to finance the building of Beaumont Park may have been questionnable, but it was fully privately-funded and didn't have the benefit of any provision from public funds. While it's true that the land it occupies is owned by the local council, the stadium also had to be fitted into a tight space, with restricted vehicular access around the perimeter, especially to the north where the perimeter is an industrial estate. Almost every year, work has been carried out over the winter to try to improve the track and drainage. But sometimes you can't overcome the effects of Mother Nature, so this decision is completely reasonable and sensible.1 point

Not so sure about that, Hagon has been an unmitigated disaster signing, the only reason the fans haven't been on his back is that he was no better or worse than JT, he started off steadily but since the end of July has barely been able to score a single point. Personally I'd be looking at Luke Kileen, I like what I've seen of him1 point

Over sized engines are rare these days, mainly because the tuners would literally lose their whole business by making an engine oversize for a rider and in the uk with the exception of belle vue you wouldn’t gain an advantage by having an oversized engine,if you went to a track like lakeside you might possibly run an undersized engine, carbs are easily checked and again not really in blixt interest to make oversize carbs although he does make a 38mm version for grasstrack but as I said easily checked, they did away with the silencer cheating by making a hole in the silencer which is what the cheats were doing, fuel is open to cheating but something like nitro makes they eyes run of anybody around the bike, there were some who dipped their filters in nitro but they started checking filters by swiping them, I think on the whole riders are just looking for an edge within the rules which to be honest are quite simple, I’m sure there will always be some but they usually raise suspicion and checks randomly begin, ignitions are varied and there was a bit of suspicion about the karger box but as I posted elsewhere zmarzlik doesn’t use them and he is the best in the world, speedway like most Motorsports is full of fads, someone tries something, wins a meeting and then the whole of the sport jumps on the bandwagon and then they find out it didn’t really work but psychologically it gave that rider the edge he needed, the jhr rear frames seem to be the latest fad, do they work ? Well zmarzlik brought 20 of them last month and he back on Jawa or Stuha,,lindgren uses them and he was poor at vojens so do they work ?1 point
