  1. Is that you Buster? you did indeed - I am now going to check Klindts facebook to see if he has clarified his not riding now!
  2. oh, my mistake it appeared to me that it was on BSN! Oh well Leicester stream it is, as I am not in Shef this week!
  3. The Q to answer is can Birmingham beat their 29 score from the first fixture? I expect a home win but by less! I can't decide which stream to watch either thjis one or the Leicester v KL one!
  4. with apologies to Brummies supporters everywhere - i think most of us knew this already!!!
  5. I think also that what people don't get is midlands traffic can be horrendous, you can't just pop down the road. from say Wolves to Perry Barr, its going to be at least an hour in Monday rush hour traffic even though it s less than 20 miles!! - There are two cities in the UK I hate driving in they both begin with B - one is Bristol and the other is Birmingham! I live in Sheffield and don't go that often if Sheffield closed I could get the either BV or Scunny but the prospect of a 1 hr journey each time would mean it would be an occasional visit at the most! That doesn't mean I still don't enjoy streams and watching on the TV, or having an opinion on what happens. In 2022 or maybe 2023 (Wolves last season) I saw a guy who was clearly a Wolves supporter at the tram stop at Hillsborough corner - clearly on his way back to Sheffield station for a train back to Wolverhamnpton area - I recall thinkling fair play - you won't be home until Midnight! Whilst this is true what is the issue? - perhaps part of it is the Brummies closing in the mid 80s and not re-opening until the mid 2000's. That 20 year gap may have lost a lot of following. I'd say BIrmingham has the larger potential audience than Sheffield (500K) and the crowds at Owlerton are decent prob 2k or so - more when Belle Vue or Leicester are in town. Similar to the Netball - Basketball in the UK - I used to take my lad and a couple of his mates to Sharks (Sheffield) games the sport was I suspect semi pro / part time but attracted a good loyal regular following prob about 700-1k per match. I haven't been for a few years so no idea what the crowds are like now.
  6. I find the NSS like a faster Scuntthorpe - nearly always decent passing opportunities and they allow the racer to go flat out which is what i prefer - if only all tracks were like this! Sheffield used to be like this but is now too narrow IMHO.
  7. Have to also note Barker scored more than I reckoned too, give his due that was a decent return. Probably helped by the KL injuries so no Kvech in heat 14 etc
  8. Expected this to be a bit closer (6-8pts) but Jason and Dan both scored less than expected - Playoff predictions just got a bit more difficult!
  9. Brum a bit of an enigma - in the mini league (bottom three) they got completely walloped at Oxford (which I felt they had a chance of getting something from) and then when you think they won't turn over KL at home they do. Great night for Rew as well - hope Kvech and Cook were precautionary withdrawals!
  10. Even God hates BV - 😆 Narrow home win for me this one - decided in heat 13 or 15. Last weeks struggle against KL was due to KL being quite a bit better now having found some form and BV not being on it.
  11. from memory it was oddly v Leicester in 2023! outcome was the same as well a Leiceter win which could have been much bigger!
  12. Barker was drafted into the Ipswich side a couple of seasons ago and didn't do much - best days definitely behind him. A trier but more than that is needed! A sad but managed decline!
  13. poetry!! The british final final is the sort of race we all want to see. Surely Harris needs a season at the NSS before he ends his career? I remember seeing Screen and Loram at Owlerton in the SWC in about 2002 and it as a great meeting before the rain intervened to end it early!
  14. A lot of people don't engage their brain before they type that's certainly true. As my old man used ot say the internet affords a voice to everyone but not everyone is deserving of that voice -cos if they said what they typed down the pub they'd be told in no uncertain terms! Doyle said the same about his injuries - we all know riders do ride with various injuries etc and always have. In the old days a lot of footballers played with injuries too - they just stuck the needle in 10 minutes before KO! Thing is though whilst i. don't. really care about it all - so many over the years have pulled a few fast ones so there is an assumption of guilt -aftrerall poor Buster hasnt really veer recovered from 'pitgate'
  15. The. only match that ever looked sold out on TV was when Lakeside promoted the free meeting - a few thousand were there - of course most never came back! I will give our old promotoer his due he really tried to promote things!
  16. I know dear old JL used to hate having sky in town as he used to complain that the crowd drop and lack of takings exceeded the payment for the meeting coverage! No idea if its still the same. I personally quite like the highlights they do from the other meeting and have often thought that a match of the day style show would be better particulary if its broadcast a day or so later! Given the fact no one on here seems to truly like the tv meetings maybe thats the way to go. I did watch a meeting on the BSN last week Leicester when they thumped BV and I did feel the production was better etc but again the crowd did look lower to me than it sometimes is from Leicester.
  17. Having watched the main highlights again - what a great night for Danny King - TomB had been a bit of a concern of late too but he rode really well last night too.
  18. Wolves always used to look packed as they only had fans on the home straight. Maybe they should herd a lot of them into the back straight stand - the problem with Ipswich is even a 2-3k crowd can look spread out but last night the crowds looked less than half what it usually is.
  19. One or two good races despite the one sided scoreline - I was at the Leicester win here just a few weeks ago and the difference is a contrast! great ride from Emil that!
