  2. Good interview with Criag Cook in this weeks Speedway star talking about his on and off track issues over the last few years and how he’s trying to find stability for both. Good open and honest interview from him which he didn’t have share with everyone but fair play to him for doing so.

  3. Get ready for a masterclass tomorrow. Ipswich fans will finally see Doyle and Emil involved in an actual race. It would be more entertaining if Emil and Doyle make the gate over MJJ, as vice versa would be a "follow the leader" race.

  7. I was a regular at Mildenhall in 2006 & 07 in the second tier and it's some of the best speedway I've ever seen.

  9. I'm not sure why BluPanther laughed at my Brexit comment. The reason why Visas are required is purely down to Brexit. Riders from EU countries used to be able to turn up and ride because they had a right to earn a living in a fellow EU member country. Now the UK treats them the same as riders from any other country, which means the appropriate Visa for their type of employment. It could be there's a long lead time for them to be approved, or it could be that Brum didn't apply in a timely manner.

  10. Props to Danyon for taking the booking. But BV, Lynn, Leicester ain't riding, and Zagar is 7.20.

  12. I watched Billy win his silver at the ‘83 world final. Egon’s win soon became inevitable but in an other universe Billy would have become a more than worthy world champ. Love this second half idea to commemorate his memory.

  13. Mind you if they did hold a major event at Foxhall, they could turn it into a weekend festival. Plenty of room for camping & the showground is just up the road.

  14. Couldn’t agree more with this. There is definitely a lack of variety on the Grand Prix scene. There should be a mix of tracks of all shapes and sizes to test the skill set of the riders. Similar to you and Lakeside, some of the best racing I’ve seen has been around Mildenhall believe it or not. Loram had some fantastic races around there.

  15. Today is the 40th anniversary of Billy’s passing and the club are marking the occasion with a special second half. a plaque and mural have been in Billy’s pit space ever since. Fondly remembered and never forgotten even when the compulsory pit hoarding covered the mural a replica one soon was on the pits wall. I remember going to foxhall 40 years ago and how surreal and sense of absolute shock at foxhall. I guess many fans will want to remember Billy and once again pay our respect The second half will be much more significant to many than the league meeting.

  16. Huge credit to all involved for honouring one of the finest ever riders in Ipswich colours. I had the privilege of watching him ride for the Brummies in 1979.A class act!!

  17. R and R Bookmakers the worlds top Speedway Bookmakers !!! are pleased to announce the 2025 Beat the Bookie competition. This is the 13th year of the competition(where has the time gone !!) and again there is a prize for the winner. For the 6th year the spread is now under the new scoring rules 1st 20 2nd 18 3rd 16 4th 14 5th 12 6th 11 7th 10 8th 9 9th 8 10th 7 11th 6 12th 5 13th 4 14th 3 15th 2 16th 1 Positions 1st to 4th in the Final Meeting Classification will be according to the result of the Final (Heat 23). Positions 5th to 10th in the Final Meeting Classification will be according to the results from the Semi Finals (Heat 21 & 22). The 2 Riders who finish 2nd in each of the Semi Finals will be 5th and 6th in the Final Meeting Classification, with the higher ranked rider from Intermediate Classification 5th and the lower ranked rider 6th The 2 riders who finish .3rd in each of the semi finals will be 7th and 8th in the final meeting classification, with the highest rider from the intermediate classification 7th and the lower ranked rider 8th. The 2 riders who finish 4th in each of the semi finals will be 9th and 10th in the final meeting classification, with the highest rider from the intermediate classification 9th and the lower ranked rider 10th. Positions 11th to 18th will be according to the Intermediate Classification after 20 heats. As i get older i am getting more confident that my spreads are top notch !! Therefore again in 2025 out have gone the gimmicks !!! The start amount is £600 - minimum bet per GP is £100 minimum bet per rider £50 The minimum bet doesn`t apply if total remaining is less than £100 - then all must be bet. THERE IS NO MAXIMUM BET IN 2025 Rules Each contestant MUST place bets in ALL the rounds -in the event of having no money left they are out of the competition All bets can be edited up to the advertised starting time of the meeting. If a rider is injured before a round starts then the bet is voided on that rider, or bets can be amended up to the meeting start time. If a rider starts a meeting but is injured and cannot continue THE BET STANDS but any points scored by the reserves count towards the injured riders score. If any rider is excluded for a starting offence the reserve points scored do not get added. To ensure fair play bets for the final round may be required to be PM`d to me instead of normal posting. If a meeting is called off at heat 16 then the spread will be adjusted to 4/5th`s of the original. If a meeting is called off at or after 20 heats the spreads stand. HOW TO PLAY One must bet on a rider to score MORE OR LESS than the spread-the HIGHER figure is taken for MORE bets and the LOWER for LESS bets-the mid between the two is what I expect them to score-and they add up to 146 which is the total points available in a GP Example Zmarzlik might have a spread of 15-17 for the 1st GP Player A might bet £100 HIGHER than 17) and he wins so would win (20-17)=3 X £100 = £300. If he finishes 4th he would lose (17-14)=3 X £100 = £300 Player B might bet £100 Lower than 15 and if he finished 8th(15-9 ) = 6X £100 would win £600. If he won the meeting he would lose(20-15) =5 X£100 = £500 A final message regarding the 2025 competition to you punters. M more value in 2025 U unique format from the no 1 Bookie G great prices S simply the best competition in world speedway I will post the opening spread for the Saturday 3rd May Landshut staged German GP on Monday 28th April

