Spot on.... Especially following a team that has had regular success over the last few years... It could get "boring" being so successful.... And another potential impact to crowds is having so many high profile non Aces meetings chosen to be held there due to the entertainment level the track provides.. Meaning their fans forking out for so many major international and domestic meetings to attend... Plus of course being one of the very few top tier teams to run a development team season after season... Much better maybe to run just one team, using talent that has been developed elsewhere, and regularly coming close but ultimately failing to win the top prize, but bleating (every single season it appears), about being unlucky with injuries...?5 points

Fingers crossed Ben Cook isn't to badly injured. Regardless of opinion & form, nobody wants to see anyone out through injury đđ»5 points

If someone already has a CMA (over 6 meetings) then their average changes from the 1st of every month. It takes into account last years meetings also, and is based on the last 20 meetings raced. All of Lynnâs riders fulfil that criteria, so the averages will be be changed on 1st May up to and including meetings to the 21st April.3 points

How about we all turn the TV off after heat 20 and just keep our own scorecards? Whatever goes on after heat 20 is their own circus đ€3 points

Might have been fun butâŠ. 02.2.1 Announcer / PresenterTo provide spectators in a strictly impartial manner with information, ncluding Referee's racing decisions, instructions or statements, required to understand and enjoy a Meeting. Under no circumstances should they make comment that incites any section of the crowd, or on any matter that is sub-udice or gives the impression a protest has been/is being made against a Referees decision .3 points

Just a side note... the commentator on BSN last night stated that Bomber wouldn't have been able to be selected for a Super Heat if he'd taken 7 rides. It didn't sound right, I've checked the rules and the maximum 7 rides per rider applies to the 15 heats only.3 points

Of course it is a major sporting championship that is worth winning... A fact clearly proven last night by an Ipswich rider being the second highest scorer for Oxford...3 points

Excellent news that Tai is on the mend hopefully will fully recover to lead a long and healthy life ,with regards to speedway I think that a decision is some way down the road . Imo people either over- under estimate wealth ,speedway is in real terms expensive to participate in, even at the very top compared to the overall rewards .3 points

Yes we have really stole talent developed elsewhere like Danny King and Adam Ellis and have had no part to play in Dan T developing âŠ. Canât seem to remember any Ipswich fans bleating about injuries any seasons apart from the last one where to any knowledgeable speedway fan Ipswich would have been champions but thatâs speedway you get unlucky at times3 points

Win for KL but at what cost? Leszno are fighting to get back to the top flight of Polish Speedway and they'll be furious tonight to a point where they could flex their muscles.3 points

Ipswich v Sheffield final barring injuries Or if Belle Vue get 2 new reserves2 points

I donât know why Wright got so animated, but it created a good atmosphere for 10-15 minutes. Kevin Long was stoking it up and it gave the crowd the opportunity to boo a pantomime villain for a while. Good fun really.2 points

This fantasy speedway who and where is this 8 point assessed rider ? The team is what it is for this season . There might be changes if injuries force the situation and who knows Robert Lambert might fancy the last month of the season once Poland and the GPs have finished - but for now I honestly canât see any change in the team2 points
-
some people moan about lack of characters and confrontation compared to the 70s though so maybe we should embrace a bit of needle and hoo haa a little bit of jostling and finger wagging all adds to the atmosphere maybe it should be encouraged and riders not hammered for getting a bit wound up its a highly charged sport after all2 points

Sam's Grandad, Alf, rode for Leicester Hunters from 1957 until 1961. According to Alan Jones' book on the Leicester Hunters Era he was the anchorman between reserves and heat leaders. He rode for England five times during their winter tour of Australia in 1958/59.2 points

Lynn are never going to rip up the template after four league matches, nor are they going to dispense with Kvech in April. And personally I would only replace Cook if he was going to drop to reserve, and even then only temporarily. All very well saying '8 point and 5 point assessed' riders but who is realistically going to come over when they've got their season planned out and Poland had started.2 points
-
Good win for Lynn that was. 8 points down and home riders throwing points away whilst in good positions, they could have easily let their heads drop but they dug in and fought back well. Important result.2 points

Belle Vue is the track with the most home track advantage in the league âŠ. Riders set their bikes up to go quick and thatâs it doesnât take much skill to be able to do that Kurtz and Bewley are top riders wherever they ride but because of their home track advantage they are almost unbeatable at home Lidsey can only ride well at home and same with BlodornâŠ.. no other team in the league would take a chance on either of those because they canât ride anywhere else really ⊠you bang on about Lidsey but he isnât fit to lace Tom Brennanâs boots when you look at the overall package⊠give me a rider who can score anywhere rather than just be good at home You do have a good track but it doesnât need much skill to ride it and I prefer skillful riders rather than throttle jockeys Go watch Mark Loram v the Karlsson brothers on you tube and tell me that that isnât class skilful speedway2 points

