Surprised at Hawkins going for Doyle over Brennan in 15. Tom took a while to get his set up right but once he did, he was absolutely rapid in his final two rides.7 points

I thought Jason Edwards was excellent last night - really proved he is one of the best RS' available. I reckon the Ippo promotion need to send some flowers or champers to the person at Birmingham who decided to tell the BSP office that Sammy Hagon was a permanent replacement for Jason rather than an injury replacement!!6 points

Is it to much to ask of the expert commentator to actually know what the rules are regarding awarding races?6 points

In fairness to Joe, it is like a decent Amateur Non League Football player being asked to play in the Premier League against some of the best in the world... Riders of Joe's level (and there are quite a few), shouldn't be riding in the top tier... Does nothing for the spectacle or the fans, and even less for them...4 points

The leading riders were on lap three when the race was stopped with a considerable gap between the two Leicester riders and the remaining Ipswich rider. In awarding the race the referee concluded that the third placed rider had little or no chance of catching & passing the either of the Lions riders ahead of him. In making such decisions the referee does not take consider hypothetical scenarios such as the remaining riders could fall or suffer engine failure. It was the correct decision and a shame the commentators fail to understand that it’s not when a rider falls but the position of the leading rider that determines the state of the race.4 points

Or simply beaten by a better side? Ipswich have a stronger team than Leicester, it’s pretty simple really.4 points

Smacks of being an attention seeking thing, wants to be a hero, look at me back from a coma to race again blah blah blah. Rather he was just remembered for being a great Champion of his time and concentrated on enjoying life with his young family.3 points

Rew will be back at Foxhall next year, so it's an obvious guest choice...3 points

They’re split second decisions though for a rider. He had his wheels in line and opened the throttle and was making a pass. Stick or twist? Keep it pinned and make a pass in a grand final, or shut off and lose the opportunity. To be fair track was a little tricky early doors, quite deep and heavy. Had that been later in the meeting when it dried and slickened off a bit more, he could have made that move stick. Certainly don’t blame the boy for giving it a go.3 points

I don't think we choked this time, more like Ipswich have the strongest team in the league!3 points

Two or three races involving TomB and Emil were top entertainment!3 points

Fair play to Will for trying to stay upright after Danny King clearly knocked him off. Correct decision to exclude King.3 points

Thought there was some decent racing at times 🤷🏼♂️ ok wasn’t a thriller, but there was some good races in there. Wasn’t as good as the Sheffield meeting in the semi, but thought it was better than both semi’s at Foxhall and the NSS. Fingers crossed Adam isn’t too beat up. Been in the wars a bit.3 points

Ipswich 1/14 Leicester 8/1. Might chuck down 20 notes on Leicester at those prices! Hedge my bets so at least I’m compensated if we balls it up on Thursday 😁2 points
-
It was nice to see us win at Leicester with 6 riders 👏🏻 stops that argument about Sheffield finishing top and thinking they are the best side! They couldn’t beat Leicester with their 7 riders so no chance they are the best team in the league after last night 🏆 All you heard all season when Witches were top is that “wait until the play offs” from other teams… well we waited and only Leicester and Ipswich made it! Best two teams in the league then or still up for debate? 😉 If we lose it I’ll be disappointed but I do like Leicester, their fans, and their team / manager. Let’s just make Thursday an amazing atmosphere from both fans and good luck 🤞🏻2 points

There was a lot of faulty air horns last night 😂😂2 points

Think Parr said they had a replacement for Riss but deal fell through or could have been the cut off date, but something stopped it happening.2 points

That was a pretty good meeting, the Leicester track provides good opportunity for racing and of course the tension was visible. I expected Brennan in heat 15.2 points

Really? They won by 8 at your place earlier on in the season! In fact they were beating just about everybody until they lost Doyle and Thompson in the space of a few days which punctured the Ipswich tyres. Neither Doyle nor Thompson have actually been the same since those injuries either. Thompson was going like a train and riding like a seasoned heat leader until he broke his wrist. Hasn’t hit those heights since and neither has Doyle. That could have provided an opportunity for others, but the strength of the side means they still looks like comfortably coming out on top.2 points

