Would just like to say that the 3rd person that is mentioned took themself to hospital after the meeting. All ok and released soon after. New trousers required, for the rips off the wheel, not what you’re all thinking 😂. Would also like to say a big thank you to Jo(Redcar) and a young lady from Glasgow for attending to the unfortunate gentleman who got hurt. They both gave excellent attention until the paramedics got there & helping the paramedics also. Also well done to all Redcar staff for clearing the area, cordoning off & generally doing what was required. Certainly shook me up seeing it happen, 🤞all is good for everyone.

Crazy isn't it that all these repeat fixtures happen at the end of the season, BSN should have been done and dusted at the end of spring, the KO Cup mid Summer and Pay Offs now.

You have to fancy the Pirates, I’m afraid. Not only have they wiped the floor with us twice already at Wimborne Road, but they’ve found some excellent form in recent weeks. Dreading the first leg. I know winning is the priority, but the racing at Wimborne Road is absolutely terrible. It’s boring; it doesn’t deserve to host a final and it’s a terrible, terrible advert for the sport. The sad thing is, one of the best meetings I’ve ever saw was at Wimborne Road in 2004. Creating a gate-and-go arena has been intentional. Success at the expense of entertainment.

The notion Ipswich aren’t a family club is just flagrant trolling - fwiw belle vue are a similarly run club imo showing loyalty over countless years. Really can’t understand your constant derisive rhetoric towards the witches. Now being run by a second generation of the Louis family, both of whom were succesful riders and promoters over many decades. Captained by a rider who first rode for us as a 16 year old 21 years ago. Managed by a former captain of many years. Led from the front by world class riders in Emil and Doyle - Doyley being quoted as saying he’d happily see out his British career at the club. Ellis a returning rider who first rode at reserve as a teenager, Dan Thompson career revived when at a crossroads being dumped by Leicester, rew returning to help us win the trophy with Hawkins describing him in the meeting preview as “his first choice as soon as Adam was out, he’s our rider” Ipswich our as much a family as any club Now more than ever the speedway community needs to pull together and cohesively push towards a sustainable future for British speedway where we’re retaining clubs and even hopefully seeing past clubs re open or even new ventures come to fruition like Workington have in the last couple of years. I took my aged 9 t shirt with me Thursday as a good luck charm, signed by all 6 riders of the 98 team of 27 years ago on the track in the wild celebrations that night we won it all, it was a great talking piece with other fans around me reminiscing of that night sharing stories and remembering dad having to hoist me up over the fence so Tony rickardsson could reach to sign it for me! It’s certainly felt like a family club to me over the 36 years I’ve been going and others far longer, I’m a third generation fan with my grandfather even helping dig it out when it was originally built.

First of all glad to hear that any injuries to the fans were minor. Like the Edinburgh incident when Craig Cooks? flying bike struck a photographer, it seems the fans got off likely. Secondly such a shame the meeting was decided in such a way. With it all square with one to go, the round was on a knife edge and either team could have gone through. Glasgow must feel hard done by, Redcar relieved. Neither club deserved to be knocked out in such a manner. But the rules are in place for such a scenario and were implemented. Congrats to Redcar, commiserations to Glasgow.

Great news that nobody is seriously injured. I hope they're all back at a track very soon. Equally good news for BSN subscribers, feels like it's ages since Redcar v Poole has been on.

Yes, basically to show them how to run an unviable business, how to not promote said sport and basically carry on running the sport into the ground, then to tell them any new ideas are not welcome, when the new promoter will realise it's a load of cobblers and walk away in much the same way most new promoters have done for the last 20 or so seasons, if anyone knows any different then please come on here and tell all.

Because 2 4-2's are 2 heat advantages, and a 5-1 and a 3-3 is one heat advantage.

Whatever Workington race in next season I will support which choice they make even if it is the National league.

So not sure where this opinion is coming from? Actually having the first legs at home has worked out pretty good so far wouldn't you say?

There was no easy way to decide this apart from a replay and there isn't time for that now . But they way they have decided it is probably fair enough , good luck to Redcar in the final and I'm glad everyone injured are now back home .

