Really not all that bothered about the result as the fans were definitely the winner with the level of racing. However, the riders need to stop coming out with this I'm going to go to next level crap. Worrall at start of season and flint yesterday. If you can't beat castagna and lasse round your home track then you're no going to any next level!10 points

Yes there is a lot of evil out there but there are many more good people. Speedway is no worse and no better than any other situation in life imo. I think thats a bit unfair. When they were younger I remember the two of them being quite pally at Newport. Like so many of us, the wool was pulled over Pinny's eyes about what SCB was really like and it was a massive shock when it broke. Is it any wonder he feels strongly about it? Especially given the type of crime it is. Threads often go off at a tangent on a forum, thats the nature of the beast, but remember it was SCB himself who started this tangent by putting his head above the parapet and trying to paint himself as reformed when the evidence of a second conviction shows otherwise. You can hardly expect people just to quietly let it go.5 points

Regardless whether you are red and white or blue and gold , speedway was the winner tonight . When you see the likes of Pickering and Harris going at it on a track so brilliantly prepared , it's still the most exciting sport in the world . But all 14 riders need congratulating for producing such a pulsating meeting5 points

It was obvious as soon as Eurosport got the speedway gp series this would happen. Weird looking cars going around follow the leader get priority, though I struggle to believe this attracts more fans than speedway gp. About 500 in the crowd. FIm need to give Eurosport the old heave ho at the first opportunity.4 points

Unless garrity is going to say to folk he took the rap for someone else I can’t see how explaining to people is going to help, I mean how do explain something like that and expect anybody to think oh because you have explained it makes it ok, surely the best course is get your head down, say nothing , work hard to get your career back on track and prove to people you have learnt and you are now a good person4 points

Hello I know you’ve missed me but I’m here and feeling rather smug today. We seem to have a winning mentality this year which has been missing. Was a great nights racing Pickering and Harris being the stars of it. I thought Harris got 3rd was surprised but of course very pleased when they announced they hadn’t as big cami was wondering around shaking the monarchs hands in the pits before it was announced with big smile on his face thinking that he had then he heard the announcement his face was a picture was a brilliant watch. Also very much enjoyed the desperation of them trying to get the the drone footage up on the big screen which just topped it all off. As a neutral though what a meeting that was it had it all. Who said speedway is dying.4 points

Should be of no surprise if he has already implied that type of threat in the belief that UK speedway cannot do without him. However, in todays climate and profile of speedway promoters and officials, it most certainly can. So if Chapman does want to take his bat and ball home so be it. Put simply, one person is nowhere near being bigger than the sport and as such Chapman cannot be allowed to hold any part of it to ransom.4 points

Go on, in what way is it? You've got Joey Barton who's made a baseless accusation. Then you've got myself who's called someone a nonce who has been found guilty and admitted to- Creating indecent images of children Distributing indecent images of children Found to have 102 examples of category A child pornography I've not thrown around a frivolous insult. I've called a spade a spade, he is a convicted paedophile and he is a nonce.4 points

As Lisa said, the BSN Series is a league, not a cup. Last night wasn't a "1st leg". It was a one-off meeting which, when drawn after 15 heats, allowed a super heat to decide a 'winner'. The real issue is whether you agree with the extra race and extra point. Personally, I don't. And, as Gambo said, the extra point could help decide qualifiers from the groups. In the same way, it could also decide 4th place (or, indeed, all places) in the Championship table for the stupid play-offs. A very strange concept. Yet more Americanised nonsense, designed to bring the evening to a grand climax. Quite pathetic really. 15 heats. If both teams finish level, what exactly is wrong with that? Shake hands, take your point and go home.3 points

He’s dangerous and will really hurt someone one day. Phil Morris should know all about that sort of thing too. Have no time for either of them.3 points

Doyle has a hunger that when fit he still feels like he’s 18. Say what you want about him but to suffer the injuries he’s had and still be on top of his game at this stage of his career is a massive achievement that people overlook.3 points

You should check the facts before coming out with this unsubstantiated waffle. For your enlightment read this:- RIDERS NOTICE: PLACEMENT OF TRANSPONDERS - Speedway Control Bureau. All riders are reminded that Transponders are to be used and it is the responsibility of the rider that they are charged and that they are placed on either the 'H' piece of the forks or in the pouch of the fork cover at the back of the handlebars. Transponders are used by other motorsports and are more accurate than visual observations, including Calamity Brown's defective vision, or Glasgow's overheard drone camera3 points
-
I think they are on the headstock which the handlebars are fitted to so are about 12-15 inches behind the front of the front tyre. The "loop" which receives the signal is buried the same distance behind the start line so receives the signal as the front tyre crosses the line.3 points
-
I believe the transponders are on the handlebars so people need to look at who's handlebars cross the line first, rather than tyre.3 points
-
I wasn't there, and have no opinion on the evidence of eyesight from wherever in the stadium. But I have to challenge your suggestion that transponders are "wrong too often". My belief is that, in GPs, in the UK and at every back-street go-kart track for twenty years and more, transponders are accurate and reliable. When have they ever been proved wrong?3 points

