In most cases like this it is perceived to be an admission of guilt in some people’s eyes. Personally I cannot see Nick returning that ship has sailed and probably for the best.

Even if the new signing decides he is Australian & not British, Edinburgh are still doing more for British riders development than any club who didn't enter the NL/NT. Plus last year they held a NDL series individual when they didn't have to.

The question should be asked why do we persist on fixtures every year on GP quali day in Germany.

A sensible choice... These riders never know from one year to the next what team changes will come in over here, and take them out of a job... Always best to look after No1... And, let's be honest, he isn't missing much is he? Edit: Apart from obviously having the chance to have a good laugh and a joke in the pits with Ryan, Sam and Max...

Another great Sunday evening meeting from Poland.. I almost feel some sympathy for the UK promoters having to follow on, on a Monday... Great stadia, big enthusiastic crowds, a sizeable away following, truly top level riders in almost every heat. (With all belng contracted to both teams on show), and professional looking managers and mechanics dressed in club merchandise... With most races contested by at least two riders, with the third often not too far behind given at lesst three riders in most races are of a "very good level".. Add in a very good junior and it can be all four in contention to possibly still change their individual positions as they enter bend three, lap four in lots of races... A lot of boxes ticked for the viewers, fans in the stadium, sponsors and advertisers.. Not quite the same amount of boxes ticked too often, sadly, on a Monday evening on TNT..

Funny.... where did you hear Rushen was a done deal? A few murmurs at Leicester tonight that he's quite keen on one of your main rivals.

None of the GP's this season have, they've all been garbage. Hopefully this weekend will put that right.

I think the problem for Sheffield is that they are not firing themselves to the front.

Another terrible advert for the sport, tv is certainly doing speedway no favours if the powers that be think this type of exposure will see gates increase, sadly the sport has had its day in the UK.

But there isn't more than 7 world class riders in the series this year is there? Politics stopped two of the best being entered or even giving them a chance to qualify. People need to realise SGP isn't the best of the best, its about trying to accommodate and be inclusive of all riders for various nationalities to make it appealing to BS countries who don't have the calibre of riders to warrant being in the SGP. I pay money to 'try' and watch the best beat the best. SGP isn't that... Poland's club meetings have better races than the Grand Prix so that tells you everything you need to know about the Grand Prix. It's basically a European tour of Speedway with a few of the best riders in the world.

Whoever finishes 8th in the GPs is going to be an incredibly good rider, just because someone doesn't finish in the top 7, doesn't mean they shouldn't bother entering. There are more than 7 world class riders in the series, so there will always be brilliant riders who don't finish in the seeded spot for 2026 and that's before you even consider injuries. Why is trying to get another way in unfair? If GP riders & non GP riders enter the qualifiers to ensure the best make next year's series, what's unfair about that? If non GP riders can't get into the GPs because they lose to GP riders in the qualifiers, then that means they're not good enough for the gaps right? For clubs like Sheffield who want to sign international superstars, it comes with the knowledge they may miss meetings when racing elsewhere, not great for fans of British Speedway, but that's just the way it is now.

Speedway is very much a working class sport. But not nearly as much as banger racing as there tend to be several people with teeth.

If you knew the amount of British youngsters that were contacted and rejected the spot then you might have a different opinion. Only reason Jordy is over for half a season instead of waiting till next season is because he become pretty much the only option.

True fans do not boo,support all riders through good and bad times.

I think pretty much all the supporters think the same but unfortunately the GP circus charge so much for tracks to put these meetings on with the tracks generally just getting tickets sales and catering etc so most insist on at least one home rider to try and attract home crowds. Quite why we have the joke of our current GP points allocation is even harder to explain, consensus seems to be the GP circus is very close to collapse or major change, cannot imagine why as let’s be fair the racing is absolutely fantastic at every track and all have very even gate stats. 😉

Irrelevant for speedway. However they can be uncomfortable - with speedway it's really important you can move your body about easily, this was one of the attractions with modern suits over leather because protection wise I don't think they're as good. Adults make choices with risk, that's life.

His average changes to 20.13 next week. Seems like he has been scoring 20 points most weeks.

Ridiculous that Riss and Mulford are missing this match,to ride in Germany on Monday!!I stopped going to speedway last year after 50 years,came back this year,tried to give it another shot, what’s the point? No meetings for 2/3 weeks, then when there is half the team missing.The sport is a joke.

The sport is serious decline in UK.Dont know the answer though.Strange decisions seem to being made in the eyes of many supporters,but at the end of the day the Promotions are the ones with the money invested.Sporadic fixture list will kill off the sport.

A working class family can get a lot of entertainment these days for £60, a nice meal out, some drinks, followed by cinema, in the warm and not going home covered in dust. It's okay having kids interval runabout races and kids for a quid etc but when they hit 16/17 there's a 2,300% price increase... and they're lost unless they've got a really really good job at that age or parents prepared to pay for them.

It is and will always be a working class sport but unfortunately those running the sport or taking part in it think it’s something else and the public are not buying into it

Speedway always has been and remains a rare sport indeed. And I'm not referring to the racing spectacular that we all appreciate. I refer to the "family" nature of the sport. I'm sure there are other sports that have a similar look and feel on the terraces, or wherever you spectate. But we should cherish that friendly environment and me taking my boy with me is but an extension of that. Lenny will leave you alone and won't disturb your enjoyment, so why shouldn't I take him with me? He doesn't like being ignored because he's a very friendly chap. But feel free to take no notice of his presence. For my part, if the promotion permit me take him with me, i will continue to do so. Not to spite anyone, but because I enjoy his company.
