  1. So if we go to Armadale and beat the Monarchs in the league , do we get to keep them ? Asking for a friend

  2. It's never been a summer sport in Berwick. Winter-spring-autumn-winter, no summer up here

  3. What do you want them to say? 'We were rubbish, don't bother coming to any of our other meetings'? That's probably more accurate, but now how PR works.

  4. Despite some very attractive top riders now racing in Britain from the continent, I find the results of some matches very boring. we’ve got Sheffield, Ipswich Belle Vue and Leicester who will finish in the playoffs. Kings Lynn ,Oxford and Birmingham struggling against the top four receiving hammerings causing several boring matches when they meet, and don’t stand a chance to make the playoffs. Seems as though we only need the top four teams riding against one another so we witness close meetings. Such a boring top flight league.

  5. I think the decision to put Sedgmen in 15 can just about be justified by the fact he won heat 13 on what looked to be a different bike from his first 3, so the hope was he would pop out the start the same again. Going with Paco however was a terrible decision, assuming Polis didn't turn it down, while his time in heat 14 wasn't quick he is a good gater, all that being said I don't think anyone was beating Dan Thompson tonight it was a faultless display. Palovaara as others have said was underused should have been nailed on to replace Thomson in heat 9.

  7. Flint's ride in ht14 was brilliant. He was much faster than i've seen him round Armadale before. Harris's performance was as unusual as Sedgmen's - one to forget for both of them.

  8. Watching this takes me back to Friday night at eight at Hackney. Great to see racing and just a shame that those days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday racing have long gone. Thankfully the Polish scene fills the void.

  9. What a weird post Pretty obvious if a team loses its top 2 it will struggle lol Not one Ipswich fan has been arrogant and nobody was last year either …. Do you not think that barring injuries that we are favourites…. That’s not arrogance it’s factual You say Oxford and Birmingham will struggle but can’t acknowledge that Ipswich are favourites? There is a different between confidence and arrogance ….. I’m confident that we can win the league with this 7 riders …. Not arrogant to believe that others may improve or we get injuries

  11. Where on earth is the moderation on this forum? How is it if you say a naughty word you’re immediately banned for the foreseeable, and yet Troll’s who infest threads with the sole aim of getting under the skin of one fan base for reasons only he knows, can just carry on without any retribution whatsoever? You’d like to think his fellow Belle Vue fans would be embarrassed by his behaviour and call out his bullsh!T but no, in fact they back their man with laughing emojis and actually join in the trolling themselves! Yes, talking about you Mike!!

  13. Plain English but a lack of understanding of the qualifying criteria. Programmed rides only, Heat 15 did not count.

  14. The ol size 10’s being stuck in to Ipswich again from all angles I see. Think we know how this works from here this season. It’s pretty pathetic to be perfectly honest. Time to take a break from here I think. Crack on.

  15. King's Lynn, gaters?Their gating has been pretty awful in every match so far this season.

  16. That's all Ipswich supporters like, is there ever any decent racing there? How many awesome heats were there last night, that's what promoters should be aiming for! And bring back uprights, they're better to handle in all conditions! Racing needs to be better than it ever has, said that many times but nobody seems to care. It's not follow your leader races that fans want to see, Bomber knows it thank christ, Henka knew it, every track needs at least a natural racer who can't gate. That's how the know/learn to pass, use the whole track not follow each other on a one line boreathon! Chris Louis was known for his gating and riding the inside line, effective but boring, must be why the Ipswich fans don't care! Oh for Gollob, Rickardsson, Crump, Adams, Lee, Loram, Screeny, Dugard, Norris, Ward, Lambert, Parker etc etc etc. For many riders it's all gate, gate, gate, that won't keep the sport going!

  17. Which makes her perfectly qualified to comment as we walloped everybody at home for a large part of our second tier stint between 2003-2010. However I think it takes a lot longer than three meetings to get fed up with it and some Ipswich fans have of course experienced this before in 1998.

  18. Correct riders will ride where they want to & also where they are looked after. It’s not always about the have & have nots, Ipswich have enjoyed some of the best gates if not the best gates in UK speedway for a longtime. They have also always enjoyed good sponsorship backing from the local business community. It’s only the last 3 or 4 years that we have been competing. Trying to constantly weaken the product has gotten uk speedway to where it is today on the point of extinction.

  19. have to admit the 2nd half was a disappointment, no Emil / Jason or MJJ - well done Dan however!

  21. In the history of speedway, putting musielak as a tactical to replace voulas instead of MJJ instead of rew or Hulme in the next heat must be the stupidest team manager decision ever

  24. Not a two tier Premiership imo, It's just the lower end clubs have HL's who are underperforming at the moment, Things will be a lot more competitive once they finally get dialled in imo. Tungate and Janowski are struggling for the Spires. Musielak is struggling for the Brummies. Kvech is struggling for the Stars.

  27. Looking forward to seeing the mighty Bandits back in action after a tough home opener against the much vaunted Tiggers last Saturday. Very encouraged by the performance of the 1-7 last weekend, hopefully more track time has helped Mr Borke and that PK has a bit more luck this time around. Jye returning to Monarchs colours as a guest will certainly be one to watch and I for one hope all the Bandits faithful give him the ovation he deserves on his return to Costa del Berwick, a loyal servant and one that deserves a rousing return. Incase you didn’t know, the car park is free also.

