  1. Fully agree here, I subscribe to the full BSN package and would much rather watch Championship Speedway as opposed to the Premiership. The Championship has much more variety and the league seems more competitive. Maybe we've got to the point where we say goodbye to the GP riders and have one league next season with one home and one away. Championship standard but much more variety with Glasgow v Belle Vue, Sheffield v Edinburgh, Poole v Ipswich etc etc.

  2. The league / play-off scenario makes it easy for clubs not to care. In this case Belle Vue will have less points money to pay out, one less travel expense to pay out, doesn't hurt their home crowd & even a 70-20 tanking wouldn't hurt their title chances in the slightest. Get rid of the play-offs & clubs would care more!

  3. Didn't hear him complaining at the weekend. Track is not over watered at all, there's dust in the air! The Belle Vue throttle jockey's are just pish poor

  4. Along the lines of track prep being crap, no need for so much water. Rather a bit of dust where you can still race instead of flooding it to try and keep the dust down. Resulting in crap racing, crowds going down and tracks shutting in the process, used Birmingham as an example. He’s right in everything he said.

  5. Best line that I've ever read on here! Don't forget those sewn on badges 'Happiness is 40-38' ! Your profile has brought that one to mind? 😀 Have to say, the most adrenalin rush that I get from going to PB atm, is how many cans of Thatchers Gold I can smuggle in (with pockets bulging...) past the so called 'security' guys.... Trouble is....its that quiet....you even have to be mindful that you don't wake someone up when you open the can!

  6. Why not wait and see what happens tomorrow before slagging the fella off like you've done throughout tonight. Tbh, as an Aces fan I'm happy for him to do what he thinks is right for his own body, also for his own personal quest for the World Championship. He owes Belle Vue nothing, having delivered on plenty of occasions when it really mattered and he was physically able to do so. You worry about your own team and leave us to our own, all sorted.

  7. I get what you’re saying. But don’t forget if they don’t ride they don’t earn money. 3 points in Poland is worth 15 in England. Jason got injured last year and has his Polish contract ripped up and had legal battles as they wanted the upfront money paid back. Poland is a different proposition altogether than here. Tv money and sponsors are massive , they have to look after that and keep fans attending, hence the reason they pay well and unfortunately what they say goes. To any rider wether we like it or not they will always try to accommodate Poland and if they are a GP rider protect their standing. Like you say it’s on its arse here. I agree with MikeBV the bspa missed a massive trick after covid. But make no mistake just like the riders the bspa only look out for their interests.

  8. Lol typical Belle Vue fan still sour grapes about then never beating us in play offs

  9. These lads race over here because it is much less pressured and they can earn a decent few quid most nights, riding against lesser opponents... No full on, 20,000 fans in the stadium, demanding success... No chairman paying them hundreds of thousands demanding success, with clear consequence if they fail.. No national media showing your work and publicising your performances, with a magazine programme put together specifically to do just that.. Why bother with league racing at all? Over here? A good question, as it certainly hasn't been working for a couple of decades at least has it?

  10. The issue is he rode his final 2 rides proving his fitness to finish 2nd in the GP, then gave his club "commitment" a swerve thus mugging British Speedway off... again

  11. In which case why bother with league racing at all? Why doesn't he quit BV and go for personal glory if its more important to him. Be honest.

  12. Belle Vue throttle jockeys struggling again on a track that needs some sophisticated use of the bike I like Dan Bewley… when I spoke to him at Ipswich I said to him that he hates our track and he actually said he enjoys the place and that each track provides a different challenge which was refreshing to hear Trouble is Belle Vue have riders like Blodorn and Lidsey who can’t put in a performance away from home unless it’s Sheffield … Belle Vue can’t win the league this season with the team flaky on away tracks and the worst reserves in the league I can’t believe any serious Belle Vue fan can defend Kurtz … he has previous and now he is a GP rider he will do this more often ….. I wouldn’t bet Bewley would do it

  13. Looks like Belle Vue are Birmingham in disguise

  14. It does for me... I'm expected to pay the same price this week and the opposing team are turning up without their top rider who wasn't injured enough to even pull out of the meeting he sustained the injury in. This coming the match after Sheffield turned up without their number 1 rider because he decided to go to a qualifier for a competition he currently already qualifies for next year!

  15. I’m not a Belle Vue or Leicester fan. Digging out Kurtz when you clearly saw the crash that caused his injury is very petty. First and foremost every riders dream is to be world champion. That would be his number 1 priority given the situation he finds himself in. So if there is a chance he can ride Saturday then he will naturally do it. Every day with an injury of any kind is different, I know this from my profession. We all know the setbacks and risks on a rehab journey. You have to prioritise the risk aversion. And that includes every time there is a meeting no matter what the team or country. I cannot imagine Brady or any other rider being too happy about missing any meeting despite what people think. It’s why they’ve chosen to dedicate their lives from an early age to pursue their dreams. As fans of course it’s disappointing but riders missing has happened since league racing started. And yes there are dodgy decisions. But you cannot simply say he is being disloyal by prioritising his injury for the best possible outcome for him.

