Ellis was really good at Foxhall - if he got out of the gate he was often away - he also pickled up a fair few 5-1s with his partner. His injury hampered the Witches as well in my view. Everyone will feel confident but the Witches lost 2 times to BV at home in 2023 i think it was so no room for complacency!! I do expect a home win however - Kurtz will be the top man for BV.

Good start but means nothing yet! A strong all round performance from the witches however! Have a hope / feeling Danny will be great at no2!

I do sometimes but that's due to the number on the backs not always being clear - to me its seems obvious to have riders number and name on the back just like in other sports - the days of me knowing which rider was which by leathers, sponsors and bike covers are long gone.

Must admit I found the move to race suits very good - it not like they are charging £200 quid for replica race suits for the fans is it!

less teams for a start but a lot of chat probably migrated onto facebook / twitter etc. Also in the PL the sides were largely sorted before Cmas - I dont recall that being so 20 odd years ago, my team used to annouce their team quite late in the late 80s to 00's often almost as the season was starting - so there would always be plenty to talk about over the winter

I often by the star in Tescos - this happened to me - not bought it for a while for various reasons, but it wouldn't scan for me - easily fixed by manually entering the barcode number etc. I imagine this is a tesco issue however!

I really cant be bother to argue over it, i think most know my team folded - when i play sport I was and still am still as competitive as everyone, but i also understand any team i 'support' have no right to win you have to earn it, getting annoyed at your team losing seems about as much use as hating a desert cos it has sand in it! When my football team lose and of late they have lost a lot it really doesn't ruin my weekend or life, it annoys me - i dont like them losing - sometimes i won't watch the highlights as I dont want to see how badly or how unlucky they might have been. But it doesnt annoy me to the point of ruining my weekend and demanding everyone be sacked or replaced or whatever.

Its not really up to anyone to decide who is a true fan or not, each to their own isn't it! Some 'true' fans baffle me by not attending very regularly, if at all, yet having their say but there you go. Lets hope Jason and Emil are able to pick up where they left off here in the UK after their injuries, I would expect a BV win here. Both sides should, if injuries avoided etc, be in the Grand final come Sept /Oct.

I admit I was not aware - but i think this is now part of the issue so many channels and you really can't keep up with who owns what channels and where TV shows are going to feature! A good example of this is the Championship and L1 and L2 football highlights that have switched channels a few times over the years. I no longer use my old sky box to view live TV although I still have it - i stream 99% of what I watch so i suppose Quest is yet another App I will have to get - thanks for tip - altho i wonder if that highlights show will run in 2025! Edit: seems I can get Quest on the Discovery+ app

I suspect you are onto something here a sort of match of the day highlights style programme for speedway - 1 hr including the best heats from all the tracks! A studio style presentation + one or two ex riders as experts. The only issue would be maybe getting the footage from all the tracks!

Have to say looking forward to the season lets hope for some great racing - certainly all 4 Witches involved seemed to do well in that test!

I found £7 very decent value - I ditched both BT Sport and Sky in lockdown as I found the prices of the entire package was just too high, it also irritated me that football was being scattered across various services meaning a huge outlay if you wanted them all - SKY BT Sport and Premier TV (which you could get Polish and Swedish Speedway on) the list was getting too long. I was paying close to £200 per month for everything - broadband Sky full package Bt Sport etc etc. So i disaggregated everything and cut out sky, bt sport etc entirely - and just subscribed to Discovery for the GPS, SWC and league in the UK. The one benefit to steaming services is you have much more control and power to cancel the subscription, it took me several goes to cancel sky and BT sport - i think they deliberatly make it so so you give up trying to cancel. I may well subscribe for the season for £31 per month and then cancel out of season but lets see where speedway pops up first.

It seemed to cruel that Adams, one of the smoothest and safest riders ever, had that type of injury after his speedway career had literally just finished! I also remember dear old JL having a crash on a monkey bike at Foxhall a few years back too not quite the same but he was quite seriously injured if i recall it right!

Thanks for that I was on the third and forth bend and remember that cutback - it was the sweetest move of all time!

I was that much of a fan I badgered my dad to take me all the way to Swindon a couple of times, one time I was actually staying with family friends in Nailsworth and they took me to Blunsdon 1988 V Ipswich - Andrew scored an almost perfect 14 from 5 that day! Gary Chessell another ex Arena rider was riding for Swindon also and he scored 8 or so as well - i went home very happy!!

He certainly seemed to me to be one of the most naturally talented riders for sure. I felt he could and should have gone higher than he did. He gave me many speedway happy memories however!
