Nagel already posting stuff on his social media about tonight’s Danish final, absolutely nothing wrong with the boy. Not a peep about Glasgow on his page, guy couldn’t be less arsed about us if he tried. Undoubted talent on a bike but if the boy doesn’t want to be here then get him to f*ck5 points

https://ipswichwitches.co/tigers-academy-open-at-foxhall/ Well done Chris Louis. Sadly I can’t make it, but I hope plenty get out there and support the youngsters. It would be great for them to race in front of a decent crowd.4 points

Silly how anyone thinks losing Lawson for Jeppesen isn't a disadvantage. Lawson especially the second half of the season has been different class for Poole and the top rider in the league. Regardless of a previous score at Glasgow (how often do away riders match successive scores at tracks), losing the leagues number 1 to be replaced by Berwicks third heatleader is a disadvantage. Would Lawson of scored more than 9 from 5? Almost certainly. Still a great effort from Jeppesen and will be in demand next season. Was hoping Glasgow went through to be honest, can't stand Poole these days with knobends like Shovlar spouting nonsense all the time. Only have to read the absolute crap he comes out with about football to know he is clueless. Clubs also need to seriously be punished for signing part time riders now as well. Nagel, Klindt and Knudsen in particular have all taken the absolute p""s this season and if the clubs know about these clashes before signing then they should be fined. Considering how little meetings there are these days , its a joke that riders are turning up for only 50 percent of meetings.4 points

Must not be fuel checks at Poole tonight. Which begs the question why are these checks not kept secret and who and why was Lawson informed they were happening at Glasgow3 points

Hopefully someone can be found to buy the club- last thing thr sport needs is another well established clubs lost like so many others- although I'm sure there's a good amount of Ipswich fans that'd be glad to see us go under...3 points

Good to that Nagel has made a really fast recovery to be able to ride in Denmark tonight.3 points

I think that’s very likely, but if it’s the case let’s hope he leaves with a winners medal for his efforts over here the last three years! He’s been an absolute privilege to watch and although he’s struggled this year by his high standards, he’s still flown in and out on a regular basis and been committed to the cause. He missed the tail end of last year after his horrible injury at Sheffield and although he returned for the last couple of meetings in Poland but not here, he wasn’t fit and his absence was understandable. He’s missing Thursday also, but people are forgetting it’s a rearranged fixture that wasn’t in his calendar, and being close to his meeting for Torun and with nothing riding on the rearranged fixture on Thursday, you can somewhat understand his absence there too. In three seasons, that’s literally all he’s missed. Considering how clubs here have been messed around by foreign riders especially the top ones over the years, Emil has been fully committed here so although it’ll be sad not to see him return, he should leave with our thanks and best wishes. (and hopefully a winners medal). Bewley will be a fine replacement. 😉3 points

both riders signed a contract to represent the club in every match, be it important or not,3 points

It’s not until you get to this stage of the season that you realise how much of a Mickey Mouse sport speedway is. Just a case of attending for what it is and forgetting the circus of never having a full team.3 points

Thanks for the kind review, shame you didn't get to see Nagel, Glasgow fans generally give credit where it is due, have a safe journey home, we may meet again in the playoffs, if not, enjoy the rest of your season.3 points

I would first like to say how welcoming the Glasgow fans are and despite being knocked out of the Cup how gracious they were in defeat as they shared handshakes. The Glasgow fans are a credit to the sport. But hey never write the Pirates ☠️ off and I hope Richard and Lewis aren't out for long wishing them a speedy recovery. Well done to the boys and thanks to Jonas for stepping into some big boots. I'm gonna enjoy my celebration flat white ☕ this morning @Neila 😀3 points

First of all thank you to those who allowed the stream to happen. Thought the production was top draw and although I do take it for granted I really shouldn't. Begrudgingly well done to Poole. You deserved it over the two legs. Without the best rider in the league and Kerr after his first ride. Glasgow were very strong at 3 and 4. Howarth battled away but didnt make a start all match. I dont like the Glasgow Nagel situation and it may well cost them as a result, as good as he is and he is very good. Congratulations to Poole! The better team over thirty races.3 points

All those people who think they know how to run and promote a speedway club better than anybody else in the sport have now got the opportunity. Sad times. Fingers crossed a new owner can be found.2 points

Hats off to Poole, no silly semi final/final races, that's how it's done. Congrats to Anders Rowe...2 points

Lawson avoided the fuel checks last night. why anyone would tip off riders that there will be checks I never know. Ridiculous also you talk some crap about Emil,2 points

The original fixture was 28th August. It was rained off. The rearranged match the following week was rained off. When do you suggest they should have held it ? Should they have looked at a long range forecast in June and pulled it forward ? Blaming Sheffield for the weather is laughable.2 points

Comparing Emil pulling a fast one as the the same as Kurtz is laughable Brady turned up in an all or nothing match for his team and didn’t bother trying Emil not turning up for a match that means nothing to Ipswich is not even comparable We all know Emil has priorities elsewhere coming up and I doubt he is ill…. If he did this in the final I would be annoyed like Kurtz did2 points

With. The only known cure, I believe, is riding in a Polish Top Tier Final 2nd Leg....2 points

Sheffield will be definitely up to win this... They would much prefer to race against the Aces in the Semi, rather than Leicester I would think... Basically, it could be "winner takes all" given the Aces are easily the worst team out of the four left.. I would imagine it will be a huge crowd in attendance, given so much is riding on it... Let's hope no injuries (or maybe sudden illnesses) results in any guests...2 points