Have you ever a good thing to say about Edinburgh? No thought not. A good number from Edinburgh off to Poland for the GP, all booked before the fixture was arranged.3 points

Isn't that also a good example of team riding though ? There isn't a lot you can do to help a team mate stuck at the back with the 2 opposition riders in between, so you get a wriggle on to clinch the win to ensure you don't lose any ground. Worst case scenario is 3-3. I have said for years that Bewley will always be a better GP rider than club rider as he very rarely looks to help out. Last year, when Tai first joined Sheffield, there were several meetings where him and Kerr got out of the gate in front, Tai looked over his shoulder and let Kerr through, then sat on his back wheel for a 5-1. Had Bewley done the same here then Belle Vue would now be in the next round. Even the commentator says Mountain has "been left to his own devices, Bewley has checked out". Riders don't win titles - Teams do !!3 points

Not expecting much from this Glasgow team but who knows. Hoping for an entertaining afternoon no injuries and keep it relatively close., It’s just refreshing to be going to Workington again and watch some speedway.3 points

The only rider that's gone up any sort of level is James. The rest should stay well in their boxes until they can bang in a double digit score.3 points

You think that being a speedway supporter is the same as being a child abuser? How strange ...3 points

I don't get all the angsting here about the Cook's. Both have had the odd bad match, but they are clearly still improving and have turned in Premiership performances that show how good they could be. With Brennan and Hagon out performing expectation I don't think Poole have much to worry about and they can afford to carry Perry (or replacement should they drop him). Add in the fact that all the teams tipped as their main rivals (Glasgow, Oxford, Redcar) are under performing, I'd feel very positive at the moment if I was a Poole supporter.3 points

Regardless of who finished in what order in the super heat don’t think anyone who was there last night can deny that Edinburgh were the more solid outfit. For me they just shaded it on the night and deserved what turned out to be a well deserved win.3 points

It shouldn’t really - the difference is that Jeremy vine (unless I have missed something) has not been convicted or served time for being a nonce3 points

How can the transponders be wrong? Also if they are often wrong, why are they being used?3 points

Depends on the reason, if it was a bereavement for example - no ban. If the reason isn't announced, people will speculate. Mind you if a non-speedway injury / illness / missing a flight gets a 7 day ban, it would be odd that missing for a "personal reason" doesn't?3 points

It was after his final ride and was a very hot day may have ran out of drink supply in the pits, at least the comets got some money out of him . would be more worried if he got into his van and went to Asda2 points

Changes going to be hard this season, even with the slightly increasing team building limit at end of each month. Starkes obvious choice but I'd guess have to make 2 or 3 to make it worthwhile. Trying to take the philosophical view that we're taking a year off this year and just enjoy the racing. If anyone didn't enjoy that last night speedway's not the sport for you!2 points

Shows how weak FIM are when they signed the contract with Eurosport it should have stipulated Speedway GP takes priority over everything else. To play second fiddle to some obscure car event is unacceptable. No way doss this endurance event attract more fans than Speedway over the UK.2 points

Personally think there's no need for the "stupid heat" to decide draws in any competition. But see no reason why the BSN groups would need a different scoring system to the league.2 points

On the subject of SCB and him re-offending the clue was in his post, with one line. " Don't believe everything you read in the press" To me that intrigued, me as I genuinely thought that he would have been banned from any social media platform. After reading I googled his and Jason's names to read through reports on them only to find that SCB had re-offended. Was this SCB trying to cover up his re-offending. I think it was. I have since been told by others that he is very prominent on Twitter. What the hell are the authorities thinking about letting him on Twitter or any other social media platforms, Social Media and the likes of SCB are a dangerous mix. For Jason, actions speak louder than words. For one he needs to move away from Manchester way from previous he hung around with. He needs to do some charity work, victims support would be good one to start with and the two people he did wrong. And finally he would have to accept that he would face drug testing on a more regular times than other riders. If he was prepared to do all of the following then I might consider that he has reformed in character and maybe be given a 2nd chance of re- building his speedway career.2 points

To be fair, there were a good lot on the back straight enjoying the sunshine and as previously mentioned, a large Gang off to the GP but we are forever stuck with the “elephants” who vowed never to return. It’s obviously their prerogative but Personally, no-one will stop me following and supporting my team and last night (as before) who are the losers?2 points

More drivel. if you class something like what Iris123 earlier stated as more serious than the stuff SCB got done for and fantasied over , you must not be playing with a full deck. Paedophiles are the lowest of the low. Harming young, innocent children. Its disgusting to put it mildly. Stop defending the sicko , each post you make is making yourself look worse and I am sure everyone whos been active on this topic will agree.2 points

Don't think there's going to be any issues getting up to speed. He's always been a determined rider and willing to do anything to win. Given the amount of riders in poor form at the moment (especially @ Brum) I'm sure he'll get a spot and do well. As for clubs wanting him after everything that's happened...well I guess most clubs will believe in 2nd chances - plus it's a numbers game and if he can get the points then the rest will slot into place2 points

That was my point a good example of team riding from Jack, first looked back to see if he can help his team mate when he saw that wasnt an option he then secured the win. Agree with your other points.2 points
