  1. Spot on.... Especially following a team that has had regular success over the last few years... It could get "boring" being so successful.... And another potential impact to crowds is having so many high profile non Aces meetings chosen to be held there due to the entertainment level the track provides.. Meaning their fans forking out for so many major international and domestic meetings to attend... Plus of course being one of the very few top tier teams to run a development team season after season... Much better maybe to run just one team, using talent that has been developed elsewhere, and regularly coming close but ultimately failing to win the top prize, but bleating (every single season it appears), about being unlucky with injuries...?

  2. Fingers crossed Ben Cook isn't to badly injured. Regardless of opinion & form, nobody wants to see anyone out through injury đŸ™đŸ»

  4. If someone already has a CMA (over 6 meetings) then their average changes from the 1st of every month. It takes into account last years meetings also, and is based on the last 20 meetings raced. All of Lynn’s riders fulfil that criteria, so the averages will be be changed on 1st May up to and including meetings to the 21st April.

  5. How about we all turn the TV off after heat 20 and just keep our own scorecards? Whatever goes on after heat 20 is their own circus đŸ€”

  7. Just a side note... the commentator on BSN last night stated that Bomber wouldn't have been able to be selected for a Super Heat if he'd taken 7 rides. It didn't sound right, I've checked the rules and the maximum 7 rides per rider applies to the 15 heats only.

  9. Of course it is a major sporting championship that is worth winning... A fact clearly proven last night by an Ipswich rider being the second highest scorer for Oxford...

  10. Excellent news that Tai is on the mend hopefully will fully recover to lead a long and healthy life ,with regards to speedway I think that a decision is some way down the road . Imo people either over- under estimate wealth ,speedway is in real terms expensive to participate in, even at the very top compared to the overall rewards .

  11. Yes we have really stole talent developed elsewhere like Danny King and Adam Ellis and have had no part to play in Dan T developing
. Can’t seem to remember any Ipswich fans bleating about injuries any seasons apart from the last one where to any knowledgeable speedway fan Ipswich would have been champions but that’s speedway you get unlucky at times

  12. Win for KL but at what cost? Leszno are fighting to get back to the top flight of Polish Speedway and they'll be furious tonight to a point where they could flex their muscles.

  13. Ipswich v Sheffield final barring injuries Or if Belle Vue get 2 new reserves

  14. I don’t know why Wright got so animated, but it created a good atmosphere for 10-15 minutes. Kevin Long was stoking it up and it gave the crowd the opportunity to boo a pantomime villain for a while. Good fun really.

  15. This fantasy speedway who and where is this 8 point assessed rider ? The team is what it is for this season . There might be changes if injuries force the situation and who knows Robert Lambert might fancy the last month of the season once Poland and the GPs have finished - but for now I honestly can’t see any change in the team

  16. some people moan about lack of characters and confrontation compared to the 70s though so maybe we should embrace a bit of needle and hoo haa a little bit of jostling and finger wagging all adds to the atmosphere maybe it should be encouraged and riders not hammered for getting a bit wound up its a highly charged sport after all

  17. Sam's Grandad, Alf, rode for Leicester Hunters from 1957 until 1961. According to Alan Jones' book on the Leicester Hunters Era he was the anchorman between reserves and heat leaders. He rode for England five times during their winter tour of Australia in 1958/59.

  18. Lynn are never going to rip up the template after four league matches, nor are they going to dispense with Kvech in April. And personally I would only replace Cook if he was going to drop to reserve, and even then only temporarily. All very well saying '8 point and 5 point assessed' riders but who is realistically going to come over when they've got their season planned out and Poland had started.
    2 points
  19. Good win for Lynn that was. 8 points down and home riders throwing points away whilst in good positions, they could have easily let their heads drop but they dug in and fought back well. Important result.

  22. Belle Vue is the track with the most home track advantage in the league
. Riders set their bikes up to go quick and that’s it doesn’t take much skill to be able to do that Kurtz and Bewley are top riders wherever they ride but because of their home track advantage they are almost unbeatable at home Lidsey can only ride well at home and same with Blodorn
.. no other team in the league would take a chance on either of those because they can’t ride anywhere else really
you bang on about Lidsey but he isn’t fit to lace Tom Brennan’s boots when you look at the overall package
give me a rider who can score anywhere rather than just be good at home You do have a good track but it doesn’t need much skill to ride it and I prefer skillful riders rather than throttle jockeys Go watch Mark Loram v the Karlsson brothers on you tube and tell me that that isn’t class skilful speedway

  23. Quite radically.... First against fourth and second against third this season... Controversial.... "There's nothing to see here, move along please".....

