  3. Who is Lewi ?. Lot of Poole fans on the Plymouth thread when they moan about Plymouth fans on there thread , oh the irony.

  4. Looks more like his opinion, but going by your sarcastic reply offering his opinion is clearly not allowed on this thread.

  5. I'll disagree on that one, lots of 2 point riders get a second season & Jack is better than all of them. Maybe if he did worse last year could fit into some teams, explain that to non-speedway fans

  6. i understand him just fine

  7. Rev limiters are just daft to be a compulsory item - The engines on track are around 11K and the rev limiters are set at 13.5K. The damage to engines is being done mainly on the start line. Riders only have themselves to blame if they like starting with the bike bouncing off a limiter. With the 250 lads we have been recommending a completely different set up to the normal as the 250 lads and lasses are bouncing off the limiter halfway down the straights. The amount of excuses we get from dads of the riders saying but they need to rev more etc etc!! The silencer rule I can understand for Prem/Championship but not for U16's and NDL/NTL as the silencers have not changed since 2015. The only difference is going to be a date stamp. Lots of perfectly good silencers will now go in the bin. RRP of a silencer is £270, so if 2 are needed then that is £540, then the cheapest way to get a rev limited set up is with a PVL system which if you already have, you only need to change the coil, but these are £170 each so another £340. I fail to see how this is helping riders keep costs down when both of these requirements are not really needed. Also, I know that there is currently a shortage of King Silencers as they just can't keep up with demand, so what happens then? Pretty much every rider here and abroad uses a King silencer. There are other makes but these are just not available.

  9. Meanwhile Brummies set to announce James Shanes, Zac Wajneckht and Ashley Morris and Workington will have Carl Stonehewer at No 1....😶‍🌫️

  11. Well either somebody has dropped a bollock or the set up and structure of the NDL Trophy is going to be very different to NDL, which would completely ruin the objective and aims of the new concept. Morley's last CL season saw him finish on a 4.40 GSA with Plymouth. He's ridden many seasons in CL and in PL Surely the rule has to be if you're illegible for NDL you're illegible for The Trophy

  12. They couldn't have Wojdylo as he is far too difficult for Scott Nicholls to pronounce!!

  13. They spoke to Dudek, but nothing came of it. Last I heard it was between Madsen and Kubera - but nothing concrete.

  18. because people want to see the better riders the championship will begin without pickering nicholls schlein brennan and b cook and some of the named sides look pretty ropey compared to last season many folk will pay more to see their team but you cant blame those who refuse to absorb the price hike

  19. The rule was, if a rider had ever averaged above 4, they couldn't race in NDL. So even 3 points riders like William Lawson could no longer ride in it. Rules must have changed to allow Morley & Harrison to race in the development league, just wish they'd announce the rule changes.

  20. He rarely has a full season to try & "kick on" this year was probably one where he rode most of the season, very good at reserve, averaging above 5, but poor in the top 5, so his average dropped pretty much back to where it started. I'd pick him if I had 3.7 available, but not over 4 like Workington have left.

  22. British Speedway majorly messed up the involvement of Sky Sports But, other Sports such as cricket has huge financial resources to promote itself, as does football, as does Rugby, tennis etc Speedway doesn't have resources to do so, and feel tweeting to the same audience is marketing

  23. To be fairto Jack in 2023 he was quick round workington And does put in odd good performance But don't think hes going g to improve much at this stage of his career But Mason campton was similar once he got a couple of steady years in he played a big part in workingtons treble winning season

  25. He does and would imagine he would be a very long way down the list given the amount of options available with 4.3 points to play with.

  26. Does Jack Smith fit at 7? Doesnt sound like hes going to be involved at glasgow and if starke ends up at poole then possibly a shout. Did well enough to get out of the reserve berth at glasgow

  27. More likely that the rules have changed, given the BSPL press release said that the Regs for NDL and NT woukd be the same. Also, on the NDL thread there was a query regarding people like Luke Harrison now being ineligible as he achieved a Championship average over 4 - the response being that he had been told he would be eligible

  28. Must be a different rule for Trophy then.... No fault of Kent to take advantage if so but I'd imagine a few will be fuming who may have not been allowed same dispensation in the NDL.