Ha, only due to the nothing meeting after the cut off🤣2 points

Well it is on a cheap android so only one step up from a spud Then taken in a pitch black room from about 5 metres away off a 100 inch screen with pictures via a projected mirrored to WiFi connected signal Finally it needed to be zoomed and cropped to meet forum limitations All in all I'm happy with the results2 points

I’m saying nothing until after Thursday 😁2 points

Woffinden will do about three GPs. He'll be stone last in the standings and then will jack it in citing his injures from the season before. Picking him has really turned the sport into a complete mockery. It's either backhanders or some proper delusional people picking the wildcards. btw who does the picking?2 points

Woffy is a ridiculous selection.Friends in the right places.Suppose he is handy as the resident DJ.Absolute Joke.2 points

Yeah, definitely not to the promoters and FIM who decided them, or him but just everyone else 😁1 point

One thing you can never accuse Tai of is being shy about publicity for himself, and him being back in the GP a year after almost losing his life will undoubtedly generate headlines (at least in the short run). Id wager that more non speedway fans have heard about him than they have of Zmarzlik. On recent form? He should not be near the GP. No title or even gp win since 2018, and his last three attempts have seen him finish 8th, 11th and 18th. Plus he won't have ridden competitively for the best part of 18 months by the time the 2026 season gets underway. Worth remembering 20 years ago, Tony Rickardsson had a completely unsatisfactory end to a successful world championship career as well If he proves us wrong and has a strong season, with a top 6 finish and one or two wins, brilliant. But the odds are heavily stacked against him.1 point

Happy with Rew! Feels like it is still the witches team, I really like Rew and would love to see him help us lift a title after nearly doing so for us previously… this guest feels like we’ve just got our sub from the bench, rather than a guess.1 point

To me, this is why I love Ipswich. He didn’t get the chance to win it with us before, but he gets a second chance! So glad they asked him over anyone else, I personally would love to see him back in Witches colours long term! Get well soon Adam!1 point

If he rides like he did at times for Birmingham it might not be!!1 point

They don't like each other had few bust ups when riding together at Belle Vue.1 point

Too right there. Mine only came to life after heat 151 point

OK,so Woffinden being picked is surprising to some but at least it fits the definition of wildcard, rather than just the next three after the top 7.1 point

You shouldn’t dismiss riders who are still teenagers (how do you encourage youth?) but there has to come a point when you say a rider has had enough racing experience to conclude that further improvement is unlikely.1 point

April Fools Day has been cancelled next year, because no amount of pranks can match the unbelievable stupidity of the FIM right now...1 point

Unfortunately that is it until 2026. Thanks to all the riders, clubs, officials, broadcasters, forum members, particularly Racers & Royals and Stewmac and all in involved in the Polish league racing, it has been great watching all the meetings here in the UK and hopefully many will get the opportunity to turn up at tracks in Poland next year to experience all that is great about the sport of Speedway.1 point

heres a weird one, the clubs provide and maintain standard bikes, riders just turn up and ride them. they then control the costs of maintain equipment and riders get paid a lot less.1 point

The whole sport is based on what individual promoters want to do... They even pick their divisions to race in, even if clearly too strong, or nowhere near strong enough, for that particular league.. For a pro sport, there are simply too many people who see it as an expensive hobby, rather than a business, so therefore, because they spend so much for hardly any material financial reward, or even local public awareness of any "success" they may get, they make up rules to circumnavigate what a "normal proper pro sport" would allow, thus driving a coach and horses through the sports credibility... It is quite a ludicrous situation that people willing to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds then devalue the very competitions they want to win, however, you, can see why they want to win them, regardless of their stature, when they spend hundreds of thousands of pounds!! I cannot think of another pro team sport in the UK with such a small following, small financial reward, a lack of sponsors from "outside" the sport, and such a small amount of public recognition, both locally and nationally.. (And definitely no other team sport has such an incredible operating model)... It is truly ironic that the very people who "save the sport" by spending so much, (who all love speedway and are well meaning), are the very people that prevent growth, and higher finanical rewards for success, due to the way they run things... When all are focused in what is good for UK Speedway, and not necessarily what is ideal for themselves, the sport may have a chance of moving forwards... Seven figure costs are met by the promoters each season as a collective, on riders alone, so surely now is the time to get that huge, (and for such a small sport a truly incredible outlay), to work for the sports' growth?1 point
