  1. I think they are still classified as official British speedway merchandise
  2. Interesting result last night…..might we edge Leicester out??
  3. Any ideas when Thompson is likely to be fit? Just seen that Jason Edwards has signed for Sheffield
  4. The issue with King is his disappearance at vital times when you need a skipper’s performance. Heat 12 this year has certainly been an issue.
  5. If the BSPL don’t like what Bomber has to say they’ll just tell him he doesn’t have to turn up like the thousands of ex supporters who have been given the same advise over the years
  6. Ipswich have had three of the most naturally gifted riders in the last 30 years ride for them. Tony, Tomasz & Emil all have bags of natural talent & all managed to crack Foxhall in their first meeting. All adapted very quickly to the tighter more challenging uk circuits. while we no longer have the strength of the polish league the uk certainly sorts the wheat from the chaff. I have a feeling the current world champion wouldn’t fair very well over here.
  7. The best thing that never happened he would have been a disaster
  8. Rew was always going to be more than a one season project especially after the back injury & not starting at reserve. Riss would have generally maintained his average had it not been for the illness issues. That’s my opinion I’m sure plenty including yourself will disagree. However if the regs allow Doyle & Emil should both be retained the clubs been much better for having those two guys around.
  9. If the regulations stay the same then personally I’d have Emil & Doyle with Riss, Rew & Dan Thompson from this years side Rew & Riss will both be on much lower averages than this year so that makes up for the Emil/Doyle increase. Rew to start at reserve Doyle as skipper & 2 new faces.
  10. It would be great to see how Zmarzlik would get on, more Laguta than Emil I think. He’d show himself up. Anyway back to last night we’ll done the Ipswich 5, & good to see Riss looking competitive.
  11. Artem was a massive disappointment last night & not to appear in heat 13 a disgrace. Are you sure it’s not KK in disguise? He doesn’t appear to have the track craft & throttle control.
  12. Emil is probably the best all round rider in terms of track craft & how approachable he is since Tony. Hopefully there is a way he can return next year
  13. He said the same about Peterborough last year….better get ready to welcome him to Foxhall in 24!
  14. Depends on how you define greatest I guess. If it’s on world title then Woffy is certainly in a league of his own. However if it’s on track craft, service to club, country & British speedway then there are plenty who are greater. Peter Collins for example or from my era Louis, Loram, Havelock, Screen are all ranked higher in my opinion.
  15. Emil , Doyle for sure next season. Riss maybe depending on how he performs for the rest of this season. After investing in Rew this year he has got to come back as I think there is a great rider in there. Although all that depends on league structure for next year, that might not allow for riders like Emil & Doyle. King certainly needs a year away
  16. I quite agree regarding the golden heat & play offs both divides opinion but certainly add something. Speedway used to have a great tournament the old 4s, in the NL days. Something different at your local track when the qualifying round was there. Finals day at Peterborough was awesome 2 semi finals & a final in one day…..that would be a great meeting to sell to Tv. The highlights used to be on itv!
  17. I agree! I watched the hundred on tv the other night the thing looked very modern. Even the graphics on screen were far to hip for cricket!
  18. It’s more a frustration thing with King, yes he scores & his average is fine. However he goes missing when you really need him. He has been on the wrong end of heat advantages to the opposition 7 times in heat 12 this year at home & does have habit of throwing points away under pressure.
  19. But as Laguta has found out it may not have the host of big stars but British speedway isn’t easy……it’s a far different proposition to the full throttle of Poland. If this season has shown anything it’s probably that Emil is the most naturally gifted technical rider at the moment.
  20. Not matter what the opinion is on here one thing is certain we all want speedway to get a grip & sort itself out. The comments on here have become more negative & I’ll include myself in that. The negativity is however in-line with the on going line of decline that the sport is witnessing. It’s all very well saying get a grip it’s a great sport go & watch it but the reality is those who are willing to do that is declining at an every faster rate. I used to genuinely love my speedway & I had my rose tinted specs on for years. My watershed moment came about 15 years ago when the rules were changed mid season around the elite league play offs. In a heart beat I went from attend every week to 4 or 5 times a season, when I finally got fed up with the ever increasing number of riders missing meetings, the guest fest & out of control doubling up. This saw me stop attending all together, although the past couple of years I have gone once or twice as a night out to catch with with the group who used to go to speedway. From the age of 10 though to 32 Speedway was my sport Ipswich my team, however I lost interest in the sport & my emotional attachment to my team because of the reasons above. This year I have been to Foxhall more times than since 2009 the reason is the racing has been good in the main & the Emil factor. However it’s a night out I don’t attend as a passionate Ipswich fan because I can’t get that level of attachment any longer hence can’t see myself being a regular again. on the flip side the way Ipswich is ran & presented gives an insight into how speedway could look given half a chance.
  21. If it’s a crap meeting it’s a crap meeting you can’t spin that. Having a commentator saying how good it is would be far worse, it’s up to those in charge to ensure the product is something that excites & people want to watch no some half baked propaganda from the commentators. it would be like something from escape to victory!
  22. No idea however Emil certainly seems to be very happy at Ipswich, hopefully the league structure & club finances allow him to return next year.
  23. Still certainly answered the question of who is the better rider Emil or Artem, Emil by a country mile.