  31. I'm glad he will be tbh, I have a soft spot for the chargers (not sure why as I don't really have a soft spot for the Spires or Cheetahs). I enjoy watching their reruns on YouTube and they've always got a young and exciting team, jody being one of them. Nice to see them sticking with him.

  34. Personally I don't think running it like Poland would work, we have to face up to the fact that the sport is just not as popular anymore, there is just too much other stuff your money can be spent on in this country.

  35. Think what appears to be a delay in the Glasgow team reveal possibly, a few alternative options are now available? At the reserve positions!

  36. I'd guess five, with Perry (he's got a place for definite), Hodder, James, Spencer and Scott seeming the most likely candidates.

  37. Spot on.. Some truly compare Apples to Oranges.. Even Ice Hockey is getting (at least), double the crowds . Speedway is a tiny, tiny minority sport in the grand scheme of things.. Some seem to think it should be followed by hundreds of thousands.. Run it like Poland, and you may have chance.... Otherwise, cut your cloth, and accept it for what it is .. A bit "made up, Mickey Mouse" stuff that can be a great night out if you ignore someone trying to make you believe it really means something that it clearly isn't..

  38. Of course it’s a massive drop off, the team that finished last season needed to have 6.49 points taken off of it to make the limit for this season. They will still have one of the strongest teams in the league and will be challenging for silverware even if they pick Paul Starke. The continual hand wringing concerning whether the team will be strong enough really is boggling my mind.

  39. In June he will be dropped for Cairns

  40. Plenty of dull speedway races during a meeting right? At least the facilities at Portman Road are an upgrade on anything Foxhall provides. And I guess the atmosphere is slightly better, if only British Speedway was 1% as successful as premier league football hey

  41. Think Hodder will be fine at Glasgow the way they prep the track there,he was dire for Berwick everywhere last season didn't improve at all

  42. I don't think Knudsen as as bad as some are making out, but I would've preferred Ablitt, if I was an Oxford fan.

  44. I’ve just watched the first half of ITFC vs Crystal Palace, and there was nothing of interest in 45+3 minutes of mostly passing the ball backwards - yet people are happy to pay £££s for that …

  45. They could But they won’t, monmore will become available along with the fruit and veg market at the back and will be sold probably to the council to move their depot to, I agree with the rest of your post though but that’s a deeper issue that folk don’t want to talk about

  46. Norwich could tear up Carrow Rd and put a speedway track in it. You’d see more entertainment that way!

  47. And sadly that is true! With my Poole hat on Brennan is replaced by Lewi, Brennan is the much better rider, Ben Cook is replaced by Zach or Anders, Ben is a much better rider than those. Poole had to lose 7 points which I don't dispute that is the rules made by all clubs at the AGM. Admission will increase again in 2025 I'm sure for all clubs as costs have increased. But anyone that tells me the team coming to tapes in 2025 and the one that finished 2024 at Poole is a better product are living in a different universe. It is a weaker product on offer, I will still go but please don't tell me its the same or better as it isn't! Back to Glasgow if the team is as predicted, they will start as favourites for 2025. Entertaining team that will put a show on for the fans on a great race track. Good luck in 2025

  50. Just starting this thread as there is a lot of young talent around the British Youth Championship. I'm just curious as to who is old and good enough to progress onto the NDL/whatever the format will be next season. It sounds like there's going to be a lot of places up for grabs...? Oliver Bovingdon Ollie Binns Caydin Martin Harry Fletcher Lee Harrison Who else is likely to be considered by teams, are any of these riders even old enough? I know some of them are racing 500s at Scunthorpe Amateur meetings, but I believe the age limit for that is lower than the NDL? It's so hard to find any real info on the BYC which is sad... There used to be a proper website with profiles and everything.