Quite radically.... First against fourth and second against third this season... Controversial.... "There's nothing to see here, move along please".....2 points
-
That was my initial thought too.... I hope Ben isnt on one of those contracts that will cost him money if he gets injured riding in another league.....2 points
-
Someone needs to have a word with him. This is speedway and there is always going to be close or very close contact.Undoubtedly he can be fast, but he needs to be a couple of yards in front to get points. He spooked himself tonight when he nearly binned it (ht2) and basically stopped. Then when Lawson went by he was spooked again.I hope he can sort this side of him out because there is potential there for all to see.2 points
-
These big wins by Belle Vue are not doing the sport any favours at all⊠Iâm sure with more easy victories the fans will not go to watch and crowds will dwindle They didnât even need their number one rider ⊠they are not helping the league Belle Vue speedway is dying with results like this but when you can go out and spend money getting Kurtz Lidsey and Cook in over the years itâs just chequebook speedway2 points

Good win for Lynn, can't help but think they'll be buggered when Bomber moves up from reserve, can't see many of the others banging in the kind of performances that Bomber does around Lynn.2 points

Buster wouldnât get away with his delay tactics on his tractor to get bomber more time in Poland and he shouldnât be allowed to get away with it here, itâs the little things2 points

They did and were on the pace in all of there heats. Im glad the poster didnât follow us when we were dross nearly every season, donât think he/she wouldâve coped.2 points

Don't forget all those usual Ipswich injuries to all their seven riders might impact things.... As we know, the ONLY team ever to have been impacted by injuries in the history of the sport...1 point

The only issue is getting decent guests every time you need one. Might be better having Klindt down there which should be a guaranteed decent score from 6/7 rides every time and then mix and match R/R and guests for Cook as required.1 point

This is clearly a side that is not competitive in this league, particularly when compared with Belle Vue and Ipswich. If resources have been spread too thinly - and Oxford are the only disorganization three teams - then it would be better to concentrate on just two. Attendances will inevitably suffer with a very poor team. If the Spires go then perhaps we can look forward to a four team Premiership next year as I can't see Birmingham surviving after another poor season either. Whatever happens, I would hate to see the revival of speedway at Oxford put in jeopardy through running noncompetitive teams. I hope the management response to the early results is rapid enough to benefit the club! Oops forgot about Kings Lynn. Hope they have a good season.1 point

it was an odd match lynn really should have won at a canter but at the same time leicester ought to have taken advantage of the situation and will be kicking themselves for not doing so1 point

FWIW I thought Dave Watters got it right, but it was certainly one that could have gone either way. I was left pondering the possible significance of Ritchings' thumbs up as Rushen came round -- "I'm up and OK, don't worry" or a sarky "Well, thanks a lot for knocking me off". Or something else. Who knows?!1 point

Dan Gilkes imo, I hope he proves me wrong but I've not really seen anything from Sam Hagon, besides his U21 win, for me to rate him. He's got the name but the Hagon name is more famous for Speedway sponsorship than it is for Speedway pedigree, although Martin was quite decent on the Grass and Long tracks I believe.1 point

He is at home and he has proven he can beat anyone round the AFA. He should average around 8 at home and 6 away with an average of 7, which in my book is a strong third heat leader1 point

I hope that supporters wanting to use public transport to get to Perry Barr Stadium, will find this information useful: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All buses to the stadium from Birmingham City Centre start in ALBERT STREET which is a short walk from MOOR STREET rail station. From the station, cross the road and turn right. Albert Street is the third street down on the left, recognisable by the large carpark on the corner. Bus Number 33 (B'ham to Pheasey) stops outside the stadium entrance. and Bus number 51 (Not 51X) stops at the One Stop Shopping Precinct opposite the stadium. Both have a journey time of approximately 20 minutes. (bus number 51X passes the stadium but doesn't stop there!) Bus numbers 907 B'ham to Sutton-Coldfield), 934 (B'ham to Walsall via Pheasey) 935 B'ham to Walsall via Streetly), 936 (B'ham to Brownhills via Walsall Wood), 937 (B'ham to Brownhills via Boney Hay) and 997 (B'ham to Rushall via Aldridge) are all express services which each have only four stopping places before reaching the stadium, and all stop in Aldridge Road right outside the stadium. All of these routes run at ten minutes intervals and all have a journey time of approximately 8 minutes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trains leave Birmingham New Street on the hour and on the half hour and have a journey time of 12 minutes. Perry Barr Station is a 5 minute walk from the stadium. Return trains (after speedway meetings) leave Perry Barr Station at 21 and 33 minutes past the hour. The last train from Perry Barr to New Street leaves at 22.21. Trains from Walsall also call at Perry Barr at 12 and 42 minutes past the hour with a journey time of 15 minutes. The last Perry Barr to Walsall train is at 23.12. I hope that1 point

Probably not getting any takers because it's the wrong number plate Seriously, sort of, I'm reminded of the chap who puts a perfectly good fridge on his front lawn with a sign saying free to a good home. After a week he'd had no takers. A mate offered some advice and as a result he changed the sign to say ÂŁ50. The next morning the fridge had gone.1 point