It’s not a like-for-like replacement; it’s deeper than that. We took a risk when building this team and while it may still work, it’s cost us several times this season. We’re top heavy and that isn’t Max Perry or Freddy Hodder’s fault, but unless our top five are firing on all cylinders- which hasn’t happened on several occasions - then there’s more pressure on those two teenagers to deliver, especially the one riding at number six. Perry and Hodder have had a tough gig this season, but they should be proud. Next season, keep Hodder and compliment him with a stronger reserve.2 points
-
Sorry don't want to reign on your parade. He beat the reserves and Palm Toff. Not exactly a sixteen year old Michale Lee, Mark Loram or Joe Screen is is it? Is that how far the standard of British speedway has fallen, that you rave about a sixteen year ole beating another two young riders with averages less than 3. Yet one of them managed to beat him twice!!2 points

Nagel is having a tremendous season for someone so young and is so exciting to watch. His high scoring makes his absence, or having an off form rider, more noticeable in close matches as our track is so popular with the visitors - who've by and large kept most meetings close. Unfortunately 😜 There's no disrespect intended to Max or Freddy, who have provided vital points that have sealed wins for us over the year. Both have been trying very hard with scant reward some nights. I'd expect one or both to be an option again next year for us. Think they've both learned a lot and I think they'll push on next season if they both stay. But Nagel is in demand, he's been involved in individual and national honours (as well as various team ones) which he'll potentially be swayed by. Ideally we see him back on Friday and our season lasts a bit longer. Thoroughly enjoyed our racing this season whatever happens, but would absolutely love us winning the league title if we can get the results needed. Should fear no-one with our full side.2 points

Not sure why you keep banging on about this because you’re comparing apples with oranges! If Kurtz couldn’t be @rsed in a completely meaningless fixture like the Sheffield Ipswich one on Thursday, then nobody would have batted an eyelid. But it wasn’t a meaningless fixture he couldn’t be @rsed in was it? It was his team’s play off semi final!2 points

It’s more about having your full 1-7 at the part of the season that matters most out with injuries which we haven’t had. But your attempt at sarcasm has been noted.2 points

no emil due to stomach problem 😂 assume the witches fans will be apologising to brady kurtz for all the aggro they gave him, cos i bet they defend this2 points

The sport in Britain is in a real mess. Whatever happens will be unpopular in some quarters. What needs to be done is what is in the best interests of the longevity and improvement of the sport here. As a fan all I want is to see close, competitive racing without too many delays between heats. I believe that is all most Speedway fans ultimately want too. We fell in love with the sport for the bikes on the track, not the convoluted rule book that comes with it. That’s the part that has turned a lot of fans off over the years.2 points
-
Yes and no. Injuries have always been part of speedway and unless we move to a squad system (obviously unsustainable financially) then guests and r/r will always be there. What should be addressed is promotions building teams with riders that routinely aren’t available due to commitments elsewhere.2 points

That blokes a joke. Fancy building a team with two weak reserves from the beginning. Edinburgh is coming Friday and they will lose but win on aggregate and Glasgow end up with sweet nothing.2 points

Call me an old cynic but "exciting new era" sounds very much like a "5 year plan" to me and look what happened to the last "new era" that WBD brought us! I do hope I'm wrong but there has been no change in the personnel in charge and they've proven themselves over the years to be devoid of any ideas to revive the sport.2 points

Ace rode brilliant on the night and has ben the last few weeks. To get his confidence back up to the level it is has been very much a work in progress type of situation. Its still on going but we are certainly getting there. Jody had passed Nagel in Heat 6 on the line and then been all over the back of Dan Thompson in heat 9. I did deliberate over the change in heat 12 but decided in my mind that Jody was very capable of beating Perry or Hodder and deserved another go at Thompson. I agree Ace deserved more rides but I didn't feel anyone warranted being taken out of a ride. Tate led heat 14 with Ace until a mistake out of bend 4 saw him nearly run into the back of Ace and ultimately cost him 3rd place when Hodder past him. If that hadn't happened Im pretty sure they would have gotten the 3-3 that looked on the cards. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and afterwards its easy to say I should have done this or should have done that, however its a big balancing act about juggling with riders confidence while getting what I feel is the best results for the team. Hope that answers your questions Gav2 points

Of course it’s meaningless, how can anyone say Thursdays Meeting isn’t meaningless with a straight face! It would have had something riding on it (semi final opponents) had the fixture been fulfilled pre-cut off, but unfortunately it was postponed and the fixture has to be fulfilled. Reading the previews for this meeting, it comes across as a meeting that nobody particularly wants. Whatever your definition of “meaningless” is, is irrelevant anyway to the point being made which was comparing an absence to a fixture with absolutely nothing riding on it, to an important club fixture where a place in a grand final is at stake.1 point
-
Exactly, injuries are part of the sport but riders being signed knowing the will miss a load of fixtures and getting decent guests(in some cases) is making a mockery of the sport, which is already in serious decline in GB.1 point

Exactly, every track has there great meetings and boring meetings. Unfortunately BV fans are customed to a big race track where Kurtz and Bewley riding the boards to go past people they see as enjoyment instead of a track where you need more track craft1 point

Unbelievable from Jeppesen. Meetings over, aggregate is won and it’s not even his team, but he’s throwing himself into corners; literally risking his well being for the Pirates. Meanwhile MPT looked like Cruz Harris.1 point

If i want to go to a meeting I go to the venue. What about those that are unable to attend a meeting for family or medical reasons? Nobody is asking you to spend any money on a "cheap and nasty production". I'm not aware that there are any available, anyway. You sound like a very bitter person who doesn't really like Speedway at all. But sensible people regard BSN as a superb service, which provides people with the opportunity to watch the sport they love.1 point