As a result, three supporters required attention from the on-site medical team, with two taken to James Cook University Hospital for precautionary checks. We are pleased to confirm that both were discharged later that evening, and all three supporters are now safely at home with no serious injuries. Redcar Speedway would like to extend our sincere thanks to the attending medical personnel from Medics UK and our dedicated volunteer staff for their prompt and professional response to the situation”

Don't see why they would do that considering it has gone past H10 and there are rules in place for tied aggregate scores when meetings are abandoned.

The scores over the 2 legs were of ‘equal value’ so they use heat advantages… are you thick ?

Two teams have a tug of war OR - team captains arm wrestle (would have said wrestle, but seen Charles in action give Redcar huge advantage 😆) and would have said TMs, but that give Glasgow big advantage (IMO)

Speedways in 90% of cases (tracks) is loss making but the same can be said for all football clubs in the UK. I think a report the other year stated that the average losses for Championship (2nd Division) football clubs was a 6 figure fee a WEEK! Norwich City who average 26,000 crowds lost £25M last season while Ipswich Town who average just under 30,000 crowds lost £38M! Rebuilding Coventry speedway stadium will happen if the owners sell up or decide to lease it out. Investors are in place but I suspect it will take a compulsory purchase order from authorities to make this happen. The plans for a new Wimbledon speedway track are I believe on an existing motorsports facility and persons with the available finances are involved. Can it happen? - Long shot but got a chance for sure with the before mentioned necessary finances and the aim to build it bit by bit starting at grassroots level which I believe is the best way for new tracks to reopen. Buxton speedway site still exists in situ, is only grass roots so doesn't need the usual huge cash influx to reopen and anyhow persons with finance are behind Laurence Rogers reopening plans. - Decent chance of coming back although I'd prefer they are called their traditional Hitmen nickname! Northampton has interested parties I believe and this is going to be a hard sell I suspect at a venue that hasn't ever staged senior level speedway, last had junior League/ training level speedway in the late 60's and is a few miles out of Northampton. - Maybe would be better suited to 3rd Division, training track level? As for Swindon speedways future, I'm sceptical given Clark Osbornes history and get the impression the new track plans are just a staged farce to ensure the old Blunsdon stadium which currently has protection gets demolished for housing. I assume the local Council are aware of all this and won't allow Blunsdon to be demolished until the proposed new site has been running League speedway for at least a season. - While Blunsdons car park has been built on and houses surround it, alternative parking for fans if it reopened is available at Businesses nearby so I still feel that this venue is the best place to reopen Swindon speedway AND greyhounds which both have been well supported in the Town. - I get the impression negative poster R87 knows more about Clark Osbourne that most I suspect?! I agree that speedway in the UK is on the wane and has been since the mid 70's but it is certainly not down and out. The sport like the allegedly mass money making football has always required rich enthusiasts/ investors to prop it up and will do so for as long as it continues.

There were no him and cradley though ,he had his issues with the 3 because in his eyes they were creaming money off the cradley name but even if that was the case and I didn’t see it that way that’s no reason to carry that on with the heathens next generation, or Workington or anywhere else he choose to pick on

Can't really trust the clubs to get all the fixtures on to allow re-stagings tbh. The fact 3 finals are having to be raced in October despite clubs having fewer fixtures these days, shows that. In an ideal world I'd agree with you. My plan would be to never let it go to a ballot (thankfully this didn't) by adding more ways to decide a tie.

And it also means fans having to pay out a fair few quid in the same month... Workington suffered from this when they won the treble, with fans not attending each meeting... Having all the finals at the end of the season also gives no time to build crowd momentum on the back of any success, as the season just stops... Advertising yourself as (insert Competition name here), "Champions/Holders" can only spark interest locally in your next home meeting, and onwards through the rest of the season, I would have thought... I think completing the league first then the cups is the way to go, as advertising your self as "The Champions" for as many meetings as possible can only help crowd levels... And it also gives clubs well out of league contention early in the season a chance to still have meaningful matches until the end of the season, rather than "dead rubbers" which have no impact on play off positions...

Lets hope this LATEST disappointment spurs the Tigers on to win the League.But think Poole will have a ''Rain-off'' on Wednesday, giving them the Second Leg !!!!!