  19. Brexit has thrown up all sorts of problems. Adam travels on his French passport and was refused entry once as he’d passed the 90 days in 180 rule…… luckily he also had his uk passport with him too and was waved through after the original confusion.

  20. New Green Sheets come in to force on the 1st of each month, and include a maximum of the last 20 League matches, up to and including the 23rd of the previous month. Because they are Rolling Averages, the most recent scores replace the respective oldest scores, so the average will not necessarily rise or fall in direct relation to current form ... also, it doesn't matter if the scores are home or away, e.g. two recent home scores could replace two old away scores, or vice versa. From what I can see on the speedwaygb website, Cook drops to 5th in the KL averages, and Klindt will be at reserve ... separated by 0.005 !!

  21. Also very strange that Klindt had one on at press day which was the only time he’s worn one as has had his own suit on each time since. Maybe doesn’t plan on staying long till Poland comes a calling.

  22. Apparently Brum can have a guest up to 75% of Zagar's average, so they've got 5.40 available: Blödorn, Howarth, Kemp, or an RS, or someone from the Championship with a qualifying converted average - if any of them are interested and/or available. I'm guessing Hume will have asked for a guarantee, with a bonus if he stays on ... I mean, scores a point or two.

  23. He's fallen off for no reason a lot more times than he's beaten anyone of note.

  24. TBF Danyon knows his way around Foxhall and has scored double figures on occasions, taking some huge scalps along the way. He’s beaten a few top number one’s at Foxhall in recent years.

  30. One Aces fan retaliated to a sarcastic comment about the NSS track and mentioned it is one of the best tracks in the world. A common held belief in speedway circles. The Ipswich trolls descended . Sigh.

  32. Should be a comfortable Poole win but do expect the Plymouth reserves to make it a closer score line than others suggest. I’ll go 52-38. Zach and Anders too strong for their opposite numbers

  33. Track should be well watered after all the overnight rain, plus the chance of a light shower this afternoon. Should be a decent meeting and win for the Pirates.

  36. I suspect Doyle and Emil will get four rides apiece like they have in the previous two meetings. Only if the meeting result is in doubt will they get 15. Especially as they’ll each be getting another couple of rides more than likely, in the Billy Sanders Champion of the evening.

  37. The last update on the Save Peterborough Speedway Facebook page was this 20 hours ago. Election of Mayor for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Area 1 May 2025 The candidates are: Paul Bristow, The Conservative Party Candidate Ryan Coogan, Reform UK Lorna Dupre, Liberal Democrat Bob Ensch, Green Party candidate Anna Smith, Labour and Co-operative Party We sent the following email to all the candidates. We will publish the responses we received on Monday 28th April, it may help you decide who you wish to cast your vote for. Dear (Salutation) The sport of motorcycle Speedway has been established at the East of England Showground in Peterborough since 1970 and has competed at the highest level in the U.K. as a team (Peterborough Panthers) winning numerous trophies. Individually the club has been the home to several individual national and world champions. The team has been featured on worldwide live television broadcasts bringing the City of Peterborough to the living rooms of people from Europe, Australasia and the Americas. Peterborough City Council’s reaction to the possibility of development of the East of England Showground Speedway track has been inappropriate and inadequate. Will you please confirm that if elected you will: 1) Ensure that the new Local Plan protects and preserves the East of England Showground Speedway track. 2) Ensure that local and national policies for the protection of sporting facilities and the Speedway track are applied. 3) Ensure that Council Officers uphold and apply the law. Please do not hesitate to contact us if any questions arise. Thanking you in advance. Yours sincerely For and on behalf of: Forever Panthers Limited
