It's interesting that those who run Speedway as a "stand alone" business seem to do quite well each season... Generally much better than those who run it as an expensive hobby, or get it subsidised by stock cars... Maybe when it is your day to day income stream it focuses the mind more? A few more like Chris Louis and the sport would be in much better shape...

Poole fans talk absolute tripe It’s not about who finished where in the league it’s how teams get on against each other Ipswich struggle against Kings Lynn at Foxhall because their riders go well there and in comparison Belle Vue who are a better side than Lynn according to league position can’t ride Foxhall for toffee and get thumped there Poole have won at Glasgow and only lost by 8 as well this season At Poole , Glasgow have lost by 14 and 24 Poole should win comfortably over 2 legs final league position has nothing to do with it , its about how certain teams go at certain tracks

Speaking as a neutral with a somewhat 'helicopter view' of the sport (tho I cheered out loud when Dan won SGP rounds & GB won the SONs), I'm pleased for Chris Louis & all at Ipswich. They obv did a lot of promotion down Foxhall way going by the huge crowd, hearing rock music played on the PA (did anyone else notice Rock & Roll All Nite by Kiss ?)+ the flame pots on the centre green, the meeting looked an occasion where one would say "I wish I'da bin there". That's how it's done, good stuff....

I find it hilarious that TW is described by us as some sort PR wonder-boy that has 'media cut through'. He is the guy that Philip Lanning can write a couple of ludicrous word-soup articles about in The Sun each year. Just like he once did with Gary Havelock; and now (apparently) Harry Rednapp. None of it has cut-through. And there is not one single extra bum on any seat; anywhere.

They had better get the track sorted so you can pass on the outside then.... Dan will end up paying to get back in on some nights.... It would be a good move for him though, as it would definitely sharpen up his gating as you cannot be fourth into turn one at Foxhall and keep expecting to win like he does at the NSS... And he also can sometimes get passed on the inside at GP level, given he tends to ride mid track and wider, especially on the tighter tracks, so having to ride the white line more at Foxhall will also help his overall riding level grow...

17 race retirements this season, 12 for Leicester (more than everybody else that rode for Leicester combined) and 5 for Berwick. Based on 4 programmed rides that's 3 complete meetings he just couldn't be bothered to finish. If you've not fallen off and your bike is still under any kind of power there is no excuse for not finishing races.

A brilliant meeting and some good hard racing, Vinnie was hard done by to loose a chain while leading the last heat, could have won outright, will cairns missed the gate so did not get into the run off. While the run off itself was hard fought, well done all riders you were a credit to the sport. Cooper Rushden looks a fantastic prospect at 15 years old

Dan screaming to Jack Holder, "With all due respect Jack, I hope we have a really good meeting and some great races against each other, and may the best man win'.. Well, maybe not the last one... Etc. Etc. Etc.

Hopefully, if Dan Bewley does ride for Ipswich next year, he'll have learned to spell it correctly.😃

Such a nice lad is Dan. One of speedway’s real good guys. Never met anyone with a bad word to say about him.

Have only missed 1 fixture this season at Workington and that was the pairs as it was my m8s wedding who goes to the speedway with me occasionally and I live 70 miles away.

Chris Louis was one of those. He admitted he had opportunities to leave Ipswich back in the day and should have moved to a bigger track for the benefit of his career. He just couldn’t bring himself to leave his hometown club that he loved.

I disagree its nonsense hence the best riders in the world ride Poland. Bewley has areas to improve none of them are to do with riding tiny tracks. Unless Ipswich are going to get a GP, which they won't.

Think Loftus is one to watch for the future.Has come on a lot in 1/2 a season

Some of them might be there Badge? We’ve got the Junior meeting next week and I know Louis wanted some of the senior Witches from this year to be there to help the youngsters with advice etc. I know what you mean though, collectively as an Ipswich team.

Or Foxhole 🙄 we haven't had that lately 😜 Anyway the dust has settled, I've finally managed to watch a recording, thanks to YouTube and rifling data from hubby's phone due to Internet failure from Thursday afternoon until this lunchtime so thanks city fibre and EE 🤡, it's hit me now that this Thursday in the pits, the magnificent 7 ( well 9) won't be there, that's it😲 What a fabulous team we've had the privilege to watch and support.

They’d be neither “tapping up” or “poaching” Dan Bewley. Dan Bewley is not currently Belle Vue’s rider. He’s a free agent and can negotiate with whomever he likes, and Chris Louis can do likewise. Mark Lemon can enter negotiations with Tom Brennan if he wishes, or Jason Doyle, or any 2025 Ipswich witches rider come to that. He’d be doing absolutely nothing wrong. No tapping up or poaching needed.

Not so sure on that tbh, A lot of compliments for a track that he's rarely done well on imo. Seems to me like Dan is basically letting the management know that he's keen on riding for Ipswich. If the team building rules stay the same and if it's 2 leagues in 2026 then Doyle is on a average under 8.00 so Ipswich will have room for a rider on Bewley's average if Emil does depart. That's a lot of if's though.

Don't go all Cami on us. A bit of booing is good for the sport.

Booze and tobacco companies sponsored many sports back in the day. The modern equivalent is now betting companies who appeal to a very wide demographic of customer and actually advertise their sporting markets with some very good visual & creative commercials that creates a wide awareness of the sport across multiple media channels The “Bet 365 SuperLeague of Speedway” maybe? or slogans like Paddy Power is Speedway Power

Drew Kemp is an absolute waste of space. He has history of packing up at the back all the time and throwing his toys out of the pram. i remember there was some knob on here before who boasted about how much money he invested in Kemp. Where is he now to defend such pathetic behaviour? The sport is full of young lads thinking they are the dogs bollocks with their big vans etc but make wallys of themselves on live tv with such weak mentality. he comes across as dull as ditch water in interviews as well. fans pay their money to watch 15 heats of 4 riders trying their best and when you see repeat offenders like him taking the p""s then it needs calling out.

Yes a much bigger farce then Kvech or Kai…. Tai was so bad in 2024 he wasn’t offered a wild card for 2025…… he then has an horrific accident which thankfully he recovered from but doesn’t ride all season …. To now be deemed to be a better rider than he was in 2024 is farcical …. For what it’s worth I don’t believe Kvech or especially Kai should be back in the series in 2026 but I would have had both of them ahead of Woffinden …along with all the reserves and Michelsen Also for what it’s worth I agree with you on all the other points though lol

Couldn't agree more. It was unbelievable how he found himself in those situations, and how badly it turned out for him. I can certainly understand him "playing it safe", but in a sport like speedway, that can actually make things worse. After the last one. I just pray that it wasn't one too many...

I will be there travelling across the A69 and hopefully my m8 from the teddy bears will be coming along as well with me.

The Dan Thompson +1 vs Kemp is down to 4/5 now. Outscored him on both Ipswich visits to Leicester this season, Kemp probably riding better now and will have 5 rides but still you'd fancy Thompson who could end up with a couple of extra himself.
