If true, why can't they convince the fans to turn up on Thursdays for Premiership racing? Or even enter a NDL team as well as Champ? If they are the "best supporters ever" they'll turn up & support the team whatever right?

Hi guys, starting tonight at 7:30pm on YouTube, Plymouth Speedway are showing weekly reruns of their 2024 home meetings that were streamed live by Gladiators TV.

Oxford run an NDL team and it’s extremely profitable. Close to 1,000 people turn up each time a meeting is held. If Oxford can do it, surely ‘the best club in the world’ can make it a success.

The issue is that riders have been paid excessively by certain clubs and now others have to pay over the odds to keep up.

For all my followers i did have a TREBLE celebration flat white on Thursday morning. It's taken me until now to report it because I've been celebrating so much because Poole are the best club in the speedway world with the best supporters ever. So there we go, yippeeeee! Hiccup.

Have you thought if 1 H 1A means less money for clubs to lose, rather than 2H 2A

But surely the super Poole supporters would come to see the developing talent? Or are Poole just happy to steal from the pot without contributing to the future of British Speedway?

He's said he doesn't want the pressure of riding for his dad's club. He's also said his preference was Belle Vue because of the track. He doesn't like Leicesters.

Majority want a certain figure. Mind that has changed before after it had been agreed.

Nope, if any 37 year old goes for an apprenticeship but is denied due to age, the company could be sued for age discrimination. Sport shouldn't be any different. Besides Garrod has developed more than most in the NDL this season.

Ridiculous that Oxford can hold the championship to ransom, let them run 2 teams and give us 2 home and 2 away

In my humble opinion Anders Rowe out of three is by far the strongest rising star and has the highest ceiling

Agree Edward’s firmly on an upward trend but can’t agree he’s progressed more than Dan t or rowe. dan t went from 4.86 to 7.55 last season in the champ

There's no better smell. I tried to get the Mrs to buy some so i can put a cap full in the petrol mower. It would certainly get me cutting the grass more often i said.

He rode 18 matches for Oxford in BL2 (the second-half junior league). As far as I know he never made it to the British or National Leagues. He rode 3 seasons for Oxford juniors, 86 to 88

So it looks like Sam and Vinnie heading up north , as they say . Poole could be doing the wrong thing letting them both go .

Many, many sports clubs accross multiple sports are loss making, and only propped up by the owners. IIt's not exclusively a speedway thing

I've read Briggo kept crashing and that Ronnie Green ask Ronnie Moore to take him under his wing and show him what was what. I seem to remember Donkey wasn’t too shy of a crash or two when he 1st started out. Briggo as we know went on to win multiple world titles and Donkey a Stella career. I think Vinny has a bright future. What he lacks in experience and track craft he makes up for it with his never say die attitude. Quite a few of those young riders and not so young should take a leaf out of Vinny's book. You won’t see him 1/4 of a lap behind like we saw some riders at Poole the other night !!

Depends how they worded it, if they were like "we want to do all 3 leagues, but can only manage 1 home & 1 away", then it's up to the remaining Championship clubs to decide if they want 16 league fixtures with Oxford in the league or 28 league fixtures with Oxford not in the league? Oxford can't make the rest of the league do what they want them to do. Of course if there's too many fixtures for Oxford, another option would be to remove them from the BSN series & have 2 groups of 4 (Plymouth, Poole, Redcar & Scunthorpe) and (Berwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow & Workington) would at least mean 13 home matches minimum?

George Hislop was a regular second-halfer at Edinburgh in 1988 Are you sure about the Oxford date? Is it the SEMI FINAL on 8 May 1988. Ian Batley was a regulqar second-halfer at Oxford that year though The Long Eaton date is 1985 and David Biles of Poole is listed at no 15 in the programme.

Another fixture list like last season will be a disaster for some Teams.Everything Rosy though in Promoter’s eyes.

Think there's a lot thinking that way,it was much better when you had your weekly fix,think there will be a few more fans drop off next season.

quite agree @Arch Stanton has been vocal about this and i agree, let riders go where they want but dont dress it up or pretend that its a draft when it aint id imagine every club is happy with their rs anyway

Very similar to Tim Stone at Newport, done a fantastic job to bring the sport back and put his money where his mouth was. Stoney wasn't everyone's cup of tea (myself included) but put his life into the place. Granted, Len didn't let things get as bad as Stoney did at Newport but you'll see what I mean. Stoney brought the sport back and built it up very high very fast, and the memories he brought to Newport fans will never be forgotten. Post 2003, Newport fans prayed Stoney would sell up and move over for someone else and the family everyone wanted to take over eventually did and we all seen what happened pretty quickly once they did. Len brought speedway back to Rye when nobody else could or would and within a couple of seasons they were a Premier League mega force. The 05 and 07 teams Len built were superb and you'd actually enjoy and admire seeing them come to Newport, especially Robbo who was pure box office. The sport could certainly do with a lot more promoters in the mold of Len Silver now that's for sure.

Poland are not doing "anyone over"... The UK had Thursday as their priority night... And they gave it up so Poland could use it... No point complaining now...

Give me 40 with an 8 team league and 2H2A, rather than 38 with a 9 team league and 1H1A.