  28. I can’t make this one tomorrow night due to having something already scheduled for this date before the fixtures were available, I have been unable to find a guest to take my place so the supporter replacement system will have to operate , meaning the fans who are there will have to shout a wee bit louder to make up for my absence

  29. Actually a very valid point from a business view. If whoever is signed is likely to 0-3 points a meeting is the logic that more local and hence less travel costs the most practical solution. Certainly Southern based alternatives like Springer, Vale or Scott would be more expensive (based purely on the number of home meetings). The other option would be to wait until Marson is released by Poole and sign him on.

  30. Emil turned down heat 15 coz he had bike issues earlier during the meeting.

  31. Should have been MJJ . Even if he was on 15m for every race he'd still win.

  32. Programmed rides only (i.e. four rides each), including bonus points. Not difficult. As explained by people who made the effort to find out, Doyle and Sayfutdinov were chosen for Heat 15. I don't know how Thompson gained the final place in the Sanders event, having been tied on Paid 9 with those two, but Sayfutdinov even turned down Heat 15, and maybe Doyle decided he was happy with just one more ride after his earlier fall.

  33. Great to see King have a go at team riding last night, when he left room for Thompson to get past on the outside - in an individual event 😁

  34. Tried twice to buy the stream yesterday but BSN wouldn’t accept my payment, bank said it’s nothing their end, BSN didn’t bother to reply to my enquiry so I guess they don’t want my money. Disappointed to read that even riders like Tobias were not up to much, he is normally excellent value on these small tracks. I think Ipswich could be on course for one of the best seasons ever seen in the top flight, competing with the Oxfords and Cradleys of the 80s

  35. I'm not to sure about that . We have scored 66 points from our 2 away league meeting so far. 4 heat wins in 30 heats.. Lawson 2, Harris 1, Cook 1, are our heat winners. Kvech has had two 2nd's , two 3rd's and 4 lasts, in his 8 heats. Klindt has scored 6 points in 7 rides on the road. I know it's only 2 meetings, but it's not been a good start away from the AFA.

  36. To be fair Chris Louis was an above average trapper who more often than not made the gate although he did mix it on the first bends, his trapping was much better than his passing whilst Loram was the opposite. Trees is spot on with regards to a lot of riders who don’t make a decent effort in trying to pass the opposition if they miss the gate and unfortunately most of the tracks don’t make it easy for racers to show off their passing skills. If we’re being totally honest neither Saddlebow or Foxhall are particularly good overtaking tracks although I acknowledge that steps have been taken to improve Foxhall.

  37. Because of the guys battling mentality, can you see Doyley not getting mixed up in a big accident?? Seems to find him almost every year. Ipswich lose Emil or Jason, it could end their season quick sharp. Apart from Oxford & Birmingham, absolutely nobody else can be written off for the title just yet. Let's not forget, we had this same exact arrogance from Ipswich last season, how did that go??
    1 point
  38. It will happen …. Leicester or Sheffield in my opinion or maybe Kings Lynn … nobody can be as bad as Belle Vue
    1 point
  39. Yes Jason has no allegiance hence he is desperate for the title for the witches … he had a nasty crash early on and yet still rode on and did heat 15….. it you had half a brain you would see that only one of Dan T , Emil or Doyle could have done the match races and you would expect Doyle after his crash to ride in 2 more races ??? Do us all a favour and just eff off the forum your are a braindead troll…. You have no speedway knowledge and post to incite Good to see Ipswich getting a bigger crowd against Birmingham than Belle Vue do against anyone … and Birmingham missing a heat leader actually providing a better resistance than a Belle Vue side who have riders that can’t ride anywhere apart from the NSS…. So glad we are so rich

  40. To those people on here saying they expected Doyle and Emil to ride in the Billy Sanders they actually didn’t qualify … it was based on the programmed rides including bonus points King Ellis and Brennan got 10 and then Dan T and Emil 9 and Doyle 8 What was worse was Birminghams top 3 scorers all didn’t bother to ride On to the meeting and what on earth is up with gate 4? Whoever was on it was a bike length behind every race going into turn 1 Jepsen Jensen was solid and best visiting rider to Foxhall so far this season Jeppesen got stuck in but the rest were woeful very disappointed in Rew especially where he almost fenced Hume just to get a point Musielek looked a shadow of the rider he was but fair play coming out for the match races when the others in his team didn’t bother … you think Rew being an Aussie and former witch might have done it

  41. I felt the gate was lower than normal tonight as well, sadly with no Peterborough the best 'local matches' are Leicester and Kings Lynn.

  42. Gate 4 was a huge handicap in 13, and he was unlucky with the kerb crawling.

  43. The criticism of BSN is very harsh. This fixture on paper is a close match. The problem is that Muslieak and Zagar are both effectively missing.

  46. Can’t believe the amount of negativity on here from so called speedway fans. They have worked for 8 years to get to this point, there is no prospect of the land being developed, they already have the investors and therefore the funds needed to make the stadium usable again, they have a promoter, already licensed and with his own funds in Matt Ford. The council also support it, this is about speedway being a part of the official plan for Coventry for the coming years. All future developments have to go on this plan, speedway or otherwise, the restoration of Brandon Stadium gets in this list then it’s much more duty bound to happen. Sony forget it is not just about speedway, stock cars are also invested in this too, and other community uses. Just write a quick letter supporting it and leave the rest to those who know what they’re doing.