  16. Personally I feel really let down by him last season. Rider of the year and led us to another league title, but we didn't win the KOC. For that I'll never forgive him.

  19. I'm sure Jody will be a bit disappointed with a single point but it must be noted that after the reserves race his opponents were Palovaara, Thomson, Castagna and Sedgemen. Understandably Killeen got the easier rides so perhaps it's not surpring that he didn't score after heat 2.

  20. Bank holiday Monday witches vs Lynn was best atmosphere I’ve heard when we finally got the win and everyone actually got up and cheered. To me, sport is at its finest when you have emotion and your team and your fans are as one. You’ll never get it, but the fans at Portman rd singing their heart out, all you need is 50 of them to give something different. I’m going to Gorzow vs Wroclaw after the SGP as I’m in Poland to see family, I can’t wait to hear the singing and the scarfs flying. It makes me feel invested in the meeting.

  25. I need to ask. Do Belle Vue fans actually think they are nailed on for play offs? Because watching tonight and also kings Lynn new found form I think you need to be slightly worried you’ll be finishing the league commitments early and only watching your beloved bewley and Kurtz on TV in the SGPs!

  27. Kurtz got injured. Come back and then bailed again. Doyle got injured. Come back. And then rode for Ipswich after. Notice any difference in the above statements? He didn’t do the same did he.

  28. Not at all... BV will still be around next year... (Probably)... In fact.... I would suggest Birmingham are the new Wolves....

  29. Won it or given it on a plate? I think if Kurtz and bewley got injured like Emil and Doyle Belle Vue would come bottom of the league. They look woeful this season away from home too. At this point if Kurtz rides for Belle Vue this season he will be classed as a guest

  30. just remind me who won the league last year, and who was it against.?
    2 points
  31. Can't have a "good" meeting if one side is very poor. It was the same against Sheffield last week. Bewley is likely sore that he's carrying the side because Kurtz isn't here.

  32. If only the Aces could put some effort in, like Zach Cook did there and Bewley to pass JT earlier... or how about they try making a start 🤔 😜😂

  33. If he'd won heat 1 he'd have said sod all. We all know it.

  34. I don't think that's a rules just something clubs put in their contracts. What would happen if a top rider put his foot down & didn't agree with having to pay back his signing on fee? Zmarzlik for example, you can't tell me if Lublin weren't gonna sign him in his terms that there wouldn't be another 7 Extraliga clubs after his signature. But no rider ever stands up to the Polish clubs tbh

  35. He doesn't have to get covered in dust for over 20 quid a pop though.

  36. 2025: Kurtz crashes in Manchester SGP He injuries his old injury from one week before. He continue in the meeting and comes second like a true determined rider would. Kurtz pulls out of Belle Vue’s next meeting. He obviously isn’t that same breed you speak of.

  37. We're not talking about race night clashes though... we're talking about Brady "sick note" Kurtz picking and choosing his meetings... again

  40. If he rides in SGP that’s for sure pick and choose. Bet he rides for Wroclaw at the weekend and shows the commitment for British speedway everyone seems too by not showing up and prioritising.

  42. Can you tell me if Brady Kurtz is captaining Belle Vue at Leicester tonight please? 😁

  43. Sport is nothing without emotion... even I was chanting "Bewleh! Bewleh!" at the weekend and this NEVER happens 😂

  44. Boils my pish this does... although having said that, the rider interaction during the meetings on Fri/Sat was woeful, with barely any rider coming around for applause until their final outing... which equally boils my pish. I know it's a serious event and all that, but we need to see these riders and connect with them... as I've mentioned before about Zmarzlik.

  45. Yes and Kurtz got up and rode two more heats. So he wasn’t unfit to ride was he. He might end up turning into a B.Cook if he pick and chooses what race to turn up to but always appears at the SGP. This is the problem with British speedway, no loyalty for the clubs. People can say “he needs to prioritise his SGP for his success and future” well do it then. And hopefully get dropped by the whole reason you’re even in the SGP…because clubs actually gave you a chance to learn your trade… so pay them back in loyalty!

  47. A lot of people have a BSN season pass, so will now watch it at home getting there moneysworth rather than attend the meeting. Probably be a different audience for the live stream.

  48. Would have left him in 4 just to get his rides out early doors. So that would have left Kvech in ht 6.At the end of the day he should have only got 3 rides once we had the chance of a ts imo.

  49. One thing I absolutely despise but is an absolute must for the promotion of any event is free tickets to social media influencers, I know half of the crowd on here being of a certain age have just googled what they are, they really are lazy narcissistic layabouts but the fact is the youth of today buy into their whatever it is that they do, for the price of a ticket you get publicity you can’t get anywhere else, I know other sports and events use it to great success, the kids see the hero 😂 at these events and want to go because if it’s good enough for their hero it’s good enough for them and they want to be like them, as I’ve said I despise these waste of life muppets, I know they are a product of today’s society but they do have one good purpose and we like other events need to use them
