Fans complain when riders seem to choose to give meetings a miss over here, however.. Promoters, actually plan meetings in knowing that sometimes exactly the same riders will be elsewhere on that night... The message they give therefore, is that it is obviously acceptable to UK Speedway for you to miss meetings and your presence isn't fundamentally important... Which also then, obviously gives the events themselves the same lack of fundamental importance in the opinions of so many... You cannot blame riders for deciding to stay aligned to their biggest paymaster when the UK version of the sport is ran the way it is...3 points

He did. What actually happened was: tried his 2nd engine at Glasgow which had been good previously, but after first heat it wasn't good, so swapped to 2nd bike with his usual Workington engine. After his 3rd ride that engine blew up immediately after the race snapping its camchain. Back onto first bike for heat 13 with some big changes and managed to get a win whilst feeling slow. For Workington, now only had one bike so borrowed an engine from Jacob Hook ( as his workshop is in Workington) that was "strong" so that he had 2 bikes (the alternative was a 20 hr round trip to home to collect a spare engine, but only had 19 hrs before the next meeting). Tried Hooky's engine in the first 2 heats but struggled to get out of the starts with it ( heavier flywheels than normal may have been the difference? but jumped back onto the underperforming engine again for the last 2 rides and made some radical changes again and managed to win heat 13 again with a massive cutback off the first turn and a defensive ride. Was out after the meeting on that same underperforming engine trying some other radical changes to see if they helped it to perform better. So a frustrating weekend some high points, some low points and no doubt a big bill to come too. Hope that explains what happened2 points

If i were a Lions fan i think i would be on the side of continuing with r/r as it has worked so well.2 points

I'm not so forgiving, he was well enough to take 6 rides in his first meeting back, it's just the same as the rest, this is the new normal now, when riders came back from injury before, they came back everywhere, not just Poland... I'm idioting sick of it!2 points

he baffles me you could write a book about his mistakes he should have used Kurtz last week in heat 5 as a tac sub for Lidsey's R/R because Kurtz couldn't take a R/R ride !!1 point
-
So the referee gets punished for ignoring the major health and safety issues, but Poole and the start marshal gets away with it. !!! With both teams at wimbored road this week how about the last heat from the other week is nulled and void, then re-run it as a 1st heat on Wednesday to get a fair result ??1 point

It's very fortunate for Leicester, that Becker can use his Polish club as a way to make his return to riding, and they will also take responsibility for any additional rehabilitation needs arising therefrom. Leicester therefore have protection from any adverse consequences, whilst this remains the case. Back in days of yore, it would be a run-out in the second half of a meeting, and if he could complete 4 laps, back in the team, often with bad consequences1 point

Jack Holder didn't get a ban when he missed a match due to a family illness. Seems like if his wife or kids had to go to hospital no ban, but if a rider was unwell & had to go to hospital gets a 7 day suspension. Doesn't make sense.1 point

A later bulletin also said Poole to be suspended for 2 weeks and Oxford awarded the pts...................ill get my coat.1 point

Everything that is wrong with this forum is on this thread. Plymouth win and beat a very good Poole side and all people can do is moan about the number one not being there or something else. you could argue that Lewis Kerr could have easily got up off the track when Plymouth on a 5-1, could argue then in the reruns that cairns didnāt allow any room for Spencer. Nicholls was on a 5-1 and bike gave up, Bowtell was trying just a bit to hard was on a 5-1 and slide off in heat 8. Lawson was his usual great self around the arena and set the track record in heat 1 apart from that it was pretty much nothingness from the rest of the pirates. To be fair i thought Tobias tried hard but the rest were poor which is unlike them normally but seems the norm of late, they will need to improve lots to win the play offs. I donāt think they can make any changes but it wouldnāt surprise me if they did. Plymouth are currently on a roll and the feel good factor around the place is evident with the crowd that are coming and the buzz that is on social media on Facebook etc. Think people just like sniping at Plymouth for the sake off it and it seems to have the opposite effect on what these people want.1 point
