I'm expecting a win on the lottery, and I'm expecting a reply very shortly.......

Think one of the biggest problems is speedway machinery. Even at amateur level it's either expensive especially to maintain or dreadfully unreliable. If you've a product that's more or less moto cross based machinery, most will do season after season with reasonably priced routine maintenance.

Kent Eagles V Plymouth Centurions 15/06/2025
gazzac replied to M.D's topic in National League Speedway
If you can have a good track with the current hot/dry conditions, congratulations to the track team and when we get the cooler conditions should get even better. As others, especially Birmingham have shown it's not an easy thing to achieve. Uncle Bob and Uncle Len would have been pleased..... -
Never boo one of your own, away riders are fair game....

Don't 2 wrongs make a right..... -
Is it nearly getting to a point, if JD doesn't qualify for the GP's next year and perhaps won't get a wild card it will be a blessing in disguise, prolong his career at the top at league level here and Poland for a few extra years without the wear and tear and injuries he's sustained in the GP's?

Indeed, generally have the fastest bike, clear off and don't get involved in any tight races and keep safe I seem to remember.

That's not a thought I wanted to carry in my head all day really.....

No way would I want exhaust gases let up up my inlet.... I assume followed by a misfire pop, or a bang I suppose?

Same as the league/playoffs as well really.....

Give Sir Liar Flipflop Starmer another day and Brexit will be a distant memory so wouldn't worry too much....

Think that's a bit harsh, sure quite a number of championship teams would like that journeyman as their No1, and as a second heat leader in the Premiership?

52-38 or there abouts. Good luck to all riders for a safe great first meeting.

League Riders Championship 6th April 3pm (Scunthorpe)

Saw 2 at the old Wembley with I think a 90000ish crowd, was rather special Olsen and Penhall winning with Gordon Kennett coming so close in one, losing out by a point if I remember correctly. -
Probably Ai, changed the thread title on route, or fat finger syndrome like me....😅

Think those days have well and truly gone, so unreliable and has been for many years unfortunately, and let so many teams down. Think it was the last chance really, time for both rider and promoters to move on to something new I would have thought.

Must certainly be one of the toughest riders ever, physically and mentally, just hope he has an injury free season, a true servant to British speedway.

Belle Vue v Ipswich March 24th KOC
gazzac replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Slightly off topic, but with the above I do think a lot of riders of all levels are swayed with so called trick(y) tracks and are mentally beaten before they ride them. Remember at Arlington seeing it both ways, even in our NL days, some were beaten before they rode there, but remember Adam Ellis, Ellis Perks, and and others getting to grips( no pun intended) straight away. Obviously exceptional, but Dan Bewley's one meeting there early days in the NL saw him flirt with the fence in his first race, then win the next 4 and look amazing. Think it is probably a worse situation now, most can ride on the block, but don't have the throttle skills of riders gone by. Think it maybe partly the reason Tom Brennen has risen above the others of his era, honed his skill as a nipper at Arlington. -
Glad to hear you're ale and hearty....

There's always comments on here about a few riders and their big wage demands, especially Zagar and MPT, just wondered if it's fact, especially as they've got to the tail end of their careers or just a story from someone 'in the know' years ago and it just gets repeated down the line true or not?

Can't imagine why there would be any reason not to let them in to the NT, make it 6 teams, another meeting? As long as Mildenhall can build a team quick enough to the same limits etc as the other teams can't think it would be a problem, definitely don't want a fiddle of the rules to let them in.