  24. That was my initial thought too.... I hope Ben isnt on one of those contracts that will cost him money if he gets injured riding in another league.....

  25. Someone needs to have a word with him. This is speedway and there is always going to be close or very close contact.Undoubtedly he can be fast, but he needs to be a couple of yards in front to get points. He spooked himself tonight when he nearly binned it (ht2) and basically stopped. Then when Lawson went by he was spooked again.I hope he can sort this side of him out because there is potential there for all to see.

  26. These big wins by Belle Vue are not doing the sport any favours at all
I’m sure with more easy victories the fans will not go to watch and crowds will dwindle They didn’t even need their number one rider
they are not helping the league Belle Vue speedway is dying with results like this but when you can go out and spend money getting Kurtz Lidsey and Cook in over the years it’s just chequebook speedway

  27. Good win for Lynn, can't help but think they'll be buggered when Bomber moves up from reserve, can't see many of the others banging in the kind of performances that Bomber does around Lynn.

  28. Buster wouldn’t get away with his delay tactics on his tractor to get bomber more time in Poland and he shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it here, it’s the little things

  29. They did and were on the pace in all of there heats. Im glad the poster didn’t follow us when we were dross nearly every season, don’t think he/she would’ve coped.

  33. Didn't Brady Kurtz miss out one year as well? And who can forget that season where their best rider, Max Fricke, had to be replaced by a rider with a lower average, (thus weakening the team strength)... Luckily for the Aces, that rider (who was unattached which brought credibility to the competition), managed to step up to the plate, and Max missing didn't impact them too much...

  39. Confirmed broken wrist for Ben Cook confirmed by Leszno https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/1183537/zuzel-pech-fogo-unii-leszno-jest-komunikat-ws-stanu-zdrowia-bena-cooka Translated by Google, Statement below "Ben Cook has a broken wrist after yesterday's accident in the English league. At the moment we cannot estimate how long the Australian will be out of action. The training staff may use the player's eligible replacement, decisions in this matter will be made immediately before the match in Krosno" - we read in the club's statement.

  40. Ellis did nothing wrong, just the usual angry handbags from Wright...

  41. See this is the problem when you spout biased blinkered drivel on here, sometimes the footage gets uploaded and you get caught out. Want to retract your biased lies Lucifer? Ellis never elbowed Wright or anyone else from the moment the tapes rose, to the second he crossed the finish line 🙄

  42. In a non televised meeting the ref obviously only gets one look at it. Not an easy job, and it can look different from different angles. I was an incident recorder for a while and I'd say refs get most right

  43. it was an odd match lynn really should have won at a canter but at the same time leicester ought to have taken advantage of the situation and will be kicking themselves for not doing so

  44. I have to agree. A very enjoyable watch. Cooper Rushen was very impressive, and I thought unlucky to be excluded in one heat - no or very minimal contact from my view point. Luke Harrison and Jody Scott also impressed. Birmingham should be aapplauded for running an NDT team, and then running an MDL match to follow. Great value for money in my book

  46. WOW, ''got out of jail free card'' with that performance, won on AGG, but only top 3 riders scoring points, we cant have that every home match,we will get stuffed against better teams (eg Poole).OK it was the first home match but we couldnt get out the gate, and possibly the Ref kept them waiting to long on Green Light. We have until June to get things sorted, by then we could be out of the KO CUP and BSN FINAL. If riders are not performing,we need to change the team, we cant have passengers, Take note LEON FLINT Also BOUGHEN ,PERRY and HODDER Need to up their game.

  47. Depends if the club wants to focus on development or winning. If it's development, put the strongest rider in the top 5, let him learn by racing tougher riders & allow the weaker 3.00 riders more races against the opposition reserves by riding at 6 & 7. If they want to win the league / trophy, put the strongest at reserve & give him extra rides.

  48. What a very strange & insensitive comment. Clearly, as stated, the family have decided to let Tai decide when & what details are released regarding the injuries and treatments he has had to endure. In the meantime, his wife & mum have taken the opportunity to sincerely offer heartfelt thanks & recognition to the folk who in the immediate aftermath of the incident made all the right calls to save Tai from an outcome far more final than from what you think are newsworthy injuries. Those of us who share concern over the health of one of speedways greatest riders have been please to read the message and will continue to abide by the request not to speculate any further in preference to waiting for further official updates to be released at a time whenTai and his family decide is appropriate.
