  1. Cooper 'rested' according to the Poole v Oxford thread, I'd suggest if they'd not already won the tie at Cowley (and he wasn't riding Prague on Friday) then he'd be riding. Today has been very different to the forecast in Norfolk, which highlights the danger of postponing the day before.

  3. There are no mods, other than @Phil who only ever seems to check in once in a while to see if there are any problems.

  4. the issue is that actually useful threads with some decent information are just getting filled up with absolute drivel. I would agree with MD in that it puts me off coming onto the forum, and clearly not the only one. Ive just got all the accounts on ignore now but the more people reply and the more accounts they create i still continue to see absolute rubbish.

  6. Really it’s a compete joke and a farce Harris been given an opportunity while you’ve got Dan Thomson and Tom Brennan as meeting reserves. Two guys who should really be in the meeting. Harris just as bad accepting the gift.

  7. There are many reasons but for me, it's the constant search for speed, more speed, even greater speed than the last. Speedway globally should go for an engine reset & go down the standardised 'sealed units' route. Get rid of expensive 3rd party parts tuners.

  8. I think the guy is a bit of a nutcase, anyone who feels the need to reply to his own posts by using a different forum name must have "a screw loose" in my opinion

  9. Update on former Berwick rider Connor Coles posted on social media today. Lovely news from Kirsty Coles about Connor A little update on Connor Connor has now been transferred from Stoke to Derby and has officially started neurological rehabilitation in a specialist centre. Although there is still a long recovery journey ahead, this week has brought some really positive steps forward. Connor is becoming much more aware and engaged, communicating more, remembering conversations and slowly getting more like himself each day. He is now eating food orally again with thickened drinks, has started rehab exercises including the exercise bike, and is walking short distances with support and a frame. Seeing these small milestones after everything he has been through has meant so much to us all. There are still many challenges ahead with speech, swallowing, fatigue and weakness down his left side, and recovery will take time, but we finally feel like Connor is taking important steps in the right direction. Thank you again to everyone for all the continued love, support, messages and kindness shown to Connor and our family

  10. You couldn't make it up BSPL seemingly working against the people they've appointed to generate the next generation of talent 🤷‍♂️
    3 points
  11. BSPL decided that this years picks were from the 2025 British Final positions and not in 2026 form or with any input form the Painter at Team GB. Personally think it should be based on a riders form from this year and not a meeting held a year ago as that British Final enabled the choice of the GB SGP wildcard .

  15. I'll respectfully disagree, if they're good enough, should've finished ahead of Harris in the British final. Glasgow promotion will likely be pleased. You could argue Robert Lambert is the one "taking opportunities away" as he's almost guaranteed a wildcard if he doesn't finish in the GPs top 6! But he earned the right to choose.

  18. There is some dispute over when ignoring started. Some say Johnnie Hoskins was the first person ever to ignore anyone, but others say the Americans began ignoring everyone else long before he did - and, in fact, still are.

  19. Ignoring used to be so much better years ago... You had some of the best ignorer's in the world, ignoring over here, with tens of thousands happy to watch them ignore... Now, we have some very average ignorer's with hardly anyone watching them ignore... Ignoring seems to be dying on its arse, if this continuous thread is anything to go by..

  28. As I’ve pointed out on numerous occasions for god knows how many years with evidence of it, bikes today are in relative speed no faster than they were 40 years ago, what is considerably faster is the speed of the back wheel to the speed of the bike, when the bike is doing 50-60mph the back wheel is doing 80-100mph, hence the back tyres wear out in 5mins and the front tyre will last a season, it has been a problem for years but nobody especially riders and tuners want it addressed

  31. Maybe if the baby offset engines weren't so bloody fickle and everyone rode an engine that was more flexible, for want of a better term, less meetings would be called off as the bikes would be able to cope in conditions that varied a bit

  32. This is where we are at nowadays in the UK unfortunately. Riders just aren't interested in a wet track here when they can earn many multiples in Poland the next weekend. There is a 70-80% chance of showers all afternoon tomorrow and while they may miss Lynn clubs would rather not risk what we had at the Foxhole last Thursday I guess. The days of boilersuits and sawdust are long, long gone.

  39. Regulate the engines to max 10,000 revs is the answer but don’t do it by just putting the rev limiter set at 10,000, it needs to be so the engines won’t get up to 10,000 revs, limit cam lift to 10mm,maybe smaller inlet ports or a 2 valve head which isn’t actually that costly, sealed engines could work with cooperation on all sides but only to ensure only homolgated parts can be used, no 2 riders have same engine characteristics so a standard one size fits all wouldn’t work, gearing also wouldn’t work because although they may use a similar ratio they all use different configurations to achieve it, if you look at someone like MJJ he uses really small back sprockets probably in high 40s but will be using 13 on countershaft to achieve it but it will still be same ratio as others or alternatively chuck a load of dirt on every track and tell the riders to man the f up and get on with it, they will soon plum for softer engines