If the Tigers needed any additional motivation towards winning the Championship, they surely got it with the news that Redcar will complete in the BSN final. That aside, the welcome news on the casualties and the excellent response of the Bears and Tigers supporters and staff must be applauded.

Fair is fair. Frustrating, but the rulebook is in place to accommodate these scenarios. The award was made in the boardroom, but the tie was lost on the track. Another trophy gone.

FOLLOWING the abandonment of the Redcar v Glasgow BSN Series semi-final 2nd leg on Sunday October 12 prior to Heat 15, with the scores all level on aggregate but being unable to decide a winner of the tie on track, the Speedway Control Bureau have made the following statement. There is no alternative with the scores level on aggregate at the time of the BSN Series semi-final being abandoned, and the result of the tie will have to be decided by SCB Regulation 012.1.26 Abandonment, which states: "The team who scored the most heat advantages (5-0, 5-1, 4-2, 3-2, 3-0 in no particular order) over the two legs will be awarded the aggregate win." Over the two legs the heat advantages were as follows - • Redcar scored 8 x 4-2s (4 in the 1st leg, and four in the 2nd leg) • Glasgow scored 1 x 5-1 and 6 x 4-2s (a 5-1 and 3 x 4-2s in the 1st leg, and 3 x 4-2s in the 2nd leg) Therefore over the two legs, Redcar had one extra heat advantage and will qualify for the 2025 BSN Series Final. The SCB wishes all the people involved in the incident at Redcar during Heat 14 a speedy recovery.

Probably because it would be the right thing to do for both clubs. Anyway good news in that there appears to be no serious injury .

The air fence isn’t that’s for sure. I know it’d be a fair few thousand to bring that up to the FIM standard.

Capacity would likely be the issue for a SGP (I'm not sure what it stands at the moment) but the track itself is fantastic and regularly produces high quality racing. For that reason alone I hope its awarded some more SGP Challenge qualifiers/final, it deserves it.

The same 3 clubs have 3 competitions to finish, Redcar & Poole in all of them. Couldn't really hold off any longer, matches need to be raced. If they had finished the KOC & BSN especially earlier in this season, then maybe they could've planned around the Prem final?

Ipswich don’t need to poach riders …. Riders want to come to us because of how the club is run Now run along and see if your club decide to sign riders who can ride away from home …. Maybe someone like a Tom Brennan??

You clearly have a complex over Poland having the best league but don’t know why you are saying I want British speedway to fall? I’m British so how does that make sense? And also why is it Polands job to promote world speedway 😂 never seen the Premier League promote La Liga or any other foreign league so why is speedway different? Get your own house in order before looking elsewhere. Why didn’t all the other teams in the British Premiership (speedway) write on their social media about Ipswich Witches vs Leicester and promote it? Ohhhh yeah, because it doesn’t benefit them, Poland has no gain from waxing lyrical about British Speedway. Stop blaming another country and look at your home town and why people don’t turn up. If you are calling me and @arnieg clowns because British speedway is failing then I’d say you must must be the ring master of the circus 😂 no info, no idea, just a keyboard in front of you and a box of tissues to cry into by the sounds of it. By the way, Ipswich got about 6,000 fans in the final and 4,000 for the derby day against Kings Lynn, because some clubs can’t promote, or their town/city aren’t bothered about speedway don’t say everyone is failing, Ipswich are quite the success story over the last 3 years, and that’s because they took a gamble with Emil and Doyle and then built from that. PS. Even if Poland did win SoN they still wouldn’t be bothered!

17 race retirements this season, 12 for Leicester (more than everybody else that rode for Leicester combined) and 5 for Berwick. Based on 4 programmed rides that's 3 complete meetings he just couldn't be bothered to finish. If you've not fallen off and your bike is still under any kind of power there is no excuse for not finishing races.

That’s a bit unfair, no matter what you think about Tatum he has served his time as a class speedway rider and just for that he deserves the fruits that the sport can offer him

Peterborough has a large Polish population and Mick Bratley went to the city Polish club and gave away free tickets for Panthers at the Showground. He reported that one person took up the offer, so good luck with that?
